Please bear with us while we try to cope with a huge surge in the number of customers coming to the restaurant. There may be a 30-45 mins delay in the service as a result. We are doing our best and thank you for your understanding.
The moment we stepped into the restaurant we were welcomed and felt at home. The menu is fantastic and staff show real knowledge of the food, taking the time to explain, including warm, personal recommendations from the proprietor, who is clearly excited by her food. This personal touch helped to make the meal an exciting pleasure . The flavours and range are the best Indian food we have tasted outside India. Our visit was an important anniversary which was made more memorable by the warm and caring way we were hosted. Thanks very much
Ottima cucina, ci siamo trovate bene, speriamo di poter tornare e lo raccomandiamo ad amici che visiteranno Londra. Grazie Francesca Ravaglia
Best food I have tasted at an Indian restaurant in London for years. Incredible ! Thank you
We booked a table for the next available weekend which turned out to be 6months away but, it sure was worth the wait. The best food I have eaten all with an amazing atmosphere. We have just booked again and looking forward to being back in another 6months time!
A very hands on restaurant with friendly service and a real feeling that they care about the food they produce . It was elegant home cooking and all delicious , as were the cocktails . Maybe it is the all woman workforce (apart from the barman!) but this is very different and enjoyable experience .
Please do biryani outside of supper club days.
Lovely overall experience. Service wasn't up to standard, I had to ask twice for somebody to take our order, and we were left with our menus for 30 minutes, please bare in mind the restaurant was not busy at this time of day. Also, the menu isn't extensive (which we loved), but we didn't need that long to decide what we wanted. Food was delicious. The Puchkos and Prawns were out of this world. However, a little disappointed as the goat and mince curry needed a lot of salt. Curry's were a little too oily for our preference, but still very nice in texture and in flavour. The halwa was nice but overdone and somewhat stodgy, and when adding the cream it became wet. Having a little pot of masala chai tea was incredible, warmed me up on a miserable rainy day. Thank you for having us.
Food was wonderful. We will definitely come back.
Staff were a little sultry. I wasn't seated to my table. A lady just pointed and then got distracted with the till. Didn't make the experience special.
The food was delicious! It took a awhile to be recognized for service ñ, but when they finally came around, the service was pretty decent.
The food was outstanding. Enjoyed everything we ordered - especially the goat curry.
Amazing. Everything - from the table to the food to the service.
We had to wait quite long for the food to arrive. We were told that this was because we wanted the starters and mains at the same time. If we were told this at the time we placed the order it would have helped. Instead I ended up doubting the efficiency of the concerned staff member thinking she might have forgotten our order mainly because she did not write it down The female touch is very apparent in the complete atmosphere of the place which is a very refreshing and welcoming. Way to go!
A wonderful evening! The ambience was relaxed and welcoming. The staff lovely and the food delicious.
It was even better than I hoped, and I had high expectations. The venue is small and homely, the service friendly and professional but not formal and the food is heavenly.
Delicious food and great atmosphere..... really nice to speak to Ms Khan too
The food was absolutely incredible and the restaurant is in a very cool part of town.
I was very excited and highly awaiting my reservation here and was amazed it exceed expectations. The flavors were incredible, menu variety was amazing, and value was unexpected. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu.
Dish for dish, this was among the most pleasing Indian meals I have ever eaten outside of India. I booked a table at 6 pm--which is when DX opens for dinner so we could get in and out in between the two parts if the Harry Potter play in the West End. I had read about Asma Khan and her restaurant all the way from Chicago and wanted to have one great Indian meal in London. No regrets that this is the spot I selected. The heart of the meal was the way that individual seasonings and spices were treated to bring out their essence. We realized immediately that there was something special going on with the garlic prawns that came first. Then the lentil fritters had a completely different flavor profile, but also fully developed. That's I guess what I would say: everything we are tasted the potential of the flavors had been completely understood and brought out. We let the waitress order for us, once we laid out sooner basic parameters, and her choices were perfect. The staff told me when I made the reservation a couple of months ahead of time that we would be on time for our play and they had a note about that in our reservation record. We got back just in time to catch our breath before curtain. Next time I'll budget a little longer to try dessert and linger a bit. We were also fortunate that Asma bright one of our dishes herself--as she seemed to do for a number of tables. We got to chat with her about food, about her cookbook, and her upcoming challenge to cook a meal in less than 10 minutes on TV. Though situated in a chic new mall, the place ended up feeling like family. I can't say enough about how much we appreciated and enjoyed everything about this meal.
Had to book 4 months in advance and it’s totally worth the hype and more
All of our food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. What a lovely lunch!
We love the food..it is very authentic. Everything we ordered far exceeded our expectation. However, we would love for Darjeeling express to add plain white basmati rice to the menu and a biryani dish instead of reserving a date for it. We will always come back! We love you guys!
Great meal as usual! I love the beet root raita really complemented the goat!
