About Cub Restaurant
Cub is a partnership, collaboration, restaurant and precious project from lots of folk:
Mr Lyan (of White Lyan, Dandelyan, Super Lyan), Doug McMaster (of pioneering zero waste Silo, Brighton), Krug Champagne, Belvedere and LVMH, Dr Arielle Johnson (formerly Restaurant Noma, now MIT, Boston), and many others. We use considered ingredients and apply sustainable methods to create delicious stuff that does good too. We don't want to go on about that, but it's pretty damn interesting what we've tried to bring together, so please do ask us more about it when you visit!
Cub follows a simple premise of bringing people together through great food and drink. In our home on Hoxton Street in East London, we'll set you up with delicious stuff that makes your mind and belly happy. Our set menu is the best way to experience this; some courses are food, some drink and some... a mixture of the two. Or you can just do à la carte. Boozeless options available too.
You have built a very special restaurant.
Fabulous evening at Cub! The food and drinks were incredible and unusual, the staff were so lovely and friendly, and overall a brilliant concept. Will definitely be returning!
We had an amazing time! Food and drinks were incredible and you can tell that everyone who works there is really passionate about what they do
food and overall experience were amazing. I think it was overpriced for the offer - cost structure of having the meal with/without drinks did not really make sense. £67 with alcohol, £60 boozeless, and £55 for just food. Would recommend but would probably not go back for a while unless prices were lowered.
Amazing place, amazing people and amazing food!! One of the best restaurants I've been recently and last but not least totally eco-friendly. A must go
Fantastic experience... Would highly recommend !
We had a lovely evening at Cub, excellent food with matching drinks! We enjoyed the enthusiastic explanation of the menu end the great atmosphere in the restaurant.
Amazing food, delicious and innovative with really special inventive pairings. Service was also fantastic, each dish beautifully explained, service was caring and personal, always there but almost not noticeable. Definitely recommend if you want something special and that little bit different
We had a wonderful experience at Cub. The food was amazing, very interesting tastes with a real personality. The set menu with its combination of dishes and drinks is very interesting. Special mention for the artichoke broth, one of the best thing I ever tasted. Eating it was like having a walk in the woods in terms of sensations. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the staff super nice. It’s very interesting to see the chefs so calm behind the counter and yet putting out these incredible dishes. We’ll come back!
Amazing and unique experience
Really innovating and exciting vegetarian/vegan dining. An example of how we should move forward in being more sustainable. The team were very passionate about the restaurant's cause and vision.
It was fabulous BUT you need to clearly state it is a vegetarian restaurant. We were very disappointed to realise this on arrival
Hi Taniya! Thank you for your review. Just to let you know, we are not a vegetarian restaurant and that is why we do not describe ourselves like that. Our menu changes constantly and although we always maintain a plant based & sustainable concept, we do add seafood to our menu or we make an incredible bones Broth from time to time. Please feel free to get in touch with us before your next visit and we will be more than happy to let you know what incredible stuff our chef is working on. See you soon!
A fantastic, intimate dining space with attentive, friendly and charming staff. The food is creative and fantastic. Incredible. Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing, would go back again
Amazing concept and well executed!
Amazing and original food and drinks. Very impressed with the non-alcoholic pairing as well, the same amount of thought went into as the alcoholic pairing.
