As usual excellent.
Since a friend recommended the Cup, we always pop in for lunch when we're in Glasgow (which is usually each weekend), we have been fortunate to be seated without booking (although it is always busy). Food is lovely, although I'm limited to what to have , due to being a vegetarian who doesn't like cheese!
Everything was lovely, except for the cupcakes which were dry and tasteless...a bit annoying especially as I bought a few extra to take home to share. Perhaps a case of style over substance? Wouldn't stop us from returning though! X
I was treating my friend Fiona to afternoon tea for her 50th birthday and the whole experience was absolutely lovely. The waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. The food was just delicious. Could have done with a larger pot of tea each though.
You had been recommended by my daughter who had been once before. We took my mum for a 90th birthday surprise with her granddaughters and she thoroughly enjoyed her tea, cakes and scones just like a high tea years ago. We arrived early, as it's difficult to judge when wheeling someone around in a wheelchair, how long everything takes. It wasn't a problem for the staff though and our table was ready so we got in straight away and didn't have to wait. The young ones also really enjoyed the gin teapot!!!! Thanks again for making us so welcome.
We were on an itison voucher. The Morning Tea is a breakfast twist on Afternoon Tea and is a great experience. The tea lounge is beautiful with the most unusual victorian tiled interior. I asked if we could have tea other than breakfast or Earl Gray and they very kindly agreed. BUT I chose a white tea which had a 5 minute brew and this had the consequence that I had to wait a few minutes after our food stand arrived before my tea was served. We asked the waitress about our tea and we were given the explanation of the 5 minute brew. It would just have been nice if they had told the kitchen to hold our food for 5 minutes for the tea. That aside we had a delicious breakfast which comprised Yoghurt with Muesli and red berries, a trio of brioche buns filled with (link) sausage, bacon and hash brown. Mini plain and fruit scones with Cup's own preserve and butter and danish pastries. I'm not so keen on the carb with carb combi of hash brown in a bun so I halved the sausage between two rolls and had my hash brown separately. The bacon and sausage could have been tastier but we enjoyed them all the same. The scones were served with plastic pots of Danish butter. I think it would be better to have Scottish butter in little china pots. In the end we couldn't finish everything and left a couple of danish pastries. We were also give a little pouch of tea to take home which was a lovely touch. Overall we had a great time and the voucher made it a great deal but if we paid the full price I would expect higher quality components. As we arrived at 11:30am we saw people being served both breakfasts and lunches and all looked incredible so we will definitely be back to try some other treats while out shopping in the city centre.
A delicious morning tea, enjoyed by all.
Another excellent Morning Tea served by polite and friendly staff.
We keep coming back and will be back again soon
We had a lovely afternoon tea this week in the CUP Lounge a nice way to spend a leisurely catch up!
I always go to The Cup when celebrating I've spent my 50th birthday and every birthday since. I've had my hen do and taken various friends and clients there. I even went a couple times on my own when needing cheered up. I've never been let down yet by food or service one of the best places to go in Glasgow and now its turned into Gin 71 in evening even more reasons to go.
Fabulous food, friendly, helpful staff, lovely surroundings
Was a little disappointed with the afternoon tea, rolls were a bit stale, finger sandwiches would have been nicer. Scones were a bit over cooked, - had been really looking forward to the tea as reviews looked good! Stayed after for Gin71 which was lovely
a really nice place, with really lovely staff ,and terrific service ,and good food
Fantastic as always!
The food was lovely but the staff appeared rushed and flustered. We were squashed into a corner which didn't help with the atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves but I was a bit disappointed.
Went for afternoon tea with friends. Had a lovely time.
Took my mum for afternoon tea for her birthday. Lovely setting & staff were very attentive.
Delightful once more! Friendly helpful staff and delicious tea! Morning tea slightly different to my previous experience, bring back the smoked salmon mini-bagels!
There could be more imagination applied to the food menu, not everyone wants a bread solution these days. The chorizo salad I had was a little disappointing, simply cutting up pre-purchased chorizo slices.
Lovely food, lovely service and atmosphere. will definetly be back ! x
I have visited the Cup lounge several times and invited my daughter along as this was her visit she loved it and will certainly visit again, thank you
Lovely alternative to Afternoon tea was the Morning tea
Never fail to have a great time - thank you! :)
