About Downham Hall Coffee Shop
Located in the Essex countryside in the head of a valley which heads down to the River Crouch and overlooks the Thames Estuary in the distance. We are close to several towns, including Billericay, Wickford and Downham.
A venue perfect for an Afternoon Tea or a Coffee trip for some light bites, offering a breakfast and lunchtime menu also.
The food was presented beautifully and was very tasty. I ordered the lasagna and my partner had the pie of the day, and I must admit when it was served, although the lasagna was tasty I did have ‘pie envy’ !!
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. They weren’t aware of our reservation but thankfully it wasn’t busy and we were seated straight away. Will definitely go again
Lovely venue great food
Great time celebrating my friend's 80th birthday!
The best afternoon tea around. From start to finish it was a pleasant experience. Our waitress was very attentive and nothing was to much trouble. Cannt wait for the next time
Beautiful venue, friendly service and wonderful food
Such a lovely venue, thoroughly enjoyed our Afternoon Tea, all the food was delicious and fresh. Service was friendly yet still professional, made us feel very welcome Cant wait to return, it's now my firm favourite for lunch or Afternoon Tea and will be recommending to everyone!! Thankyou for a lovely afternoon.
We had a lovely lunch thank you. The food and drinks were lovely. Unfortunately the waitress made us feel very uncomfortable by presenting us with the bill before we asked for it. We were made to feel our time was up and we were expected to leave. There were plenty of empty tables as there was only one other table occupied. It really wasnt a nice feeling and not something I have ever experienced anywhere else. Perhaps it would be nicer if she presented the bill and said tske your time no rush!!
I think we have found a little gem of a place in Downham Hall and will definitely visit again. We recently had the pleasure of having Afternoon Tea and it was delicious and presented beautifully. The owner and staff were absolutely delightful and made sure we had everything we needed whilst not being intrusive. We were able to look around the Orangery that lunch is served in and found it to be in the perfect position for a great view of the rolling hills. I expect in the summer months it's going to be a wonderful relaxing place to eat out. I would not think twice about recommending Downham to anyone, it is well worth the dining experience in such a beautiful setting...thank you
Beautiful setting with lovely views. The conservatory area always a bit chilly. Service was great and we were made to feel very welcome.
Thoroughly loved our visit for afternoon tea in the conservatory - atmosphere, views and staff all wonderful - food was delish - only item, the chocolate dairy free dessert had no taste but the lemon one was wow Usually go to Orsett Hall - but would pick you guys every time now xxxxx
Lovely food and service!
Celebrated a birthday breakfast. We are a Family of 10. The food and service were both fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the views were stunning. Will definitely be going back.
Lovely afternoon with delicious cakes. Relaxed atmosphere and a hidden gem in Downham
A friend and I had a lovely lunch at Downham Hall yesterday. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the actual place is beautiful with stunning views. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. A gem in Wickford, will definitely be visiting again .
A lovely afternoon tea which i’d happily go back to soon
Was one of the nicest afternoon teas I’ve had for a long time. While I was there I booked again for November. I didn’t give full marks on atmosphere because it was way to hot for me. The server did bring me a fan thou.
I would have liked another Sausage
