Pros: Staff where very attentive and professional, they knew who we were and tried to get us a good table each time. The views through the large windows are amazing Food was served promptly Food in the main was nice particularly the deserts, amazing to be fair Cons: Before we visited we got an email to encourage us to book tables before our visits which we did. Then three days before we were due to arrive we was told renovations works would be carried out in the restaurant. As it was So close to our arrival we didn’t have time to consider whether we would want to stay somewhere that had banging and sawing going on, this was a special occasion being a birthday and wedding anniversary. Our first night we must of had 7 different people serve us which led to things we had asked for being forgotten The menu is limited and was the same for both nights On both nights they didn’t have the fish stated on the menu so we had to have a substitute The cheese board was very uninspired.
Friendly staff and prompt service
The staff were lovely and helpful, the food was utterly delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. The only slight issue was there were a few flies annoying us while we ate but this was to be expected on the shore on a beautiful day. All in all I’d highly recommend.
Wow! We came here for our first anniversary after meeting here the year before The attention to detail was impeccable and the senior host provided us with a complimentary glass of fizz to help us celebrate. We were overwhelmed by the whole experience and can’t wait to return. Thank you!
Staff were very accommodating, we were a little earlier than our booking time however we were moved to a table by the window to enjoy the view on what was a lovely day. My vegetarian classic afternoon tea was delicious and very filling with warm savoury dish included as well as selection of finger sandwiches. My family very much enjoyed their sparkling afternoon tea and commented that their meat based savoury dish was really good. In all the best afternoon tea we’ve had made even better by the incredible views over the Loch and warm friendly staff. Thank you
Beautiful setting, loving the view from the new windows. Staff very cheerful and attentive and food tasting wonderful.
Enjoyed a lovely meal from the service to the standard of the food it was excellent we thoroughly enjoyed it x
The restaurant could have been a bit warmer we had to move to the table at the fire as my wife was cold and uncomfortable but apart from this the staff we’re very helpful and friendly.
Superb setting, lovely rooms.
Service excellent, rooms excellent food excellent but drink a bit expensive.
We had a lovely afternoon tea. Although we were met with scaffolding, the staff went out of their way to give us a liovely view and a lovely time. Full marks to all staff for their warm welcome. Perhaps a few small points- If I had not looked online beforehand at the afternoon tea menu, I would have not known what good and different teas were available . We were not given a written menu with the choices on offer. I was a little surprised that our teas came in small, quite basic stainless steel teapots, more suitable for single morning breakfast service. A more attractive china pot would be more appropriate for the special afternoon tea experience. I asked for Earl Grey, and was a little surprised to be given one unopened sachet on a plate. These are small details- the food itself was delicious, my companion and I had to take some eats away - a very positive move to provide boxes to take home! Overall, a lovely afternoon- perhaps some thought can be put into the presentation of the actual drinking tea elements. Some bone china please! Will definitely return .
Food was excellent and the service very good. The main could have done to have been a bit hotter and the wine more chilled.
Had an amazing 2 night stay here, which on both nights enjoyed a delicious meal at Colquhouns Restaurant. Great choice available and a high standard received from the food to the setting and the very attentive staff. We hope to return again soon.
Really like the hotel but lay 2 visits there has been weddings on so acsses to the main lounge area was very restricted. Couldn’t really sit and relax premeal or after . Had to sit in front hall having drink before meal. 3 course meal was fantastic. Staff first class.
Food was really lovely, though I had the shin of beef and felt it could have been warmer, but was soooo tender, hubby had the fish & chips which he (& I) thoroughly enjoyed.
Some background music would be a welcome addition in my opinion.
Our waitress Amy was fantastic
Very attentive to us and very accommodating to children
Have visited the Lodge on Loch Lomond several times now and it never disappoints. Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with the most beautiful view over the Loch. Excellent service as always.
Food was excellent staff were polite and friendly but the service was a bit slow.
Waited ages on main course then it was a really small portion- ordered fish + chips, partners meal was fine. Then we said yes when offered desert menu- after 15 mins wait we requested the menu as still had not been offered. Breakfast was also below level normally served. Sausage very dry and unable to cut with knife potato scones- we had breakfast at 730am so produce should have been fresh - disappointing.
Lovely meal, service was quite quick and friendly although we never got our water after asking twice but this didn’t dampen the meal!
For a restaurant in a hotel I would expect nothing but fresh produce. Fish was clearly frozen and grey in colour. To be honest my German Shepherd enjoyed the shin of beef I took home from the restaurant after I rinsed all the excess salt from the gravy. Nice location put off by food. Serving staff good.
It was a great time we spent with my wife during the lunch and it was even better in the leisure suit. I started recommending the Lodge among our friends already. Tank you guys!
