Availability
My wife was disappointed your Festive Dining menu was not available on Tuesday, and having read the menu online when we booked, my wife and I had particularly looked forward to this festive menue. I returned the following day with different guest, as I was advised the Festive menu would be available, and it was. The two menu's gave an excellent choice and the food was indeed excellent on both days and at good value.
Not clear from Website that 1 December is Christmas therefore it was £9 per person more than budgeted for. We had no children in our party so Santa not required. When you have 5 people it is an extra £45. We also had to wait for 15 minutes for 2 cups of coffee.
Had a lovely evening, my only slightly negative would be that having requested my steak to be medium to well done it was a bit too rare for me more like a medium. Having said that it was very nice. So if you like your steak medium to well ask for well done.
Great service, friendly and attentive staff. Food was good and reasonably priced.
Not our first time dining here but possibly the best experience we have had, very attentive staff, one fella and girl(sorry we didn’t get their names)who were very friendly and competent, food was excellent and over all an excellent dining experience
We booked this Restaurant as we were staying in the culloden for a few nights with the kids to visit the polar express experience. Last year we did the the Slieve Donard so we thought this year we would try something different . The hotel was great everything you would expect for a 5 star hotel. I booked this restaurant 2 weeks in advance , I checked it out online the menu was basic but there was something for each of us so I thought grand job. Upon arrival we were shown to our seats atmosphere was warm and the Christmas songs were playing but that’s where it ended. Before we even got our coats off we were asked what we wanted to drink ....what about a wine list perhaps??? We were then given an Xmas menu you could choose from roast beef , turkey and ham or some dish made up of cheese, none of which any of us preferred, was shocked that there was no fish on the menu either. I asked the waitress would it be possible to order from another menu I was told no that’s it. Reluctantly we went ahead. I had the soup and my wife had the ceaser salad each of which were ok. When the lady was clearing away our starters I asked if it was possible to wait a while b4 we proceeded with our mains .. yeah no problem just let me know when your ready .. great .... Literally 2 secs later there was a young man bringing the mains out., I politely said I’m sorry but we are not ready so he took them away again but left the kids meals as they were hungry. My little girl had pasta and my son had pizza but it was burnt to a crisp (pics to follow) when we finally let the girl know we were ready for our mains they brought out 1 undercooked turkey and ham , it was pink and roast beef for my wife which was Luke warm, not only was this bad enough but we got 1 carrot 🥕 and one bit of broccoli, the gravy looked like it came out of a tap . I spoke to the manager on duty and he didn't seem to be to bothered he said he would let the chef know... I’m just wondering if The Hastings family came in would it be ok with them to have this substandard food sent out ... no it definitely would not só why should myself and my family have to put up with it and it wasn't exactly cheap. We had better food in the canteen in Lídl on our way home today. Never ever again.
Always a lovely atmosphere and great service thank you
We enjoyed a family meal before the polar express event. Our food was very good and good value. The staff were on hand and the service was brilliant.
We ordered three courses - after 45 minutes I had to ask for our soup - we had finished the soup for about 30 minutes before it was cleared away - the rest followed the same patterns - 2 hours 30 minutes to get served three courses - the restaurant was 1/2 full at a push - we could see similar frustrations at close by tables
We were attending the Polar Express event and decided to finish the evening with a meal .The restaurant was buzzing with Christmas cheer and we were able to give feedback to the owner about the Polar Express, the Wonderland and our overall experience . Everything was fantastic from start to finish . We very much enjoyed the first Turkey dinner of the Festive Season it was delicious !!!. Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable end to a perfect evening.
Very friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, food not the best. Drinks are nice
Service was okay. It was end of the night and staff were acting as if they didn’t want to be there. Also there was zero atmosphere as the restaurant was empty.
Sunday evening dinner. Restaurant was done up for Christmas, Cosy & inviting. Staff very pleasant & service was good. Had the potato & leek soup to start...it was basically warm water, no texture to it at all so that was disappointing. Main meal was very tasty so not a total disaster.
Draft beer selection is poor. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Great service!
Fantastic
Poravogie prawns excellent, duck confit off the bone average. Hake main very good, the lamb tagine, with the lamb in shank form, not as expected, but quite good. The Bailies cheesecake was reasonably good, but the Bailies content was not very evident. Service provided was friendly and efficient. Would visit again, but a more varied menu would be appreciated as would the playing of 'soft' low level background music to create ambience.
A very enjoyable evening to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
Lovely food. Very welcoming staff.
We overly enjoyed our meal on Saturday evening. Great selection of food and drink and the service was impeccable. Will definitely be returning. 😁
Really fantastic service and good food. Thai vegetable green curry was the only let down. A lot of onion and not a lot of anything else. So I felt that was overpriced and disappointing.
First time eating here but will definitely be back 👍🏻
Excellent Sunday carvery, but choices can be very limited if not at an early sitting.
Great evening at Cultra Inn the good was great as was the surroundings. Lovely evening.
Really great venue, tai green curry was amazing!
Wonderful meal and very attentive and pleasant staff. Highly recommended
