Despite the restrictions and limited menu I think all staff done a fantastic job, yeah there was a little wait for food but what do people expect when we are all having to learn a new way of dining out at the moment! Food was lovely! Staff were lovely! And for all the people that was complaining don’t bother eating out! The staff member were brilliant!!
Brilliant vegan and vegetarian choices and excellent service
The chef couldn't have done more to please us cooking for a very fussy eater! Staff delightful and friendly. Despite the wind the scenery was very enjoyable and the atmosphere with friendly customers with their dogs was a great. Having never been in an 'igloo' before this was indeed pleasurable being zipped in and out of the wind.
We’ve had a lovely time in Dog In A Doublet last night, we were worried about what it would be like now that you’re only allowed to sit outside due to restrictions and with the weather being not so good, but it has really exceeded our expectations, we’ve had the most delicious food in a cosy water proof pod really enjoying ourselves:) Can’t wait to come back again so sit on the lovely sofas outside when the weather improves!
Absolutely fantastic food. Staff very attentive and friendly. Overall brilliant Sunday lunch out two weeks in a row
Unfortunately they had run out of alot of food but the food we did have was good.
Service was a bit slow to the point of going to get someone, also didn't like seeing dog and goats around cooking area. Apart from that food was full of flavour and would deffo go again.
Great service and great food 👍
Booking system needs reviewing, booked a table for 9.30am assuming they did breakfast got there and it was closed
Never had a bad meal here and it’s just pure class. Chef is a genius and you can tell there is a lot of heart and passion that goes into the food. The team can’t do enough for you and I can’t wait to go back. The dog also loves it there too 🤣
Absolutely perfect. There is nothing not to like. Food is outstanding, service is friendly, welcoming. A very relaxed atmosphere. The food here wouldn't be out of place in fancy restaurant, paying 3 times the price! 100% recommend.
Absolutely awful service from start to finish - utterly disorganised, Waitresses seemed to have no idea what they were doing. We were asked if we have ordered food about four times, there was no wine list or ability for the waitresses to even tell us what was available, food (one course) took well over an hour to arrive. Pricing seemed random - the pizza was more expensive than brocolli side order. Food quality was pretty good tbf. 100% would not recommend and won't be returning. Dreadful.
We had a great evening with friends here on Saturday night. Great food and lovely outdoor seating area. We'll be back soon!
Very friendly servers and as I’m a Coeliac very accommodating with the food choices
Absolutely amazing food, would give more than 5 stars if I could!
We absolutely love coming here. The food is unbelievable and you are never disappointed. Always a great menu, and you always leave full! A real diamond.
Booked this table early and got there For no tables to be available, staff didn’t really care, waited 45 minutes for our table to be sat on the table with dirty food on it when in the current situation I’d imagine these places to be clean yet this hadn’t even been wiped! Then got asked if we had been offered a drink after 45 mins and still No one came! Unfortunately we had to leave and don’t think we will be coming back after this poor experience
No real organisation, no saved tables for pre bookings, no waitress communication, no table number, no name taken for booking, no order taken only after giving it, no drinks offered while waited and seated, after waiting an hour and several talks with waitresses, our food was brought out! Then only for the food to be luke warm, Yorkshire was a brick, stuffing was a stone.. didn’t get given cutlery with our said warm’ish’ dinner. Overall a disappointing experience after such hype.. would have been better take away as they seemed to have priority. Probably won’t go again, least not while outdoor dining. As it was the first week of reopening, I’d hope this is a one off.
Unfortunately having been given a recommendation from friends to dine there, I would not go back in current circumstances. Booked online and confirmed booking only to find disorganisation. Waitress clearly never waited on tables or bar before, did not know what drinks they had in the bar, no menu’s many people awaiting menu’s, drinks and food. We waited an hour then left hungry. If you know how many people have booked tables why do you not have experienced staff and plenty of them to serve your guests? You’ve been shut for a year and this is how you prepare when you open. Bizarre, sorry wouldn’t go back.
2 hours wait for a carvery meal which was very salty indeed. I know we’re just out of lockdown, but was really very poor on all fronts.
Really disappointing visit. After coming for our Christmas meal we recommended this place to our friends to come out for our first meal out. From start to finish it just wasn’t great at all. The waitress I’m not sure if she’s new but she didn’t seem interested at all, look like she really didn’t want to be there to be honest. We had to ask for our drinks to be taken, 30 minute wait for starters which were unfortunately cold. Our starters were then not even cleared from the table. Our table was booked at 1, we was still there at 3pm with still no mains. We asked on an update due and was told ‘you’re up next we got other tables out the way before yours’ the mains were Luke warm. Such a shame because it was so so good in December our bill was £300 so we returned. Not sure if there’s been a change in staff but the service was terrible. To pay £30-40 each for cold food & we eventually left at 3:45pm after eating and going in and sorting the bill ourselves. Who knows what time we’d of been there too if we didn’t ask for everything. Such a shame we won’t be coming back anytime soon.
I booked a table but there was no table available when we turned up at our booked time. After 15 minutes we got a table. Beer selection was limited and no real ale options. Only one white wine was offered. Service was slow. We only had two drinks each but would have had more if service was quicker. Food was very good and well priced. Overall it was to great to visit a pub again, you just need a better beer selection and slicker service. Will definitely visit again. Loved the visit by Olive and Peaches (goats).
Fantastic! Food was great, staff are lovely and you get great value for money. We’ll definitely be back again!
Even though you was having work being carried out on site at the time of my visit, you still kept the high standards of food being delivered from the start to the end of our time there. Thank you Jon and team x
Hi there I didn’t have food, I booked but couldn’t make it unfortunately This is not a one star review as I never attended for food
