About Coggings & Co
Coggings & Co is a fantastic gourmet burger restaurant which has won countless awards since opening in 2014.
Our aim is to serve great burgers, made with local ingredientsthat have been sourced with care, prepared with skill and served with warmth. Our committment to sustainability is second to none and we have the highest possible rating from The Sustainable Restaurant Association.
Our burgers are made onsite each day with steak from a local Sussex farm. Each glorious burger is served with chips cooked in either beef dripping or vegetable oil and it's easy to see why Coggings & Co recently won the title of 'best burger' in The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Awards.
We take the same care over our children's menu and our drinks list features over 20 local beers from Sussex as well as a great range of English wines and organic wines from futher afield.
The Sunday Times recently listed Coggings & Co as one of the top restaurants in The UK for meals under 20.00 a head which shows how much everybody has come to love the food and service at this great family restaurant.
Very disappointed to be cancelled at the last minute.... you’ve known for ages you’re in receivership so why only cancel customers the night before..... when it’s very difficult to find a suitable booking elsewhere
Great staff, Great quality burgers, and great chips
Great service, very lovely atmosphere. Yummy and So so full!
5.15 on a cloudy Sunday- we were the only ons there so not much atmosphere. We had to keep chasing the waiting staff but the food (except the ketchup which was DEFINITELY alcoholic in taste) was great...
The service was friendly and helpful but very slow - and the place was nearly empty. Our children's burgers were burnt and the adult burgers were very dry. You are a burger joint, right? The one thing you have to get right is your burgers! It was suppose to be a treat for my husband on father's day and just so disappointing.
I'm only giving four stars for food and drinks because of the dessert menu. We hadn't been in Coggings for a while and noticed the differences in the menu and the quality of the food (better than before!), but were a little let down by the dessert, although it was nice to see you still do affogato! We had a great time, thank you.
Best burgers in Brighton! Always love coming here.
Excellent quality of burgers - and gluten-free options available. Outside area is stunning when the sun is out. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the best burgers I've enjoyed in Brighton. Slightly on the pricey end of the market, but worth it. If only they could provide diary-free shakes - that would top it off!
A beautiful, airy restaurant with fantastic staff. We were a large party and the food was not slow at all, and as a vegetarian the food was 5 star and really tasty.
Best burgers in town
I have been to coughing before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately this time it took at least 15 minutes of being seated before the waiter came to see us, maybe longer. He did not take drinks orders we had to request them after the burgers. He rolled his eyes at one diner in our parties request (although it was unusual!). The waiter was unfriendly and did not come back again. We had to seek him out to get the bill, he was found chatting with colleagues. Our table was squished in against another- I am slim and struggled to find space to get in, and it was so noisy we struggled to hear each other speak which was a shame. The food was lovely, shame about the staff, they have really put me off returning!
Amateur service. Staff more interested in themselves than customers. Incessant heavy pounding bass from loudspeakers - staff too busy chatting to notice. Burgers OK. Skinny fries from freezer pack. Could be so much better - customer service is the key to a successful business - ignore us and we go elsewhere.
This is the first bad meal I have had at Coggings . All burgers were properly burnt to the level of Dante’s inferno. The chips were limp and generally varied in cooking. I have to say it was tragically bad and a disappointing drop in quality
Very friendly staff, great food. A calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Been here 4 times now on every trip to Brighton. Really enjoy it but a more extensive menu may be better.
The service was very slow considering the restaurant was not busy. The food although nice was not worth the money. The chips were just frozen and had to pay for them separately. The final bill was wrong and had to have it corrected after a discussion with the waiter who did not seem to know what I was talking about as I had paid in advance for some of the food. Overall not a bad experience but would not go again.
Sadly none of us enjoyed it very much. We have been regulars since the restaurant opened and are sad to see that the standards were much lower in all areas. But most importantly the burgers.
Really good quality food but really sad that you've removed the beef shin burger from the menu.
Great burgers, great service. Just a bit concerned that Coggings is loosing the wow factor we've experienced in the past. The chips (are extra, not served with burger as stated) are no longer offered cooked in Veg oil or beef dripping, the website still has a (dead) link to the Christmas menu half way through March, reviews dating back to 2014, and out of date menus.
Very good meal, food, drink, service and atmosphere. Would recommend to friends and family
I enjoyed everything. The one thing I’d love is to have the burger itself more rare. All of the extras and sides were delicious.
Outstanding burger and great service!
The service was amazing, food was wonderful, lovely experience all round
Great friendly service ... scrumptious food as normal! Shame we are now living in London otherwise it would still be our Saturday lunch location !
If you can make it to dessert - try! We had the baked cheesecake on Valentine's night and it was fantastic :-)
