Steak was excellent, so was the fish. Would be great to back the risotto that you used to have a couple of years back best risotto I have ever tasted.
Booked a wow her deal. Staff are always friendly.
Excellent restaurant with lovely views.
Good food in a lovely setting.
Went as part of wowcher deal , this is only reason that i rated value a 3 . Definitely wouldn’t be worth full price, place was very quiet but service was slow and they waitress got our drinks wrong and we also ordered a side that never came and we were charged for. Fries tasted funny , as if the oil they were cooked in was off. As mentioned this was a wowcher deal and we never paid a lot for it but this shouldn’t mean that standards slip.
Great food and excellent service. View overlooking the loch was perfect.
My husband and I really enjoyed our festive lunch. Everything about is was just perfect. We’ll be back!
Lovely meal and the service was excellent .
Excellent food and service , staff are fab, will be back.
Excellent service staff were very welcoming and friendly ,food was excellent and well presented.
We had a tasty breakfast with an excellent service.
Absolutely delicious first class food, and staff friendly and welcoming just loved everything can't wait to come back and a very big Thank you
Lunch with a view. What a wonderful place to have lunch....great views, wonderful service and the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. Hoping to go back 😀
Oxtail and barley broth, 2 of us had, both agreed very bland, lacking in seasoning and the sense of meat stock was missing, whilst the veg was over crunchy and under cooked. 1 had ham hock terrine, the jelly was flavourless Chicken main was underwhelming x 2, whilst the crème brûlée was runny and insipid. Most disappointing for my husband's birthday meal. Service was good.
Visited colquhouns for dinner and breakfast as part of a dinner bed and breakfast package with lodge on the loch . All staff were very friendly and professional at all times and a credit to the restaurant however a few small things added up to make dinning here very underwhelming. Starter: cheddar and ham croquets were nice but unfortunately not very warm. Main: steak, both of us ordered steak at a £24 supplement which supposedly comes from a nice butcher's in Bearsden. One ordered rare and one ordered medium both were a bit tough and again not very warm. Not the worst steak ive ever eaten but nothing to write home about. The chips were the highlight of the main. Sweet: sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, lovely no complaints and the pudding was actually warm which was nice. Breakfast: was buffet style and i went for the Scottish option of a full fry up but unfortunately every single item was look warm and not very nice at all And either under or over cooked. Bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, black pudding and potatoe scone great selection but very low quality. There was plenty of fruit and cereal if thats what you like for breakfast. The only reason i never gave the restaurant 5* for atmosphere is there is ongoing renovations and there was a big digger parked right outside the window where we were dinning literally about 8 feet away completely ruined the view/atmosphere . If i was the restaurant manager i would have demanded the contractors parked it up for the night somewhere else this to me seems basic ? I would like to point out that on night/morning when asked by the staff if everything was to our liking i just gave my standard response of yeah it was ok as i am not comfortable complaining to restaurant staff and would never want my food sent back to the kitchen or to have anything remade. Lastly the draught lager pravha was flat there is no excuse for this adjust the co2 going to the tap its not rocket science.
Our visit was for morning tea... This was our second and we are now looking forward to more.... Easily the BEST MORNING TEA we have experienced.
Ordered the Sunday roast It was cold and there was only a tiny piece of lamb on the plate. I returned it and it was replaced with chicken. Ordered sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for desert. Ice cream consisted of 2 small pieces of something the size of a 50 p. Definitely could not be described as ice cream. Certainly not worth £6.50. On a positive note hubbys fish and chips were good. Been to Lodge on the Loch for lunch on many occasions but extremely disappointed this time. Staff were very pleasant courteous as usual
We loved the use of the spa and only wish we had made more time using the facilities before lunch. We will be back and hopefully next time to stay overnight.
Food was average, in fact over the years has somewhat detiorated in quality. What was always an absolute MUST GO TO, has sadly become a let’s go to, to see if it has got better, and worth the money!!
We had a delicious meal in a wonderful setting overlooking Loch Lomond with the full moon lighting up the loch. Service was exellent and our waitress was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a wonderful experience.
Stunning gorgeous amazing loved it
