About Dreel Tavern
One of Anstruthers most historic buildings, the Dreel Tavern has served the area as a venue for fine food and drinks over the years. Alli, Hannah, family and the team are proud to be the current custodians of this impressive setting, contributing to the growing reputation for businesses within the East Neuk providing local produce at its very best from the land and the sea.
Apart from the delightful atmosphere available, there is an awesome beer garden overlooking the Dreel burn, enjoying the summer sun all day long. For those dark winter months the Dreel boasts a grand open fire to add to that cosy feeling whilst enjoying good company and fare!
Really enjoyed our dinner at The Dreel Inn. Felt perfectly comfortable with their excellent COVID 19 protections. We will retiurn soon..
Absolutely brilliant food and wonderfully friendly service
Lovely food and service. Bar area was a bit cramped and hectic being right next to service areas.
Lovely place, friendly staff and excellent food.
The Dreel Tavern is doing an excellent job given current Covid restrictions. We always felt safe, well looked after and the food was excellent.
Bar staff very nice and very helpful. The food was delicious - very unusual combinations that’s why we have already recommended to our family and friends. Would come again when next on holiday. Thank you for the delicious meal.
Food is great. But it would be nice to be served prawn tacos on a plate rather than an aluminium takeaway. Also it would be great if you had some heaters dotted around to keep those of us in the beer garden Warner. Service could have been better. We were forgotten and left with no drinks and dirty plates. We had to get up and ask for help three times. The waiters were sitting at the table next to the grill smoking and eating. That was disappointing. Cheers
Four of us out for an evening meal 2 of us had the sea bass which was just right with a crispy skin and a great range of vegetables. 2 had steak both cooked to the individuals taste, great flavour including the topping. The deserts were slightly different the chocolate was cooked to perfection with a lovely soft filling. The lemon dessert however while ok lacked the lemon kick I was looking for, that said we all really enjoyed the meal and the great service that is a feature of the Dreel
Myself and my partner visited the Dreel Tavern for dinner during our break away in Fife and the food was just incredible. I had the scallops for my starter and then we both had the rabbit gnocchi for our mains which was genuinely a taste bud explosion. We’ve been to the Dreel Tavern once before around a year ago and we remember it being amazing then so it was wonderful to return. Service and value for money were both excellent. Due to the current circumstances with covid the atmosphere was a little on the quieter side but this by no means ruined our experience and also is no one’s fault. There’s also a beer garden which is wonderful to laze in during these warm late summer days but given our booking was in the evening it was a little too chilly to be sitting outside! Definitely worth a visit here if you are staying in or passing through Fife!
Had a lovely lunch here whilst visiting the East Neuk. The sharing platters are fantastic quality and value for money and great local beers and gins. Would definitely recommend.
Maybe just tell people there are blankets for those dining outside loved it
Very friendly and efficient service. The flat steak special was delicious. Highly recommend Thanks to the Dreel Tavern for an excellent meal.
Great vibe, very good one way strategy in place, all staff great, Fraser enthusiatically knowlegable about menu and wine list. Ate there 3 times in 5 day stay in Anstruther. Can't wait to go back!
The food shack saved the day for our second visit in a week. The a la carte menu is quite limited and some of our party didn’t see anything to suit them but the taco’s and nachos from the shack were delicious. Three of us had the scallops twice and would have them again, the rabbit gnocchi, sea bass and steak were also great.
Lovely food and great service, Covid 19 guidelines affecting atmosphere but understandable
Lovely pub very friendly and well organised in these difficult times . We had the tacos and sea bass which were both excellent .
Flawless food, great value. Have already recommended to friends. Great service, however slightly slow in parts. Tried to book again but you were full, be back again soon!
Super covid safe ,all the staff were lovely .Special commendation to Frazer for being friendly and informative.Food was delicious, fresh and plentiful.Highly recommend
Lovely setting, wonderful staff and scrumptious food. The rabbit gnocchi was amazing. Would definitely recommend a vist.
We were a party if 6. 4 off the bbq menu and 2 off the normal menu. The food from the bbq arrived on time. The 2 from the normal menu arrived 25 mins late. Everyone was finished when the other 2 meals arrived. Thanks
We had our first visit to the Dreel Tavern as our first dinner out since March and it was fantastic. We then booked to come back for the Sunday Lunch and it was the best Sunday Lunch I have had from a restaurant! Can’t wait to come back for another. Also, love the shack and the margaritas!!
A very enjoyable dining experience during difficult times. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unique menu with a ‘street food’ type option adding to the experience and atmosphere.
Great food and service - COVID-security taken seriously and done well
Having eaten here many times before I was looking forward to dinner there on Saturday 12th Sept 2020. I was so disappointed, the menu has changed from a normal good pub selection to an extremely limited choice of a few expensive sharing plates, some snacks and a few main courses. Check the menu before going to avoid disappointment. The food was expensive, by comparison to other pubs nearby and with such a limited choice.. We all has the steak, due to the limited choice on the menu and these were excellently cooked. The service was appalling. Had to wait 15 mins for first drinks order. Waitress couldn't answer basic questions about the menu or explain what was on the fish platter. Service was slow and surly. The bill was wrong (twice) and the waitresses attitude was incredibly arrogant asking me to "triple check the bill" they got wrong twice. Dinner for 4 was £200, not worth it. Won't be going back. Sadly one to avoid, such as shame as it used to be so good !
We loved our lunch at the Dreel , it’s a brilliant setting the staff were friendly and very helpful
