About Don't Tell The Duke
Don’t Tell The Duke is a hub for the local community. Open from early morning we will be serving brunch such as our infamous runny wild boar scotch duck egg with crispy bacon on sourdough and tangy tomato relish (the earlybird really does catch the worm!) And, of course, everyone needs that grand cuppa coffee to kick them in to second gear first thing. We serve food from 11am right through until 9pm every day. So whether you are after light veggie options and just avoiding carbs for a few days, we have plenty to keep you occupied.
Our bar area has a capacity of 45 guests and is open until 12am at weekends where we will be offering interactive and quirky cocktails, 14 draft beers along with gin aplenty and 65 bottles of the ol’ plonk. There is also an in house DJ who plays 80s and D.I.S.C.O classics every Friday from 8:30-12:30am.
So we’d like to think we can offer something for everyone, we’ve even dropped some of our prices without compromising on quality but shhhhh...Don’t Tell The Duke.
Our Commercial ‘About Us’ Brief in a nutshell would be:- we are a unique day and night time haunt to service the locals of North Leeds with Innovative dishes and opulent cocktails- Wow, I pretty much sold my soul there.
Great tasting rare breed Yorkshire Beef done right!
Outstanding all round. I will be a regular! Tom Foolery was already a favourite of mine and now DTTD is added to my favourites! Thank you 😊
Bar staff were friendly, waiting staff were attentive. Food was phenomenal. Highly recommend. What a wonderful evening.
Absolutely loved our visit at Don't Tell the Duke! Food was amazing, that vegetarian burger was to die for! The rest of the table said their steaks were cooked to perfection, service was great as was the atmosphere. 10/10 will be back! (Probably with our dogs now we know it's dog friendly!!)
We came as a party of 4 for Sunday lunch and everyone was very happy with their food. The restaurant has lots of quirky artwork which was interesting to look at! The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and were accommodating of our dog. They even placed some paper over the window to shield our eyes from the sun! We would recommend it and would go back.
Absolutely loved our time and we will be back!
Food was great and the service was friendly. The only down side was the bottled beer wasn’t well chilled but understand you are going through a lot due to not having any draft choices at the moment. Would recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing as was the friendly staff. I can highly recommend 5 star
Love this place! Buzzing on a Friday night, busy but service, as always, was fab. Had the delicious sharing board ‘piggy in the middle’, amazing meat, perfectly cooked. Also shared the cauliflower cheese, which might just be the most incredible cauliflower cheese in the world. Well done guys!
Service was on the slow side.
Couldn't fault it.
Steak was great as was cauliflower and Camembert with truffle fries. Exceeded expectations. Only gripe was we had to look for staff a couple of times to get drinks and choice of red by the glass wasn’t great. Would have been happy to pay more for heavier duty red.
Calm and relaxed great service and friendly, polite staff food was great would definitely go again
Lovely meal and great service. Thank you
Amazing piggy in the middle board for 2. Would certainly recommend to friends and family
The food is amazing, absolutely going back! Thank you
Amazing food fab service
An excellent Sunday Lunch experience.... Superb food and wonderfully attentive staff.. Sadly, I think there were more children in there than adults making the atmosphere more akin to a kindergarten than a pub... that would NOT attract me back... however, the food, beer and staff would.. Wobbly tables and chairs, plus the constantly opening of the entrance door (children in and out all the time) meant a cold draft where we had been placed to sit... Without the kindergarten it would be an excellent venue...
I don’t often write reviews but this restaurant deserves at least a few minutes to write one! My wife & I were made to feel very welcome and from arrival big smiles & a professional confident team glided is through a few drinks at the lovely bar area and then through to the restaurant where we had some of the best steaks we’ve ever had. The guys running this place are on their A game and they were all so lovely, happy & hard working it was a pleasure to witness....we definitely won’t forget The Duke...thank you.
We’ve been back to this place every year but unfortunately yesterday, we probably won’t be back. The food is incredible, hats off to the shef but our waiter was clearly not in a happy mood about being at work. He was most unhappy and unhelpful. We sensed it as soon as we were seated! When your paying £350 for a meal you expect the waiters to be jolly and helpful.
Gorgeous food well worth the money
Loved it all!!! Would highly recommend
Callum was amazing! He is the best Host ever! Xx
Great restaurant. Want to visit for a while after seeing on Facebook. Definitely lived up to expectations. X
