Loved, loved, loved the entire experience! Our server was the sweetest and it was hands down the best tea any of us had ever had. Highly recommend the almond coconut tea!

I came in for high tea with a gluten free guest. After looking over the website when making our online reservation, we expected gluten free baked goods and bread to be available to her. We had previously had GF brownies at Dr. Bombay’s that we enjoyed and expected the same. We were disappointed when she was presented with a tray of various spreads, gluten free crackers and carrots. The waitress explained that dr.bombay's doesn’t currently have a baker who can bake GF. While we were happy the items presented did not contain gluten, it certainly was not “high tea” fare, nor did it match the description on the website. I can understand charging $22.50 for a tray of GF baked goods, however the items provided were not worth that price. I'm requesting a refund for the $5 up charge incurred for the gluten free tea.

This was an amazing time. It is more relaxed than a regular high tea but quality was great. Area was a little tight and the waitress’ seemed to be working really hard to keep up but did great for only having two.

It took several days for someone to respond to me about my booking, so I wasn't sure how many guests I was able to include. The treats that were part of the high tea did not taste fresh- they tasted bland and stale, which was very disappointing for the price we paid.

This was my first time at the cafe, wait was long before someone acknowledged us, although we had a 2pm reservation. Tea was Luke warm, after waiting almost 35 minutes fir our pastries, we saw that the party that came after us where served already with the pastries. Waiter told us that they still baking the Quiche and it should be out shortly. After receiving the quiche we noticed it was cold. Service was not good and no one cared about all the issues.

I believe the place was probably overbooked, unless it is that uncomfortably crowded all the time. There was a party of 19 at a long table with barely any room between that table and our table, so people kept bumping into me. My party of 3 were at the end of a different long table, where others were seated, so we had very little "elbow room." Also, it's such a narrow table that my knees kept bumping the person across from me. The servers could barely move in the room because it was so jam-packed with people and chairs. They did the best they could and were very pleasant, however it took a long time to get our tea and even longer to get our food. I don't know whether it is always this crowded on a Saturday but it was not a pleasant experience. I was expecting an elegant, relaxing tea, and this was not it. Scones and quiche were very good; other food was average. The gluten free person was served 3 boring choc chip mini-muffins instead of the sweets the other people got. It's easy to make tasty GF sweets, especially brownies and cookies, so this seemed inexcusable to me. As I was taking 2 friends here as a special treat, I was very sorry I had chosen this place.

My family loved high tea! The servers were incredibly attentive. And the food was excellent. When I paid, I had a moment of sticker shock. I wish it was a bit less expensive—mainly so I could consider doing it again sooner! But it was an amazing experience (and Christmas gift) for my family visiting from out of town. So THANK YOU!

Our server Lindsey was amazing and extremely knowledgeable! My friend is all gluten free and the options were ASTOUNDING. The mango ice cream at the end to cleanse your pallet was a great touch. Can not wait to book again!

Everything was very nice and the opportunity to have high tea is lovely. But I will say... given the treats that we got and the tea pot we shared... 17.50 a person is extremely expensive. It should be more around 20 for two people.

I organized a friends baby shower here, made a booking here as I thought it would be the perfect place to host an intimate event. Unfortunately one of the girls got the flu and could not make the event. Even though it did not state it anywhere on the booking confirmation, I was told that it was too late to cancel her order and we were charged with the full cost (including a service charge) for one high tea. That was highly disappointing considering the restaurant was full of people and the items could have easily be resold. Otherwise, the owner was really lovely and welcoming. I would only go back for tea and cake, not the high tea.

Our experience was fun, and everyone enjoyed the whole thing. Our server helped us choose 4 teas to go with the AMAXING high tea. The scone with jam and clotted cream were my faves. But the biscuits to dip in tea that started us were simply perfect. I could have lived without the white bread “tea sandwiches...” Other enjoyed the mini cupcakes while I was focused on scone #2. Can’t wait for another visit. Next time, hope we’re not at the table at the front door - it’s amazing to see how many people exited leaving the door wide open in the chill and rain!

The experience was great. I wish the sweet options on the high tea tray were more varied and better than brownies and cupcakes. The winter quiche was excellent. Also, there should be someone available when you walk in. Instead we were waiting around for someone to tell us where to sit for our reservation. Great visit and would definitely return.

It quite busy during the time that my group came, we felt the service could have been better and also the finger food that came with high tea could have also been better in our opinion. The place is small and dainty feels very homey which is quite nice.

Very disappointed. Everything was just off! Quiche was very cold, which in turn tasted awful. Service was off kilter from beginning. I had reserved for birthday celebration for granddaughter and frankly was treated as if we in the way. We were re-seated by server, rudely asked to move over by fellow diner. I would not consider for special occasion, may be to drop in have a cup of tea. Celebration was spoiled.

Afternoon tea is my favorite thing to do for celebrations and just for fun. Dr Bombay’s does not disappoint. Their pimento cheese sandwiches are out of this world and their tea is wonderful.

We made reservations to enjoy high tea for 11am this past Sunday to celebrate a few things. We showed up a little early, found our table right off, sat down, and that’s the last time something went right. After sitting there for about 10 minutes, the waitress came over and dropped off the tea order slip. We asked about one of the teas (dragon oolong) and the waitress tried to describe it very vaguely. When I asked for more information, she admitted that she’d never had it before and didn’t know anything about it, so she went to go ask someone. We went ahead and chose the vanilla almond and the milk oolong, and had the slip ready when she came back to tell us that no one knew what the dragon tea tasted like and walked off. Another 15 minutes later, she came back and asked if we knew what teas we wanted, so we handed her the slip. We waited a significant amount of time for unsteeped tea to be placed on the table, and were basically disappointed with the milk oolong. The bags are basic prepackaged meh tea. The vanilla almond, however, was delicious. After waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time and still not having anything more than the tea, we gave up waiting. We asked for our check for just the tea, and that’s when we were told that they were horribly understaffed and had some behind the scenes issues. On top of that, the waitress was new. All of that would have been acceptable if it had been explained *before* we waited almost an hour for what we’d ordered. Instead of communication and transparency, we left disappointed with our celebrating mood seriously dampened.
