About Don Txoko
Basque-inspired grill restaurant. Serving classic tapas, grilled steaks and fish.
Fantastic food! Amazingly authentic gem in the middle of Norwich.
Excellent food, wine & service. The experience far exceeded our expectations & we will be booking again very soon.
Lovely lunch at Don Txoko, staff friendly and knowledgeable
What a fabulous evening my friends and I had at Don Txoko! The food was delicious, the wine memorable and the service impeccable. A truly special evening and we will be making a return visit very soon!
We had a wonderful meal, service was very good and would definitely return to this lovely little restaurant.
Had a fabulous lunch here. One of our group had a couple of dietary requirements different to the norm and they accommodated this wonderfully and even made alternatives to the tasting menu where possible.
Fantastic service and food. Great night and experience
Delicious food. Will definitely come back. Only issue for me was that it gets very noisy as there are no soft surfaces to absorb the sound. Otherwise couldn’t fault it
Had my 50th birthday here on September 18th my group and I had the 10 course taster menu, fantastic food great atmosphere and great staff. Will definitely be back soon.
The tasting menu was exceptional - really wonderful, with amazing combinations & flavours. And the steak...? Simply amazing, the best in town. Looking forward to going back and doing it all over again in a couple of weeks.
Loved the food and great service. Will be back.
Fantastic dinner and service as always, these guys are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what they do, you can’t fault it. Would recommend
Absolutely fantastic and the staff so knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Love eating here!
Wonderful meal, great atmosphere and attentive staff.
Great restaurant, brilliant staff and fantastic food!!
Food was fantastic, service was impeccable so customer friendly and very knowledgeable! Still waiting to see the picture of the Dog ...
We had a great evening, fabulous food, drink & service, staff very knowledgeable and passionate without being overbearing :) definitely recommend and will be ordering take away whilst restaurant has to be closed. Thanks so much for having us!
The staff were fantastic. I’m coeliac and they were very caring and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and suited us all including 2 vegetarians. Wine list a little pricey but good quality
Great leisurely lunch on Saturday. The food is fantastic and as much of a treat for the eyes as the tastebuds.
We had a good time, but we didn't feel as if the restaurant as yet has got the wow factor. We had some tortilla and croquettes to start. The first was a bit on the cold side and the latter felt reheated. Our mains were ok (not sure why the receipt says how the ox cheek was cooked - not sure that there are many variations). Desserts were ok - my friend's turron ice cream was a little bland. Not sure Robbie Williams over the PA is quite the ambience you're looking for in a Spanish place. The chopito of PX at the end is a nice touch (although I don't drink but my friend enjoyed hers).
Lovely meal, thank you. We all really enjoyed. Will be coming back.
Best steak I have ever had! Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We started off with trying lots of different tapas, the chorizo flatbreads and croquetas being our favourites. Then we moved onto the sharing steak which was beautiful, just melted in your mouth. Looking forward to our next visit!
We’d heard about Don Txoko late last year, having enjoyed Galician beef in Mallorca. Last night was the first opportunity we had to eat there and were thrilled to enjoy the wonderful beef! From the immediate response to our email booking - through the warm welcome - to the generous hosting, this restaurant is a very welcome addition to Norwich. Designed to emulate a traditional, neighbourhood Basquaise establishment, Don Txoko has a small menu typical of the area; including very interesting tapas. The star performer however, is the 40day-aged beef (from dairy cows) from which one may choose the appropriate size. Cooked as you wish, or as we chose, ‘to chef’s liking’ and served simply with bravas topped with aioli and an interesting beetroot and kale salad, the 600g piece of perfectly marbled rib, was a true delight! Owner, Derek and front of house, Alastair were knowledgable, friendly and perfect hosts! With our shared love of good food and wine (including a particular passion for the queen of sherry otherwise known as PX!) encouraging excellent conversation! A wonderful evening - although the restaurant felt a little cold! We look forward to many more visits!!
Excellent meal with friends, great service.
Absolutely superb restaurant. Been twice now & totally superb. The food is exquisite, the booze is excellent & the staff are extremely helpful & knowledgeable. Currently my favourite restaurant & the beat stark I’ve eaten outside Argentina. 10/10
