Service was incredibly swift!
Arranged a Staff get together for 30 people. Food was amazing and was the staff! Brilliant evening had by all.
I just wanted to say a big thank you for your service. The bar staff were brilliant with such a big drinks order of 27 they worked together well getting all the drinks correct and to us very promptly twice, a big thank you to them! We were all very impressed with the food service how quickly these came out and taking the order list so that you could give each person their order without any fuss, the food was lovely and so was the atmosphere so thank you for making our lunch enjoyable!
Food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilets could be cleaner (which was something my while party commented on) Overall, a lovely lunch sat outside by the river.
Brilliant service. Staff very friendly and efficient.
great place, great service, super location and nice food
We had a work Summer Party at Cox's Yard for 15 people. The food was excellent, everyone commented on the fact it was tasty, hot and plentiful. Staff were friendly and the male server we had was on hand to top up glasses. The only issue we had were the toilets. The ladies was smelly, untidy and lacking in toilet roll. The gents wasn't much better either. Apart from that, we would highly recommend Cox's Yard.
15 of us met for lunch to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday. The food was delicious, and from the moment we arrived, we couldn't have been made more welcome. I would strongly recommend Cox's Yard to anyone looking for somewhere with good food and a warm welcome in Stratford.
Great atmosphere, always really busy, live music is great, staff are really friendly too! This was my first visit and I had booked for 10 people. We got a room to ourselves, which was great! There were some good drinks choices on the menu and all reasonably priced. The food was good and there were happy tummies at the end, but I did have a few issues around this. The food was already being delivered to the table before the last person had even ordered. I like fast service but this suggested to me that nothing was cooked from fresh. I ordered the Thai Edamame Burger and what I received was a lentil burger with a gluten-free bun. When I inquired, I was told that my order was correct and that is what the Thai Edamame Burger was like. No thai, no edmame and no sourdough bun stated on the menu. It tasted good, but it wasn't what I asked for. On the whole, this is a great place for drinks, and a quick bit to eat. We enjoyed our visit.
I got there minutes earlier than my friends, so I popped to the toilet... Unfortunately due to the state of them I rang my friends and said we're definitely not eating here! If the standards of your facilities are like they are then the rest of the place will be equal Very disappointed :-(
Thank you for looking after us so well, the great family meet up was made very much easier due to your help with booking a big enough space and great service.
I was a little disappointed with Cox’s Yard, it looked a lot nicer on the website than when visiting in person. Generally I thought it seemed a bit grubby, & would benefit from a clean and a lick of paint. Food was nice and staff were great though l.
Excellent live band!
It was a bonus because of the live music that was on...a great night to spend a friend's 65th birthday.
Didnt know we booked. Spoke very rude when we arrived. Luckily enough there was a spare table when we arrived.
Lovely staff, amazing food, beautiful setting.
The room we were allocated was too small for the numbers we had (22) and we had been allocated 6 tables of 4 which for a work meal was not fit for purpose. The drink orders took far too long to come , if they came at all and i'm pretty sure we were charged for ones that never came. We were missing a starter so i got mine once most had finished. We then didn't get a burger until again nearly everyone had finished. The lights went off several times and this wasn't mentioned/ apologised for at all? no one came to check if things were going ok or to ask if we needed anything. The food itself was ok with large portions and the majority coming out in a timely manner( apart from the missing ones in the first two courses) The drink service was shocking- one of the worst i have experienced.
Booked a reservation 2 weeks before visiting.. to then be told on the day they wasn’t doing food inside (where we had booked) as they was short staffed. It wasn’t until I raised what they was going to do to help us did they try and offer us something else. They was serving food outside (where we’d asked to sit half an hour before our booking time) to then be told we couldn’t reserve a table ?! After dealing with the fourth memeber of staff we was shoved in some “snug” which wasn’t clean and absolutely no atomosphere!!!! To then be told we had to go outside to order our dinner. No sorry from any staff, just made to feel like we was being a pain !!!
Greeted by the manager , we asked if we could sit outside he said no we would have to wait in the queue if we wanted to sit outside . We weren’t actually that bothered about waiting although we had booked but his nature was aggressive and unwelcoming, we had never been there before so this instantly left us feeling uneasy and not happy to be there . Because the weather was beautiful we decided to wait. The food was good but the service was very slow. Such a shame the manager wasn’t more accommodating he is literally the difference between a good review and a bad one. Although the location was idilic we won’t be revisiting.
Thank you for the friendly service.
We held my Husbands surprise 50th at Cox's yard with 100 people in attendance and it was the most fantastic evening, every aspect! Food, drink, service, band, and Stuart coordinating from booking to the evening, all fantastic! Thank you
Made a booking but they didn't check too see if we had. Sat on very high booths with a small baby that needed a high chair but the table was so high the high chair was too low for my child to comfortably eat at. The staff were friendly enough Food was ok, kids serviings were way too big. The pie I had was very average and tasted too sweet got sick of it after about half way through. The onion rings were massive but just greasy, didn't eat any of them, tried one but wasn't great. Overall very average and I probably wouldn't dine there again or recommend to anyone.
A fantastic relaxed venue for our wedding celebration party. Our guests thought the food was brilliant with plenty of it. We and our guests enjoyed every minute.
Unfortunately it was freezing, I can only assume your heating had broken and so we couldn’t warm up. I loved the fairy light but being cold was awful. I enjoyed my starter which was a scotch egg but the burgers were disappointing, the bread wasn’t nice and the burger was cold. So not that happy with it. We were ordering drinks as people arrived and it took ages for them to get to the table, not sure why as there seemed to be plenty of staff waiting around.
