About Don't Tell The Duke
Don’t Tell The Duke is a hub for the local community. Open from early morning we will be serving brunch such as our infamous runny wild boar scotch duck egg with crispy bacon on sourdough and tangy tomato relish (the earlybird really does catch the worm!) And, of course, everyone needs that grand cuppa coffee to kick them in to second gear first thing. We serve food from 10am right through until 9pm every day. So whether you are after light veggie options and just avoiding carbs for a few days, we have plenty to keep you occupied.
Our bar area has a capacity of 45 guests and is open until 12am at weekends where we will be offering interactive and quirky cocktails, 14 draft beers along with gin aplenty and 65 bottles of the ol’ plonk. There is also an in house DJ who plays 80s and D.I.S.C.O classics every Friday from 8:30-12:30am.
Our a la carte restaurant will still be serving those mouthwatering steaks and our Infidelity at the Butchery sharer- I mean what blasphemy for even considering to remove such a godly gift from our menu.
So we’d like to think we can offer something for everyone, we’ve even dropped some of our prices without compromising on quality but shhhhh...Don’t Tell The Duke.
Our Commercial ‘About Us’ Brief in a nutshell would be:- we are a unique day and night time haunt to service the locals of North Leeds with Innovative dishes and opulent cocktails- Wow, I pretty much sold my soul there.
Great tasting rare breed Yorkshire Beef done right!
Thank you one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The Chateaubriand was superb along with everything else we ordered. I’ve seen your posts on fb and your food lives up to and exceeded everything we imagined and more !! Will definitely return, how can you not with food and service that good !!!
Great staff ...great food ...quirky and fun if a little pricey.
Lovely place, great food and excellent staff. A couple of things that could’ve made it a better are... 1. the tables could do with being a little further apart for added comfort and space. We were tucked away in a corner which was a little cramped as all the tables are quite close together. 2. The Sunday lunch was amazing but needed a bit more veg to go with all the meat!! Apart from that it was all really lovely and I would definitely return.
Been meaning to visits the restaurant for several years. Service, Food and Atmosphere were all average, but was not anything special for a Saturday night. Tables are a little close together. Would possibly go back mid week, but not a Saturday evening.
Amazing food, staff very helpful and friendly and a credit to them. Highly recommend this place and will be going again in the future!! We only gave 4 stars for the atmosphere due to been a loud place in the bar area and the restaurant next to it. You could hear lots of loud talking, this was on a Saturday night so not sure what it would be like on a weekday. If you can overcome the loudness then you definitely need to book here and they only have 16 tables!
Great Valentines night, fantastic food and lovely atmosphere
An excellent Valentines evening. Thank you for the red rose for my wife which I requested. Even though everyone else received one. My second visit within three days.
I’d never ordinarily leave a comment but my wife and I had such a great evening last night. Great food and service and what I would describe as the most authentically “Yorkshire” restaurant we have ever been to. Highly recommended.
1 starter was wrong. Steak cooked wrong. No sauce with steak, then garlic butter brought out and was solid piece of butter. Ran out of cider! Disappointing really for £45 each on Valentine's set menu.
Had a great evening. Staff were extremely friendly and food was amazing! Will be returning! 😊
My wife and I came 11/02 for lunch to celebrate her birthday. We had recommendations from friends about DTtD and we were really pleased we acted upon those recommendations. Food was delicious, the place was cosy and intimate and the guys on service were friendly, attentive and professional. The truffle and parmesan fries that went with our steak were some of the best fries we have ever tasted. Brilliant. Would (and have already) recommended to other friends. Well done to all at DTtD *thumbs up* emoji
Returned for another great meal, food as I remembered and the service informative and friendly without being intrusive. will be back
Fantastic restaurant with top quality steaks. Friendly staff very professional would highly recommend and will visit again.
We hadn’t been since the change from Sir Dukes to Don’t Tell the Duke and I have to say I was really impressed. Now has a great bar area, would definitely recommend going for a drink on a night out in Wetherby. We had booked a table for food and all had burgers, OMG, amazing. The service is great, atmosphere really good too. We’ll definitely be back.
Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Service was just right. Our sharing boards were delicious. A great meal with a great atmosphere.
great meal. venue was new to me and I'll be returning. Highly recommended
Superb night and superb food
We certainly enjoyed ourselves on our first visit- the staff were really friendly and great. Points to note that can be easily improved:- We were seated next to a closed door its was cool (there is a hole in it) and a couple next to us asked to be moved - she was sleeveless I had the Rib Eye steak - delicious as it was but the cut was too thin for the price charged We would come again ( well wrapped!! ) but the value for money would have to improve to become a regular or to recommend without a little cautionary advice.
I love this place but our recent visit failed to meet our expectations. I’ll start with food and drink. Now, the food and drink is insane! The presentation and flavours are second to none. However we ordered 2 gin and tonics from the menu. We were told both guns they don’t actualky serve anymore and they’d run out of one if he mixed options. What we were offered instead was nice but why have a menu if we can’t use it?! Food was delicious but we only realised after we’d left that our £70 sharing platter was missing one of the components- cured salmon. That left us feeling disappointed too. The atmosphere was BUZZING. Literally. It was Saturday night and there wasn’t much to separate the rammed bar area and the cosy eating area. Unfortunately a group of over excited, intoxicated women in the bar area meant we couldn’t actually hear each other during our meal- not ideal. Service was ok...we were left without a menu to begin with for quite a while and had to ask for a drinks menu. It was busy but considering thy only have like 10 tables and at least 3 staff working in that area I would have expected a little faster service! And value for money. It is expensive but we feel it’s worth it. But last night- maybe not. We had 2 starters, 3 gins, 1 coke, a sharing platter and 2 desserts and it came to £132. The food was amazing like I said but the deafening noise from the bar really ruined our night. We will be returning but 100% not on a Saturday.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Staff were outstanding - so attentive and helpful.
Restaurant could have been warmer. Food mediocre. Can't understand why only French fries (no proper chips) available to order with steak I suspect that my sirloin steak was ribeye. Wife's pasta dish with prawns and salmon was poor. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was the highlight.
Lovely meal and drinks! Staff were very helpful and friendly, will definitely be returning in the future.
This place is amazing! Literally came upon it whilst passing through - saw the roast dinners and booked ourselves in immediately! Customer service was faultless, as was the food. We had the roast dinner to share, which was immense. We finished every last bit, it was all top quality food and cooked to perfection. Also had room for a coffee and dessert (to share), had the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Great choice of wines too. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Sharing boards too big to be served on high tables, not enough room to eat.
