About Cosy Club Taunton
Quirky, eccentric and playful the Cosy Club offers informal casual dining, drinking and lounging in a homely and family friendly environment.
‘Think gents club, meets village hall, meets cricket pavilion.’
A bit of knife and fork...
The Cosy Club's menu majors on comfort food classics as well as offering an extensive brunch menu, a decent variety of sandwiches, and a great selection of tapas.
Pass the Port...
Whatever your tipple, the Cosy Club aims to please. You can expect great coffee (and cake), an imaginative soft drinks selection, a good selection of draught beer/cider/ale, a compact list of decent plonk, a nicely proportioned list of classic cocktails and a cracking back bar.
The Cosy style...
The interior of a Cosy Club is cosy (strangely enough), impressive and a bit mad! Eras and styles clash in an eccentric, eclectic fantasia. The furniture is a mixture of tables & dining chairs, battered old club chairs, and sleek 1930's sofas. On the walls you'll see oil paintings, banners, flags, a splash of taxidermy and all sorts of unusual pictures and prints. Lighting is soft and sumptuous.
We love working with the features of the each of the buildings the Cosy Club's inhabit - there may be some exposed brick, some wooden panelling, and some bare concrete all complemented by contemporary glass and chrome (not to mention dark, heavy drapes and net curtains).
The Cosy Club opens everyday from 9am until 11pm (12.30am Thurs - Sat) and serves food all day from 9am until 10pm.
The Cosy Club is operated by Loungers Limited who also own 'the Lounge' neighbourhood café/bars - see www.thelounges.co.uk

Booked for a work team lunch. Range and quality of food was great. Service was also good. Lovely atmosphere. Have recommended to others already.
Only reason for fours was that one of my party found a hair in desert, but was quickly rectified, also atmosphere was nice, but room was very warm...but wasn't an overly warm evening. Could do with some air con or fans
My only gripe is that every time I have been here the service starts out fantastically - but when it comes to clearing away mains and offering desserts I've been let down by this on 3 occasions with different groups - little slow and more of missed opportunity for Cosy Club than for me being a chubster and getting dessert. Still beaut place to eat, food is lush and I love it.
Wow!! First visit and super impressed!! The food was fantastic the staff were excellent and we had a great time. Will definitely come back with new visitors!! Thanks!!
Whilst funny and charming at times, the waiter seemed to try just a little bit too hard with the banter whilst taking our order. We're a group of 3 women whose ages range from 44 to 70 and I lost count how many times we were either addressed "young lady" or "my darling". He had a few one liners, which were amusing at first, but I think he forgot he'd already used them because they reappeared later during our meal and so made him lose his authentic and attentive persona. Meals were all beautiful, thank you. Wine, Pinot Grigio, was sent back as tasted off/chemical. Was replaced with a taster glass of Sauvignon blanc, (excellent idea), and when approved, a full glass was delivered and my friend was told she could have the rest of the taster glass (perhaps a tbsp full) on the house. That was patronising and unnecessary. After main courses were delivered and a visit made to check everything was OK, we were left for over 40minutes with empty plates, and worse, empty glasses. The staff were over the other side of the room or busy at the bar so we had to leave the table to bring the lack of service to their attention. They were apologetic, cleared the table and brought the coffees we subsequently ordered. I think a gesture of the coffees on the house would have been the least we should have been offered at this point. Mid coffee and a waitress approached the table with a saucer and the bill. We hadn't asked for the bill so took this as a very rude signal that they were ready for us to leave, as if ignoring us for 40 minutes hadn't been enough. When I looked at the bill, it wasn't ours, so again had to leave the table for lack of staff to alert about the problem. All in all we had a beautiful meal in lovely surroundings but, sadly, the service was pretty poor on balance, hence only 3 stars and a reduced cash tip on the night. I hope the chef had a share of the tip as they earned the money that night, certainly not the front of house staff.
A "stag" evening after a day at the cricket. Hit the button - tapas, burgers and a couple of beers - just what was needed. Excellent service.
Excellent service, will definetly return with my team for our next well done night out
Service charge for 8 people - one who wasn't eating and bought her own drinks from the bar......a little disappointing.
The staff were great - really helpful and attentive - couldn't fault them. The style and interior design of the place is fantastic - it makes for a really different and inspiring venue for a meeting (we were in the Den), and the details, fixtures and fittings all work really well together and add to the ambience (eg we loved the wallpaper in the ladies). Everyone loved the food, but the only complaint (which meant that I've had to give 4 stars rather than 5 for the food) was that we'd like to have had some biscuits or flapjacks or something like that to go with coffee in the morning. We were offered nuts and olives, but they don't go with a delicious flat white! The biggest shame was that we were there to work, so we couldn't take advantage of the cocktails...we'll be back.
An excellent 1st time experience, as a vegan I had no problem in finding something acceptable to eat, and the meat eaters were more than happy, thank you!
Excellent as always, never fails. We've even got into the habit of bringing friends & relations so they can see the picture of ancestors various on the wall. Thank you for letting us climb on the table for this purpose !
I had a private party in the Den and it was perfect- the barman was excellent, dealing with multiple cocktail orders and very friendly throughout the evening. The food (tapas) was absolutely delicious and there was more than enough, and although we couldn't hear the music as we were being far too loud, it was good!!
Excellent food. Service was great, much better than previously.
Very pleasant atmosphere and lovely food, had a great time enjoying my meal with company for a very reasonable price. Definitely would recommend and go back for a second visit!
Prompt and attentive service. Good value for money.
A huge thank you to all at Taunton Cosy Club for making the Surprise 30th Birthday bash a huge success. I couldn't have wished for a better atmosphere and wouldn't have received a service like it anywhere else. You made it a night to remember!
Lovely food and fab service, staff are really friendly / helpful - cocktails etc are delicious - Probably the nicest watering hole in Taunton :-)
I went for lunch with my dad and we had such a nice meal in Taunton cosy club. The waiters were excellent, my dad got tips on the best local beers and some not so local, the waiter even wrote down the names of the beers for future reference. The service was speedy without being too rushed, the food was awesome. The rest of the staff were just as friendly and super polite, they even threw in a bit of humour which was great! We will definitely be coming back soon!! X
Had a fabulous evening. Hired out The Den for my 18th and had a wonderful time. Bar staff were incredibly nice and friendly, would definitely do it again.
Food was very good; there was a long wait to be served, and then for food to arrive (almost an hour after we sat down) but it was busy; the staff were friendly and knowledgable. The restaurant is VERY noisy when busy - almost impossible to chat. You expect that in the evening, but it's not so good during the day - it was Father's Day, and it was impossible to have a normal conversation. I guess the acoustics aren't great, or the tables are just too close together. The service was very good - special mention for the staff member at the end who served me when I paid - she disappeared off after my payment had been processed, and then returned to say she was really sorry, she'd forgotten to give my dad his free drink as it was Father's Day, and so she gave me the cash back. Brilliant service as I hadn't even realised he should have had a free pint!
Lovely visit in a relaxing atmosphere
Couldn't fault my breakfast with you at the Cosy club! Service was excellent and I was even allowed to create my own meal which wasn't on the menu. I come regularly to the cosy club & have never had a problem with any of the above options.
Great place to eat. Need to choose wisely if you are hungry but the food is tasty
Food was excellent-faultless Service was attentive but not overbearing As the place was busy, the background music was too loud& not needed, even on a table for 6 it was hard to hear friends at the end of the table talking
Lovely meal, great relaxed atmosphere, fan service.
