About Curry Leaf Cafe – Brighton Lanes
The original Curry Leaf Cafe is located in the heart of Brighton's bustling Lanes, just a couple of minutes' walk from the beach. Its colourful, laid-back 75-seat dining space – decked out with exposed brick walls, wooden tables and vintage Indian design touches – operates as a cafe-cum-lunch spot during the day, offering a range of coffees, teas, snacks and traditional South Indian street food, as well as more substantial meals such as thali platters & dosai. In the evenings diners can experience the cafe’s small but diverse dinner menu of tandoor-grilled meats, street food dishes and expertly spiced curries, accompanied by the UK's best range of craft beers. All ingredients are sourced locally where possible, and around half of the menu is vegan. A wide selection of gluten-free dishes is also on offer throughout the day.
Love the Curry Leaf, food and staff are great.
Always wonderful flavours in an atmospheric setting with excellent service . Perhaps incorporate some of your street food lunch menu in your evening menu too? Then everything would be perfect !
Having booked online, we arrive to be told that they had forgotten to check their bookings and had not known we were coming, and that they had also run out of almost everything. We had to go and dine elsewhere. Luckily, there is another nice Indian that accommodated us 50 metres to the right of this one!
We had a table at 9pm and after a very pleasant dinner we tried for over 15min to get in contact with the staff to order one more drink. It wasn’t possible so we finally just paid and left. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here, the service was entire good enough for what you pay.
Excellent meal. Great atmosphere. Very generous portions. Yo
Delicious food, good beer, value for money. Good atmosphere, nice place to sit.
The best Indian food I have ever eaten. The menu although small was very different to any other Indian food I have tried. There were 4 of us and we shared our food. We all loved it. If we come back to Brighton we will definitely eat here again. Such a friendly relaxing place.
Serving staff particularly our waiter that night were amazing. Very helpful and considerate.
We are a family of 5 spending a weeks holiday in Brighton and this has been our favourite dining experience so far. We recommend the sea bass and lamb curries however the garlic and spring onion naan was to die for!
Absolutely beautiful food and the craft beer went so well with it. Highly recommend this place and I live in Birmingham the curry capital lol!
A busy Wednesday evening that appeared to be running really smoothly! We enjoyed delicious curries and poppadoms and didn’t feel rushed to leave after finishing our food. We enjoyed the atmosphere while we chatted some more!
Absolutely great dining experience fantastic food and excellent service - 5 stars all round So pleased to hear there is a restaurant in Bicester that we will visit for sure
First timers. Amazing food, Friendly team. Will visit again when back in Brighton, but in the meantime will check out the pop up in bicester village :)
Lovely food and a great atmosphere. This place has become a firm favourite.
Great service and enjoyed the distinctive flavours and presentation of the dishes. Really sensibly priced too.
Curry Leaf is our most favourite restaurant, just amazing food and drink and lovely atmosphere. 10/10
Staff were very confused with orders and on more than one occasion gave us wrong dishes taking them away and swapping them. We were given other customers orders and then apologised too as one starter cam 15 mins before our other starters . We were then told it was some other tables dish and it would be complimentary due to mix up but were still charged. Overall I felt prices were expensive for vegan/veg options. Very disappointed.
Lovely little restaurant. Good Food, Good staff - really very helpful and friendly. Our party was running late and they changed booking time without a problem. The only thing to note is there isn't many options on the menu and a few of them are spicy. If I could change anything it would change would be more options (More meat, less spicy) Although the staff were helpful advising we could have cream to make it less spicy or even more spices if we wanted it more spicy. Overall very helpful and good experience. I would come here again.
Lovely place and great food. Lovely range of choices and really delicious meals.
Nice food. A bit noisy. Service could be more attentive. Though it was a busy Saturday evening.
10 of us for a business dinner. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and service was great also.
Worst food taste.. serving a curry dish without naan or rice.. the mix veg curry had raw okra in it.. served with pauha and very dry tiny tiny mini uttapam .. could not get round to eating that dish .. ordered popdams which were also not fresh... service was good from staff but food was appauling.. not the best curry place..
Excellent food and service. Advice and suggestions from the waiter really adequate. A good address for a meal out with a pleasant decoration and atmosphere.
