Average food. Too cramped and noisy. No sense of accordion despite the venue.
Lovely evening on a table with a superb view of London. Service was friendly and not pretentious. Food was superb.
Had a great time!
We absolutely loved our trip to the Darwin Brasserie. Everything about it was amazing. The food was stunning and the atmosphere made our night so fabulous. We will definitely be back soon!
Lovely food, views and fantastic service from our waiter Xavier. The restaurant was very noisy that was our only (slight) issue but there was a very large Christmas party there at the time! Never the less would recommended.
I booked for my work xmas dinner last Thursday. It was my choice and i was embarrassed. We didn’t pay the service charge because three soups were cold and the wrong dessert was brought three times for one if our party. Just get the basics right.
Had our work Christmas Party here, everyone had a lovely time. Food was superb, atmosphere was great and the views were stunning. The service was brilliant - our waiter Xavier couldn’t do enough for our table so a special thank you to him !
I ordered a burger. The waiter did not ask how I wanted it cooked. When it arrived it was very well done. When I queried this with the manager she said that the policy was to cook burgers in that way. If this is the case then it really should be written on the menu. I would never have ordered that dish if I had known it would be served those way. My partner had a lamb tagine, which was not a tagine at all, rather a chunk of lamb with a spoonful of cous cous haphazardly put on the plate. The lamb was at least 1/3 fat and the meat was so dry it was inedible. The manager graciously took this off the bill. But the menu is limited so I was surprised at the poor quality of the food. And this was not a unique issue as the table next to us had to send back a steak as it was not cooked properly. These are basic dishes and I honestly do not understand how a kitchen in such a restaurant could get these dishes so wrong.
Let's be honest, you go for the view and the food can't really compete with that.
Very nice staff . Food good but not excellent . Atmosphere noisy but fun . Tables very close together. Stunning views
Additionally, we could enjoy the stunning panoramic view of London Town Centre
What a great experience, the view is absolutely georgious and the food was delicious
Great place for Breakfast with a view
We we’re very much looking forward to celebrating my mum’s birthday at Darwin Brasserie, unfortunately we left feeling rather disappointed. First of all we were sat in the middle of the restaurant, and unlike some of the restaurants in The Shard, the booth set up, meant we could not see the view and could have been sat in any old restaurant. This would have not been the end of the world had the service and food been at the standard we had expected. The waitress went on to upsell us some bread, but rather than letting us sit down and settle in for a bit, our main courses were then served 2 minutes after the bread came out. Making us feel rushed from the start. She could not muster a smile throughout and was very pushy when trying to sell us a wine from the specials list. Once we had finished, she asked if we had enjoyed it. At this point we offered some feedback and let her know that we weren’t very impressed by the fish cake as it was mostly mashed potato and had to search to find a small bit of fish. To this, all she did was shrug and walk away. Overall, expect to pay a mark up for the location despite not being able to see the view, for OK food and subpar service.
Amazing venue and fantastic breakfast/brunch
On this occasion Pheasant was hugely overcooked and spoilt a nice evening.
a bit too much noise and loud music to be able to enjoy each other and the view. okay service but could have been better. the food was amazing
Nice brasserie with great views over London. Drinks & Food are good but you have to dig deeper into your pocket ... but the view compensates reasonably for that ;)
As always, a very enjoyable experience. Great staff and delicious food!
Can Diet Coke be much smaller?! The smallest bottle coke I ever saw in a restaurant in my life but the price is not as smaller!
Lovely lunch, lovely surroundings
Great views, food quality was solid. Good wine selection. However the level of service was much below what should have been provided. It started well with a warm greeting and seating however the waiter was absent for most of the lunch. Water for guests was not poured, took a very long time to get their attention for ordering (which given the strict 1.5hr turnaround requested on the booking confirmation) was concerning. Luckily they did not insist on this but all guest noted that service was far from attentive. The restaurant was busy but that should not detract from the service.
Food was very poor and service quite slow.
Atmosfera stupenda, cocktail e cena molto buoni con una vista fantastica. Ne vale davvero la pena!! Consigliatissimo
