About Crabshakk @ Cathedral House
Come join Crabshakk @ Cathedral house. A Beautiful and iconic Glasgow landmark built in Scottish Baronial style in 1896. Crabshakk will be doing a weekend winter takeover of the venue. Delicious Scottish seafood served in an historic and unique dining room. That ought to beat those winter blues.
Food was outstanding and so fresh, excellent value for money. Staff were so lovely and accommodating, can’t wait to go back!
I’m a huge fan of the Crabshakk in Finnieston but I felt a little short changed with my experience at the new iteration in the East End. I don’t want to be too critical due to Covid and understand the difficulties faced by restaurants currently. The restaurant itself is very nice and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier but I just feel that the menu seemed limited when compared with the Finnieston restaurant and I don’t I feel that it was worth the £90 that I shelled out. We had 3 small plates that were shared between two and this didn’t include any alcohol as we were sat inside. It was £18 for 3 small langousines and £18 for 5 small scallops which I didn’t feel was good value for money - I left feeling hungry. The chocolate macaron that we had for desert was excellent though. As much as I love the Crabshakk in Finnieston, I won’t be returning to the East End. It was just too expensive for what appeared to be a fairly limited menu and very small portions.
We had a tremendous afternoon. We are both BIG Crabshakk fans but our first time at Cathedral House Hotel. Terrific find. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food, fab wine list and a lovely beer garden with views of the Necropolis. Definitely a new favourite destination
What an incredible hidden gem! Staff, food and drinks were amazing. Can’t wait to come back.
Laura and her team were outstanding. Excellent service and food.
Laura and her team were superb
Food,service,everything great. Will be back.
First time dining out after lockdown restrictions eased. Not disappointed
Wonderful dining experience! Superb food, good attentive service. Great table on the mezzanine level, with a view of the chef's alchemy. Shall return before you leave Cathedral House
Food and service amazing. This was the first time we have been to crabshakk at cathedral house. Enjoyed new location, despite ongoing restrictions and no alcohol indoors atmosphere was still lovely. Great, friendly service as always. Fantastic. Will be back!
Delicious food... lovely birthday afternoon out 🙂
I was really looking forward to the food, but unfortunately it didn't blow me away. The scallops were really well cooked but a tiny portion (I ordered a big portion). I was disappointed with a crab roll, as the roll was too big for how much crab meat there was. The restaurant itself was pretty cold, not sure of it was because of covid.
Lovely venue great food and very friendly staff. Only one problem it was quite cold inside due to doors opening constantly for outside service. Most people inside had their jackets on.
Amazing food, great service.
Amazing seafood and lovely staff with great service. Love this resturant and will forever be the place to go to for a big treat.
Ordered oysters to start, 5 different mains as we couldn’t choose, 2 sides and fries. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was spot on. Fantastic selection of seafood.
Brilliant service, delicious food, lovely wine.
Hiya, Just a couple of things to note - service was pretty slow - staff seemed rushed off their feet but not overly busy. Asked for a table outside but told there were none available - but there were at least 5 empty tables. The squid special which was on tasted of nothing but smoke (the squid was charred but that’s all it tasted of). Had crab & given no utensils to get into said crab. Not overly impressed. Put it this way, my boots were still on at the end of the night.
10/10 experience. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating & the food was great. Beer garden they have is beautiful
Amazing! Can’t wait to book again.
Very disappointed in size of veg and bread portions. Lack of variety in side dishes
