About Dreel Tavern
One of Anstruthers most historic buildings, the Dreel Tavern has served the area as a venue for fine food and drinks over the years. Alli, Hannah, family and the team are proud to be the current custodians of this impressive setting, contributing to the growing reputation for businesses within the East Neuk providing local produce at its very best from the land and the sea.
Apart from the delightful atmosphere available, there is an awesome beer garden overlooking the Dreel burn, enjoying the summer sun all day long. For those dark winter months the Dreel boasts a grand open fire to add to that cosy feeling whilst enjoying good company and fare!
The Dreel is a welcoming place both for us who live close by and for those on an adventure here in the East Neuk. Their staff is friendly, proficient and attentive, it seems like a happy place to work! In winter there's a cosy fire on the hearth, they have a great craft beer and whisky selection and are mindful of having excellent music at a volume that works well (not too loud, just enough to add to the atmosphere). Whether you need a place and a pint to wind down after work or you and your family want a lavish meal, the Dreel never disappoints.
My husband and I booked on the day of re-opening and were made to feel extremely welcome, we had great service and all covid safety rules were observed. We have only been to The Dreel once before every much enjoyed their fish and chips, which is disappointingly no longer on the menu. We really enjoyed the crispy chicken burger but please bring back the fish and chips!!
Overall was a good experience. I know you have issues regarding covid and that is fully understandable. Because of this menus are restricted and although the food was nice it will be nice when you can return to your full menu
Would like half portions as an option so that I’d have room for dessert!
Our first experience of life after lock down. Went with Wife & 6 year old daughter + Wife’s Mum & Dad. From the point of booking and arranging this it could not have been more simple. Fraser gave us a hearty welcome as soon as we entered the bar & Sarah our waitress could not have been any nicer and attentive. The food ordered was delicious and presented in an in an impeccable way. The best bit we had a really cool sheltered booth that was great to protect us from any May showers. Well Done as the staff and COVID compliance procedures were spot on. Food ordered was superb and the first draft pint was great. Highly recommend as you will not be sorry. Very reasonably priced as well. Please support these timeless classics as they are hard to find.
We have been going to the Dreel on holiday from England for over 10 years. We have moved to Ayr and had a trip to Anstruther as a priority as lockdown eased. The Dreel have made great efforts to make their pub safe and feel safe and the atmosphere was great despite the sudden hail storm! Well done to management and staff for creating such a great place!
Unfortunately, not a busy day but we still had a good meal though menu was limited
A really pleasant meal with excellent service.
Excellent Lunch with very good service.
Fantastic Sunday roast, food and service great as always
Gorgeous little pub. AMAZING roast. Dog friendly. Nothing not to like about this wee place. Was eerily quiet because of COVID-19 restrictions. Imagine it’s normally very busy. Thanks again for a great dinner.
Really disappointed staying at Airbnb in Anstruther and took opportunity to book a table at the Dreel tavern for lunch. Thoroughly disappointed with the lamb roast which both my husband and I ordered very little meat all fat no substance to gravy and at £14.40 per serving very overpriced. Would think twice in going back for food pity ....it didn’t live up to the nice surroundings and service.
Excellent lunch with very friendly & attentive service.
The Dreel Tavern is an excellent place to have a delicious meal, friendly and efficient staff and great value. I would recommend that people go and experience this place in a beautiful historic building, set in Anstruther with all of its unique quirks. We had a couple of their small plates(which were not small at all ) , delicious. We will be back
Lovely meal in a nice pub with a real fire. Staff are friendly too.
Sad to not have the full menu to choose from, but the small plates were just delicious! COVID measures very appropriate. Will definitely return when it can be the full experience.
Another lovely meal. Thank you for all the effort being made by staff.
Amazing Sunday roast. Cosy fire. Mocktail menu. All first class.
Everything was delicious as always!
Excellent food in beautiful surroundings! Well done all at the Dreel tavern
Food was so tasty, with good size portions. Gorgeous decor & friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit. Fabulous outdoor seating area, with amazing view of the river
Loved my first but definately not my last visit. Great staff very high quality of food. Lovely coal fire. Covid regulations in place so felt very safe but it wasn't intrusive.
Given the strange times it's nice to get out for a lunch with really nice food. Can recommend Dreel Tavern. The meat or fish sharing board is a definite must try.
Excellent lunch at reasonable prices, attentive and kind staff.
Had a wonderful meal last night shame it was our last for a while but looking forward to our takeaway on Saturday .thank you for a fab meal
