Really lovely food, the Scottish dirty fries were VERY moreish! Nice friendly service, helpful but not 'in your face'.
Excellent service and food. Considering 1st day opening after reduced restrictions everything was very well organised.
Food and drink was amazing, just one small thing I would say is that it seemed to take a long time to clear our table after our dessert, even though it wasn't busy. But overall great night, would go back!
Please update your music that is played in the restaurant.
Great service and lovely drinks. Definitely be back soon.
My husband and i booked a table on Saturday 3.30. We found service was very slow waited a while for our order to be taken then for the food to come and then inbetween also. We asked for a other set of drinks when we finished with the main and never recieved them and we were charged. Waited ages on our desert order being taken then reordered the drinks we didnt get last time. I would understand the restaurant was busy but there were less than a handfull of people in. Wont be back.
Forgot how good the food was not been in a while. The sauce/gravy with the steak pie was amazing would have been happy with chips and gravy, haggis and cauliflower started were good also. Fish was fresh and tasty.
Most staff were very friendly but the waitress that took our payments at the end was visibly fuming that we paid separately and was quite rude about it - this included moaning about it to the waitresses around. The food was okay but over priced. I got the lamb and it was nice but quite fatty. A few of our drinks were forgotten about but I think they were quite busy. Really beautifully decorated inside and nice atmosphere. I would maybe think about going back when it was quieter.
Excellent will definitely be back
It took over 35 minutes for our two drinks to arrive. Cocktails might as well have been juice with no alcohol in them. Main of lamb flank was lovely but let down by dessert, chocolate fudge cake was dry and tasteless.
Food was great staff where very good aswell definitely be back
Great place to spend time in. Good food in a nice setting.
Had a lovely meal at a reasonable price, Service was good, staff were pleasant and professional, would recommend Cooper Restaurant.
Had a lovely meal for mums 80th birthday... Staff were lovely, attentive but not intrusive and the food was even enjoyed by my dad and that's no mean feat. 😊.
We had previously eaten at Coopers at the end of November last year with a group of friends and as a result we fancied coming back for lunch. It was our nieces birthday so what better excuse for lunch out! I did book a table, just in case, but it wasn’t necessary. The restaurant was as I remember, in fact I probably noticed a lot more this time and it has a really nice ambience with different areas for different groups, individuals etc. The service was superb, the lady who recently took over the management was professional yet warm and friendly and efficient. The three of us each had a different main meal and there were no complaints, fish & chips, sausage & mash and a burger (can’t remember it’s name!) Each dish was so well presented that you couldn’t wait to get started. My partner and I had dessert, sticky toffee pudding and it was to die for! A relaxing lunch, good food, great service and surroundings. First Class!
Had booked for burns supper menu, when arrived for booking informed menu unavailable as had proved to be popular..,...was disappointed as had booking for over 2 weeks and was looking forward to meal. Ordered advertised drink which was also sold out 😐😐 stayed for alternate meal which was pleasant, couldn't fault the service, but really if you are advertising a burns menu for Burns weekend IN SCOTLAND, make sure you have enough.
When we arrived, we were seated quickly and with a friendly waiter. We then waited 15 minutes to be offered a drink. The menu was very confusing, it looked like someone had just printed it off from a spreadsheet, didn't make much sense and looked very unprofessional. Haggis and black pudding bon bons were over cooked, and coating was rock hard. 4 out of 6 of us had burgers, they were dried out, and the burger buns tasted stale, none of us finished our meal. Risotto was very clumpy and tasteless. Over all, we won't be rushing back.
Lovely venue staff and food
Nice food & good service
Had a fantastic evening, food and service were great. Staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back.
Great food, friendly staff what more can you ask for.
Certainly scope for improvement with respect to service. While/after our main course plates were cleared away the staff member didn't ask if we'd like anything else. If she had, we'd possibly have had a dessert, certainly a coffee. Because she didn't reappear and we were tight for time, we left - a bit unimpressed. We enjoyed the food - though choice a bit limited for vegetarians - but there's clearly some way to go before lunchtimes are as busy as they were a year ago.
Food is delicious. Staff are attentive. Very good value for very good quality food and drink
