About The Dolphin Inn
We are a small family owned and family operated business, we are proud members of our community and concerned citizens of our environment. Our shared values and principles are central to our business and our values often go deeper than simply benefitting the family, but also the wider community in which we operate including projects supporting charities that fit our personal mission.
Our butcher in Aldeburgh ensures that all of our meat is not only sourced as locally as possible but also of the best quality. Our fish comes directly from the markets in Lowestoft sourced only from sustainable stocks. Our bread is from the famous Pump Street bakery in Orford and delivered fresh on a daily basis.
Our greengrocer in Leiston is able to offer some top locally grown produce whilst during the warmer months we have daily deliveries of fruit and veg that has been cut just minutes before it arrives from the local allotment just a stones throw away. Even the milk we use is from a local dairy.
It doesn’t stop with food - our offering on the bar also boasts some great local names. Aspall not only makes the vinegar you put on your chips but is much better known for its award winning cider. You can’t come to Suffolk and not have a pint of Adnams, from Southwold just up the coast.
Really nice meal as usual
Excellent food and service. We will be back.
Many thanks for lovely Sunday lunch
Impressed,good service and great food.
Most amazing fish pie! We will book another holiday in Thorpeness just to come back here. So impressed. Felt safe and covid secure. Complements to the chef!
Was really lovely experience, food was lovely, steak was amazing one of the best we’ve had! Service was really lovely! All staff were friendly and accommodating! Would recommend to a friend and would deffo come back :)
Loved everything, especially wonderful food and happy helpful staff!
We chose the Dolphin at short notice as we were in the area for a few days, lovely setting, really nice food and excellent service. A really good experience overall. Would recommend!!
Top quality service, food was absolutely delicious
The speed of service was very slow- 30 minutes before our drink arrived, and specific asks around how we wanted our burger done, which was then over cooked. I have eaten and drunk at the dolphin many times before and have loved it, but was particularly disappointed by the service this time.
A bit cold. Would be great to get some garden heaters
Just bit cold as no heaters but hey that's OK
Thought the food was fantastic and the entire young waiting staff were excellent.
Great to return to drinking and eating at The Dolphin. Well kept cask beers, tasty food, friendly service. Covid-secure outside dining this time - can't wait to get back to them being in fuller swing and being able to be indoors if it's cold out!
So great to sit out with friends in the rain but under a shelter. Good food & drink & great service. What’s not to like.
The outside area is lovely, but I can’t wait o eat indoors!
Great outside dining, lovely to see the pub so busy
Generally good lunchtime experience but lost stars because desert was served without the ice cream described on the menu, and water was served in plastic disposable cups.
Great lunch in the sunny garden! It was lovely to be out again.
Love this place. Food and service great. A must for anybody visiting the Suffolk coast.
The fish pie was really, really good. Staff were attentive, pleasant and efficient. All in all a great meal.
Wine was rather expensive. Although very nice
We’ll be back!
Fantastic meal the flavours were amazing really would like the chef to cook for me at home, I did try to steal him 😆 excellent service, 10 out of 10 all 3 of us had a fabulous meal a must for any visitor’s.
