Been a few times and never fails to deliver quality great food.
We had headed out for a wee day out on our motor bike and had booked for lunch from the moment we arrived tonwheb we left the service food and atmosphere was amazing! The food just blew our minds and the amazing textures and tastes was amazing!! Fabulous restaurant tucked away in an amazing village!!! Thanks for giving us a foster child and child free day to remember for a long time!!! X
Great meal and service was excellent
Once more we had a spectacular meal. The food was brilliant backed up by great service. One of the things that make this restaurant special is that you know the staff want you to enjoy the whole experience. Their enthusiasm adds to the mind blowing food. It's not cheap but is genuine value for money. Hopefully see you soon
The lace is lovely but I think the best part is the lovely chatty professional staff who are very welcoming.
A most enjoyable special occasion evening - great venue, excellent meal, comfortable ambience. Perhaps a little more attention to detail required on first arrival - the bar area is authentic but a little austere, and there was a moment when one thought: 'we are in the system, aren't we?' Well of course we were, but confidence took a wee while to emerge! A minor criticism - more an opportunity to improve.
One of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had. Loved the view and ambience of restaurant. Bar a bit dull and dark - ceiling reminiscent of tobacco! Service efficient and v good. Enjoyed the choice of wine flight
This was our fourth visit. The service was more attentive and the menu was improved. Would recommend the wine pairing which is sensible, not gaudy and experimental
Once again a lovely meal with plenty of choice for each course - the cheese soufflé is really enjoyable. We were a group of 4 and the surroundings allowed us to enjoy our conversation without any difficulty from extraneous noise. We will be returning when time permits.
4 courses was too much. The cheese souflee was too much but the rest of the fish dishes were superb. The vanilla panna cotta was really good with all the fruits. Trout sashimi was buttery and excellent
Excellent food and service - can always be cheaper! good to see some of the same staff since February - the main front of house is very knowledgeable and the tall young man is coming on - both girls were welcoming, smiling and helpful - we will be back.
Fantastic lunch with beautiful views. A real gem of a place.
Stunning location, fabulous food and wonderfully warm and welcoming staff. What more could you ask for?
Great food and great service as always
Excellent meal with wine pairing!! Unexpected quality in a fine location. Much enjoyed evening! Recommended
Lovely visit, great food too. Just a couple of things would have helped make it better; it was too warm in the restaurant. I know this weather is unusual for us but since it’s been prolonged a couple of fans would really have helped. Also, we needed more water- having to seek out the staff who should have been more attentive re this was a negative. I’d still recommend you though, lovely setting and food on the whole.
First class service and delicious food, beautifully presented.
The food in a restaurant is important - pretty obvious! The food was superb and ticked all the boxes. It was enhanced by the personal service of the staff - the bar, font of house management and the waiting staff. We look for an overall good experience when dining out and Craig Millar @ 16 West End delivered. Thank you.
Quality , taste and presentation of food was was flawless. Staff are all really nice people but the service and a few other wee things were well off. If front of house could come close to the great cooking that goes on behind the scenes then we would 100% go back. A few suggestions - fix loo seat in men's toilet, get rid of the Tesco type B&H hand soaps and repalce with Arran Arommatics or Molton and Brown, in women's loo don't have a bint up high on shelf but on floor, when serving amuse-bouche tell the diners what it is (had to ask), don't try take away a half finsihed GnT, if asked do you have X beer don't just say 'NO'..say 'no, but can I recommend....', just because you served the wrong dish to diners through the back don't run and dump the 2 glasses you are carrying in middle of our table(!!)...and, when we are on pddings we don't need to hear instructions belted out in front of us 'clear away tables X, Y , Z...so, they started removing the table cloths all around us at 10.30pm when we still eating. At least the chairs didn't go onto the tables. The whole front of house team needs polishing up as it was comical to listen to, watch and be involved in - all for £150 for 2 including tip. This place could be 5*s but the nice staff need a pro in to train them and some extra wee touches would not go amiss to match the fine dining.
We have been coming to the restaurant for around twenty years and while it became a slightly less pleasant experiece a few years ago, it is now back to its best. It compares very favourably with other local offerings in all regards
Great experience, lovely location, beautiful food!
Enjoyed the evening but there was a long delay between main course and desert as two tables of new people were dealt with.
Really enjoyed our lunch, just the right amount of food and beautifully presented.
Great food. Great service.
