About Crossroads Bar
Crossroads Bar is a re-introduction to the classic hotel bar, a place where traditional ideas and impeccable service unite with modern designs.
Lunch at the Crossroads Bar is an excellent way to sample delicious chef-prepared cuisine with a soft drink and takeaway tea or coffee at a budget-beating fixed price.
Had a great afternoon hightea. Tea and deserts are great. Less deserts and food choices compare with last year, but still good.
Not very welcoming staff, not very open or take initiative to help. Our add on never came out with the food and we had to ask again. Then we couldn’t even split the bill.
Very impressive service!
The food was very nice however the service was dreadful. We had to ask for a wine list and even pour our own wine. The bottle of wine was delivered and left with the lid in the ice bucket we expected a staff member to comeback and pour this did not happen. Very poor service The food wait staff were not much better. We did enjoy our Fondue compliments to the chef for the cheese.
I was so impressed with the quality of the food and the service thank you so much you had a wonderful time I will definitely be back again
Nice food and friendly staff. But to pay $160 for two people to attend a 5 minute "Masterclass" that consists of two Chefs explaining what the difference is between dark, white and chocolate milk is ridiculous, and then show you how to dip chocolate in more chocolate and roll it in toppings is hardly worth the money..
Cheese fondue meal was overpriced for what you got, and when we ordered the kipfler potatoes for $6 extra we were expecting them to be cooked and crispy but instead got a few raw limp slices of potato which were freezing cold and plain. The steak we added as an extra was nice, and the cheese itself was very tasty, but overall it was a disappointing meal. Service was pretty much non existent and our drinks took a while to arrive.
Fondue was really nice but the extras purchased - prawn cutlets, potato rosti and steak were not very nice. The prawns in particular were quite awful (and incorrectly described as they should just be noted on the menu as prawns, not prawn cutlets.
nice staff and venue- The set up is quite small - the choice of savoury was very limited, a cheeseboard would be a welcome addition
Fondue was amazing. It lived up to our expectations. It was great meal and it was very filling! The additional sides to dip were exemplary especially the meatballs. The service was great too, all the staff that attended to us were friendly snd professional.
Very disappointing. No service offered for tea - we had to chase around to find someone to ask to serve tea to our table. Buffet not replenished and cleared away before we even received our tea and coffee. Will definitely not recommend or return.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. A little pricey but the amount of food is amazing and delicious.
The selection was amazing everything I ate was delicious
A very long wait at the table for an underwhelming experience.
Great service and nice food it was little not enough amount but i really enjoyed
$35/person for the fondue special during Vivid Festival wasn't worth it. We got the same amount of bread and cheese sauce for three people that two other couples got. Had to pay extra to get more bread.
The cheese fondue was very tasty but the additional sides were not big enough for the price paid for them. Also, when I told the waitress that I'm an ACCOR member she offered me a glass of wine BUT upon checking that I'm not a premium member she removed the glass of wine from the table. It would have been better if she checked my status before telling me that I was entitled for a complementary glass of wine. Finally, towards the end of the evening, a different waitress showed up at our table telling us that they closed our bill early in error and asked us to paid it right away. We weren't even asked if we wanted a dessert or coffee. I was not very impressed by the service but the food was good!
I like the feel of this open lobby bar. The food was nice but I’m not sure worth $80. If you manage to get a cheaper deal on groupon, I’d recommend trying this buffet. The girl serving us was lovely, but I found it odd that one of the other staff came across to our table and suddenly asked us if we were paying full price or using vouchers, and whether we’d already paid up . It just seemed a bit random, especially since he’s the guy who processed my payment when I first entered. Anyway, apart from that it was a nice experience.
Great place to catch up after work , nice ambience friendly staff and delicious light food!
I received a phone call a few months after the booking for direct marketing of hotel deals. I was told Crossroads Bar provided my contact detail to them. I did not give my consent on this matter. No respond received after emailing the Crossroads bar twice. I’m not comfortable about how Crossroads Bar treat my contact detail (Privacy) or how they address the issue (no action at all). I will not recommend anyone to deal with an untrustworthy service provider.
I booked an brunch appointment on the hotel website. When we arrived we were told the booking wasn't 'right' and that we had made a mistake because the fondue event was only at night time. No apology, no suggestion of a coffee or even a conversation with the manager. All we got was 'you made a mistake. you must have because we didn't' - and i had the booking confirmation on my phone which i showed them. Rude staff, faulty website. DO NOT GO HERE
First time visiting the hotel/ restaurant and will not be returning. We went especially for the winter fondue special and the quality of food was really terrible and terrible value for money. We ordered the cheese fondue and a glass of wine. The food arrived before my glass of wine and I had to remind the waiter about the wine. The ‘extras’ we ordered with the fondue were overpriced and just ridiculous really. $10 for flat iron steak which was literally inedible was such bad quality meat I couldn’t swallow it and I did let the waiter know and he took it off the bill. The vegetables was 2 slices of carrots, 2 small pieces of broccoli, 4 slices of capsicum. The mushrooms was literally 2 mushrooms cut in half for $8. In all a terrible experience which was hugely overpriced.
Really nice venue and food.
We booked the highly recommended Cheese Fondue (based on what was advertised online). We faced a very confusing and odd service at the front bar. Staff wasn’t able to ask us whether our booking was in the bar or in the restaurant.. so we ended up following around two different staff members and my husband had to ask them ‘aren’t you supposed to ask for who the reservation is for?’ After the odd running around they figured out the fondue we booked is in the restaurant next to bar. Great - we found our seats. We ordered mulled wine and wine - took ages to get the drinks! The restaurant was not full - half of it was closed.. We ordered the food which came after drinks. It was such a disappointment.. With $34 per head for three people you expect more than three slices of salad with few croutons, bowl of of bread and gherkins with 5 pickled onions! We ordered beer battered chips after we saw what the food was and again had to ask the chips again cause it didn’t arrive. Cheese fondue was good, and there was enough of that for three. We are deeply disappointed. :( We read your advertisement and were silly enough to think it’s worth having family meal there at Friday night. I have to say spending approx $135 on this was waste of money. Sorry!
