Dehesa is a charcuterie and tapas bar inspired by the cuisine of Spain and Italy. It opened in January 2008 and is the sister restaurant to Salt Yard in Fitzrovia and Opera Tavern in Covent Garden, offering sharing dishes served in a relaxed environment. The restaurant is named after the Dehesa- a unique woodland area in Spain which is home to the black-footed Ibérico pigs – said to produce the best ham in the world. This reflects our commitment to quality and provenance and our dedication to carefully sourced products. Pop in to share a board of the finest Jamón Ibérico carved to order along with a plate of manchegos with quince – accompanied with a glass of cold Fino.
Try some courgette flowers stuffed with goats’ cheese and drizzled with honey or some chargrilled tiger prawns with smoked garlic butter and rosemary- washed down with a glass of crisp Albariño. Or how about chargrilled lamb chops with fresh peas, broad beans and mint and a glass of Pinot Nero. Bookings taken for lunch and dinner Monday to Friday as well as Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch. Our Private Dining Room is available to book lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and Sunday lunch.
Service was quite slow which has never happened before. Forgot about one of our dishes too.
The staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly, attentive, fun and thoughtful. I was very impressed!! Food was fantastic, as expected, but the service made it truly special. My friends birthday was very kindly acknowledged, as were the needs of one of our guests who was pregnant Thank you to the team!!
We booked the private dining room and reservation was easy to make and good communication with team before the event. On the evening service was good, they accommodated my friend with allergens who could order al a carte. We missed one dish from the menu but they allowed us to have an extra pudding instead. The dishes were on the small side but all the food was very high quality and delicious. It was a similar price to having a meal al a carte though and with a big group so much easier to have a set menu then ordering individual dishes. The menu was very varied. The room itself was lovely and would be great for any event. Would definitely book again!
Very enjoyable lunch
What an absolutely lovely evening. It made a significant birthday go with a bang, such a joy and so easy. The food was stunning and our waiter was very attentive. Perfect room for a private party. just loved it. thank you x
Cosy, delicious food, one of my favourite spots
Everyone enjoyed the dinner and the private room was a really nice space for our group ; food was very good and there was plenty of it ; bill seemed to mount up a bit but was reasonable value .
Fantastic meal for a 40th Birthday. Service was excellent and each dish delicious.
Good service, would have liked a bit more variety on the menu but what we ate was delicious
Lovely venue with great cosy feel. The food was tasty with great/ quick service. My only negative was value for money as the tapas dishes are a bit small for the price e.g. £8-9 prawn with squid ink only gives you 3 prawns.
Lovely food and very friendly staff. Will definitely go back!
A lovely evening
Fantastic food and service, lovely wines and an enjoyable atmosphere. Wish you had croquettes on the menu but that is my only gripe - bunuelos nowhere near as good
Great staff and a restaurant we always love to eat at when we’re in London
Food was good, but expensive and the place was hot. Felt a bit rushed. Opera tavern was much cosier
All the food was cold (obviously some were Meant to be cold but some were Meant to be hot) Excellent service Not as good as opera tavern or salt yard which we go to regularly
Vi hade en fantastisk upplevelse med både mat och service! Vi kommer tillbaka!
Excellent food, original dishes high quality ingredients and beautifully presented. I have been a regular here for 5 years and love the relaxed bar-like atmosphere. Still unrivalled in this space.
Excellent in every way ... we will return and use the Private Room again
Poor service - felt like we rushed in and rushed out to accommodate the queues. Food was not worth the price - small portions, cold parsnip?? I fully understand the concept of tapas being from Spain myself but there was no flow to the food, the waitress took no interest in us. Ember yard is lovely and we had a great meal there, I will not be returning here.
I come back time and time again to Dehesa when visiting London as I simply adore this little central restaurant. The food is exquisite and the atmosphere is quaint
A very enjoyable light lunch
Really good food and wine!
