About Cyprus Avenue
Cyprus Avenue is a licenced, neighbourhood brasserie based in Ballyhackamore. Previously a derelict building, the family owned business was opened in December 2016 serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The restaurant has recently doubled in size, with the addition of a new outside dining area furnished using reclaimed solid teak table. During renovations, an 80 year old terrazzo floor was discovered and reconditioned to add an ‘urban chic’ feel to the premises.
The menu is dictated by seasonality, using locally sourced produce. Portraits of the suppliers hang on the walls of the restaurant to demonstrate to the guests where their food comes from. The restaurant has 60,000 bees located on its roof providing urban honey used in many dishes from its daily changing menu.
My partner's Salmon starter was inedible, both mains were shockingly poor, desserts redeemed the evening somewhat. Sat near a couple who obviously had connections to the restaurant- they were showered with free drinks and larger portions all night which only highlighted the issues with our food. Waitress was lovely and brought out a replacement main dish as the duck my partner ordered could have been revived by a competent veterinarian. Went on Valentines Day night and on reflection will struggle to find a reason to return. Nice atmosphere though.
Anotuer super meal.
Excellent meal, excellent service.
Fantastic 3 course meal here for Valentines Day. Lovely wine recommended to us by a friendly and attentive waitress.
Very efficient service Excellent dining experience
Excellent service - 2 waiters very accommodating to our group. More than happy to serve cake for one of our party’s birthday which was very kind. 3 courses for £17 was great value and loved the sharing starters and dessert, different and very tasty! I was glad to see a veggie alternative to the duck pancake starter and the mushrooms were lovely. Couldn’t say a bad word overall - lovely atmosphere, busy enough for a Monday night but unsurprising as this place is such a delight. Would gladly return for another meal!
Really enjoyed the meal and service was very pleasant.
Excellent food and service
Have eaten here before but this was first visit since expansion. Overall it was fine. I would recommend to try but menu can be bit adventurous.
Really lovely host and great food!
Really enjoyable lunch
Food was lovely but we were shown to our table and then forgotten about for 10 mins. We waited after we finished our breakfast for another 10 mins to order coffee but no waiting staff came over even though some were standing around chatting - we decided to leave and get coffee elsewhere. Pity as the food was really nice.
Had a lovely meal. Great atmosphere. Really nice staff. One girl in particular waa lovely. Dont know her name, had long fair hair. Starters and mains were lovely
Unfortunately, this review is a bad one. Not one of our party was satisfied with the food we were served. The falafel portion was so small and unfilling, the duck failed to impress anyone in the party, 2 people paid an extra £7 only to have a steak given to them with literally nothing else on the plate. No garnish or sauce. They weren’t given a side portion of chips, and when they asked, though promised, it never came. The burgers were found to be dry. Desserts were barely touched in most instances. The coconut and chocolate bomb was so disappointing. The ice cream had the strangest texture and lacked any real coconut flavour. No one knew that the creme brûlée was flavoured. Many did not like that either. Overall, we feel we did not get value for money at all. For that price and the menu that we were given, we had high hopes for a lovely evening. I feel I must add that we go out for meals every few months and never have we experienced a meal that has led to having to leave a poor review. Our bill totalled nearly £800 and it is awful to think that it could have been better spent elsewhere. We simply can not recommend Cyprus avenue to anyone for food.
Lady at front desk couldnt find our reservation at 1st. Latte was only half full in cup and Luke warm Kids breakfast, 4 year old couldnt get his mouth round the thick slices of HARD bread, sausages were very pale, not the normal pork sausage you would expect. places try to be fancy but kids just want normal toast that they can eat. We ordered 2 cooked breakfasts, they were served Without the fried egg and mushrooms!!!! This should be embarrassing for both the cook and waitress - lack of attention to detail here! Our fry was almost eaten before we received the missing items on a side plate 10 mins later!!!! 1st visit & last visit.....this was a birthday breakfast for my husband. We found the restaurant online with good reviews too!! £30 for 2 breakfasts and kids meal, 2 coffees and tea..... should have stayed at home lol
Hi Guy's, what a great meal. Everything was perfect, with a menu that I could have easily been happy withordering any of the dishes on offer, Great service, warm and friendly ambience, and beautiful food. Thanks again
Really good food and atmosphere, very reasonable price for the standard of dining. Would recommend to anyone and will be back!
Always a great experience. Great food and service. Drinks and wine selection pretty good also.
Lovely place with great food! Planning a return visit soon
A fantastic meal once again! The treacle cured beef was melt in the mouth!
Consistently great food. Highly recommended.
Food was super tasty, best we have had in a while :) Cocktails were also fabulous 😉
Superb restaurant! Fabulous atmosphere! Never disappointed!
My favourite Ballyhackamore coffee lunch and dinner place.
Absolutely outstanding food tonight, had the specials beef ravioli to start and the fish mixed grill, oh my word the tastes were wonderful and the amount of food for the price and quality was fabulous. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful happy people. Can’t wait to go back.
