Situated down near the harbour the views that welcome you are spectacular looking straight out the veranda over the Firth of Forth and on a clear day you feel you could almost touch the Bass rock opposite. The restaurant is light and airy with a modern feel and our bar allows you to have a relaxing drink before your meal if you desire.
Our location in the East Neuk inspires some of our best dishes with seafood being a popular choice we ensure that only the best fresh produce will be utilised. Lunch time we have a lunch menu, evening time a set dinner menu along with a seven course tasting menu giving you plenty to select from. See our sample menus below.

Very comfortable and worth just coming for the view of the harbour and the Forth, as well as such an enjoyable meal.
The sommelier was brilliant and not only paired wines perfectly with each of our courses on the lunch tasting menu, but some knowledgeably and relatably about them. He was also with us when we spotted dolphins out in the bay very close to where we were sitting (our table had a perfect view), and understood our excitement upon catching sight of them. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. We wouldn't change a thing and hope to go back!
First class cooking, first class service and an amzing view over the sea and harbour
Staff should not join in customer conversations in the lounge unless asked to do so, this is the 3rd time this has happened but the first I've been asked for feedback
We were one of only two couples for lunch on a wild day in November but the waves crashing over the harbour wall provided any missing atmosphere! Food was exquisite as before and service lovely. Looking forward to the next time, Thank you, Morag
Fantastic as always. Well worth the trip. We'll be back - definitely.
Everything was excellent. Prof James Scott
Every mouthful packed with subtle intense flavour. Presentation an art-form in itself. Service and attention to detail excellent and relaxing.
Thank you for making Ferns 21st so special- wonderful
Excellent meal as always. Really enjoyed everything about it. Staff were also very concerned we had been disturbed by the loud wine tasting folk - you had let us know in advance about the event so it was no problem and we appreciated being able to have our coffee in the cosy bar area plus the complimentary drinks.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, great food.
The food flavours are wonderfully subtle, well balanced, with faultless presentation. Service was equally top notch. It has been 8 years since my previous visit, & it is my loss that I have taken so long to return.
Setting,Food, service and general ambience without fault and on a par with anywhere we have eaten worldwide.
Delicious food and excellent pairing wines.
Another excellent meal with well paired wines interestingly explained - my only slight qualification as with a number of other 'tasting' menus is the use of an inferior piece of beef viz. the cheek albeit very well cooked and presented but as the star of the show why not a small fillet 3/4 oz would do. that apart as i said - excellent with service to match
A very interesting and enjoyable lunch experience. Service was efficient and solicitous, but not overbearing. Our party of four all chose fish as a main course and were not disappointed. Starters and desserts were ample and well presented. The coffees and teas were good and the petit fours first class. The atmosphere was heightened by the strong wind and crashing waves externally. A must for lunch!! Sandy.
We had a delicious lunch and great service. Particular compliments to the barman/ wine waiter for his attentive service.
brilliant setting, great food, glad we made the choice to come for my wife's birthday lunch
Every course was fantastic. Excellent service in a beautiful setting.
Delicious food and great service. Staff are always so friendly.
What a delight. We were blessed with a clear blue sky to enhance the wonderful view and the food was just wonderful and so beautifully presented. It was truly a feast for both eyes and taste buds. I have been singing your praises to my friends which I rarely do as I have had 'egg on my face' in the past from recommending places to eat. You go from strength to strength and have such lovely waiting staff. Thank you for a perfect lunch yesterday. I will be back soon !!!!!
We were made to feel very welcome, and restaurant manager Jamie Keith was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, yet again making our latest visit both enjoyable and memorable. Food was excellent as always, as was the service. The autumn lunch deal made this exceptional value for money, but even without that as a bonus this would still have been worth every penny. Already looking forward to our next visit from along the coast in Kinghorn.
Beautiful meal with a beautiful view on a lovely sunny lunchtime. Enjoyed looking out over the sea while eating an excellent lunch.
We had a fantastic meal - a really delicious and creative menu. We also enjoyed excellent and very friendly service from all the staff, but particularly the sommelier who was extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend - and look forward to visiting again next time we're in Fife.
Fantastic lunch. The cheese soufflé and chocolate foundant a highlight. Lovely views of the sea and St Monans. Service second to none
