Dilli serves an adventurous range of veg and non-veg curries, inspired by the home-style cooking from the regions of Uttapradesh, Chettinad, Mangalore and Pondicherry. Showcasing bhuna pot roasts and Parsi dishes, crisp clothes and polished mahogany set the scene for a banquet of warmly spiced food. Starters could include tandoori saffron prawns or scallops peri peri while for the main event creamy Goan fish curry is a best seller. Meats like lamb with pickled spices and stuffed, sub-nose green chillies are well executed alongside central Indian specials such as crispy baby spinach with rice and chickpea batter and topped with yogurt and tamarind date dip (Palak Patta Chaat). Pair with a lemony tarka daal, fresh raita and bread baked to order. The carrot-based, spiced condensed milk-packed Elachi Gajar Ka Halwa is strictly for the sweet of tooth. The only real flaw is a slightly predictable winelist.
