About Croes Howell Restaurant Bar and Grill
We are surrounded by some of the county’s finest producers, which is why our menu is based on fresh, locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. The Croes Howell is set on the border of the Cheshire Countryside, offering beautiful views during the day and a relaxing atmosphere at night, and is within easy reach of Chester and Wrexham.
Sunday lunch this week was really poor Beef and roasters life leather Veg was good and yorkie Really disappointed But will come again. But not happy
The most beautiful setting, a beautiful Sunday Dinner with super friendly service! Looking forward to the next visit:@)
My friend and I had a delightful meal and shall certainly go again.
I feel the Croes Howell is definitely on the decline from its opening , its starting to look tired and very much lacking in atmosphere. The food is very much hit & miss sometimes fabulous but more recently not without hiccups. There are some members of the team which are fantastic and very welcoming unfortunately there are a couple less welcoming as we witnessed recently . I feel now coming into the summer they should definitely make more of the fabulous views & gardens making families welcome like that if its neighbors in Rossett !
We have been before and will be back again.
Lovely food, great service, amazing views and reasonable prices! Will definitely come here again :-)
Absolutiy fab !!! My bridesmaid and i loved every part of it, the food was amazing and so fresh. We will be back for more 😍😍😍 and the cocktails were amazing and the size of them 😍😍 will be back to sample more too
Visited last night with a friend and ate off the Sunday menu, we both had the Sunday roast and it was absolutely gorgeous. From the vegetables cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour to the meat which was tender, melted in the mouth but still oozed flavour. Dessert was lovely but overshadowed by the fabulous main course. We will most definitely be back.
We were met at the door by our waiter who showed us to our table. Drinks orders were quickly taken & they arrived promptly. We all enjoyed our main meals all 5 of us clearing our plates food was delicious. We ordered dessert my husband & I both opted for the chocolate coffee tart with chantilly cream the tart was very rich and we both feel it needed a good dollop of the chantilly cream rather than the 3 tiny little chocolate button sized blobs that were served, otherwise everything was spot on😊
Absolutely beautiful food. As for the greeting we got it was very unpleasant we booked online and the gentleman made us feel slightly unwelcome because he did not check his online reservations.
Lovely friendly staff, great atmosphere, would defiantly recommend for afternoon tea and a meal.
Excellent service, excellent food. We are already planning a return with family
We had the two course lunch which was excellent. Service was good and friendly. Couldn’t fault the whole experience.
Lovely staff, very polite & made sure we were looking after the whole time we were their.
Fully enjoyed the experience with all the family, beautiful food and custom.
This is my third visit to the Croes Howell and each time I say I’ll never ever go back. To be fair the food had always been good but service rubbish. Yesterday’s food was alright and poor service yet again. Most people I speak to either love it or don’t like it, I always ask why they don’t like it and it’s the sane answer... the service, this needs addressing ASAP. I had to ask where our main meal was after waiting 1 hour 20 mins, the wrong order came. We were offered a free round of drinks and deserts free
Disappointed after looking forward to a new place to eat. We arrived at 12.20 & were seated in corner by wall and felt penned in. We asked to be moved but were unable to. We just had to pull out the table. Myself, my brother and father all over 6ft so it was a tight squeeze. Most places raise the price of Mothers Day lunch so Croes Howell no different but quality of desserts didn't give value for money. Certainly wasn't cheap. Eton mess & crumble are simple & cheap desserts compared to desserts that are on usual Sunday. menu. However the Eton mess had next to no meringue or fruit and the crumble had literally no crumble. We should've said something as dessert plates were taken away but didn't like to make a fuss at the time, plus had the wait a little while between courses and for the bill. On a positive the mains were fine and came promptly.
Lovely restaurant, great food, very high standard. Service good on a very busy day!
Lovely meal for Mother’s day. All staff were helpful and friendly. Manager couldn’t do enough for us.
Second visit in a week..Can recommend the Pan fried chicken
Couldn’t give any results for atmosphere as we were the only ones dining
This was only my 2nd visit...on both occasions I have taken my 80yr old mother who is blind. The staff are always so helpful and understanding and nothing is too much trouble.. like when I asked for a doggy bag because mum hadn't eaten any food not only was this not a problem but as they didn't have anything to put the food in the sent me home with the plate... which I shall return on my next visit... thank you 👍
