About Don't Tell The Duke
Don’t Tell The Duke is a hub for the local community. Open from early morning we will be serving brunch such as our infamous runny wild boar scotch duck egg with crispy bacon on sourdough and tangy tomato relish (the earlybird really does catch the worm!) And, of course, everyone needs that grand cuppa coffee to kick them in to second gear first thing. We serve food from 11am right through until 9pm every day. So whether you are after light veggie options and just avoiding carbs for a few days, we have plenty to keep you occupied.
Our bar area has a capacity of 45 guests and is open until 12am at weekends where we will be offering interactive and quirky cocktails, 14 draft beers along with gin aplenty and 65 bottles of the ol’ plonk. There is also an in house DJ who plays 80s and D.I.S.C.O classics every Friday from 8:30-12:30am.
So we’d like to think we can offer something for everyone, we’ve even dropped some of our prices without compromising on quality but shhhhh...Don’t Tell The Duke.
Our Commercial ‘About Us’ Brief in a nutshell would be:- we are a unique day and night time haunt to service the locals of North Leeds with Innovative dishes and opulent cocktails- Wow, I pretty much sold my soul there.
Great tasting rare breed Yorkshire Beef done right!
Delicious meal, friendly service. Only negative was that the triple cooked chips were very dry and tasteless
The small plates are interesting but amazing Regards our steaks... I would comment the best we have had !
Beautiful place, good food, staff were excellent.
Great place well worth travelling from Doncaster foods was amazing and staff were brilliant will be back again
Excellent food with great service
Excellent Sunday dinner with fantastic provision by the chef and waitress on the food my son with anaphylaxis to dairy, egg and nuts could have. However, one suggestion would be to have a speedster frier for allergy customers to be sure there is no cross contamination.
Visited many times but tonight unfortunately disappointing tonight , the food was average and the service was really poor Drinks orders were wrong and constantly having to try gain attention of a member of staff Unfortunately won’t be returning in a hurry
Excellent food & very pleasant staff Our first visit & will be returning
I telephoned twice-once to make the booking, then to change it! Both times the gentleman was very polite, helpful and professional. This was echoed when we turned up. The service and attitude of all the staff was exceptional. Prompt but not pushy, welcoming our little dog as much as we were welcomed, service excellent and food to die for! we had the sunday platter to share and was fantastic-if anything, we would have liked more vegetables, but that is not a criticism. To sum it up-quirky yet good olde fashioned service as it should be, amazing food - and I am shouting about it to everyone! Many thanks, see you soon!
Food was great good interaction from staff very attentative and helpful
Fantastic meal so well cooked, and very tasty. The service was excellent and we were made to feel so welcome. Cant wait to come back
Really enjoyed the food and the staff are so courteous and friendly
Service was fantastic and so was the food
Came here for the first time on Saturday evening. Great food, great service and a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely come again
First time visiting ‘Don’t tell the Duke’ the place was buzzing. Staff immediately engaged us and whilst drinks were organised we were shown to our table. We knew our booking was for an hour and three quarters as there was another booking straight after us. We were on high stools which I found unusual especially as I am a 60 something! Dietary requirements taken on the phone as was a card number to deduct £10 pp for a no show! Have never had that before! Food was not as good as expected. You literally get what you order....steak alone on its plate...side orders extra. My fillet steak and my husband’s rib eye were over cooked and definitely not medium! Onion rings were overdone too. Starters and desserts were good. Service was A1.
Staff always friendly and food always tasty!
Great food and atmosphere
The young lady that serviced us was lovely and friendly
Very good service and very nice food. Slightly pricey but we all enjoyed our visit. Would like to visit again!
Another visit to DTTD, the food was amazing.sadly a couple of the things that we wanted weren’t available, because it had been a busy Sunday, however it meant that we tried a couple of slightly unusual things. The banana blossom is amazing! The main event is the steak, which was cooked to perfection, great charred crusting full of flavour, and a perfect pink soft centre that just melts. If we have just one negative comment, it’s that even compared to London, some of the prices seemed high however realise that this does need to be viewed in the context of the stunning quality of the food! Oh and the sweetshop gin is insane! Saving up to come back again!
First time visiting dukes! What an amazing little find - we will definitely be back. So nice to go somewhere that not only serves great food but delivers an amazing consistent service too! Every member of the floor team were super friendly and efficient! Fantastic!
Nice friendly staff looked after us
Great food, great staff
Been many times but first time for Sunday lunch. Absolutely incredible sharing board.
Brilliant staff and atmosphere, very welcoming, fun decor, good food. Music possibly a little too loud as had a table of 6 and struggled to hear people at the other end of the table. Overall v impressed and would recommend to anyone!
