About Cock & Bottle at Tarleton
Fayre Inns are delighted to again partner with Daniel Thwaites in a massive refurbishment project that will see a £1m redevelopment at The Cock & Bottle.
I am not a fan of having to fill in an order form and take it to the bar. It was much nicer when your order was taken at the table for food and drinks. It no longer feels like a dining experience, more a visit to a pub. This, I feel, is resulting in less people dining and more young people congregating in the bar area.
First visit and we already planning the next , food and service excellent .
Lovely lunch with my Mother. Pleasant service, attentive and efficient staff. Food tasty and piping hot. Too full for a dessert after two courses. Comprehensive menu with something for everyone.
We have not long moved to Tarleton and have been quite a few times now to the Cock and Bottle. Food is always fab and service great. We have took family and friends and they love the food presentation and service (staff)and value for money. Would recommend definitely.
Good food, lacking in atmosphere, no background music or candles on the table to create an ambience
Emailed to book and no one replied. Phoned and it took 3 attempts before anyone answered the phone. Arrived and took 5 minutes for anyone to notice we were there. There was then confusion over table or bar service and the waiter offered table service due to there being 17 of us. Took about 20 minutes to take a drinks order and even then we had to ask! Then order had to be again asked to be taken. Food took over an hour to arrive. No further drinks offered. Eventually food arrived. No deserts offered and no more drinks. We became fed up and left!! Upon complaining I was told you’d changed the bar service. This was not clear and customer service was shocking!!! We’ve liked the pub since it reopened and frequent quite regularly. We won’t be rushing back! Moving to bar service is a bad move and will put us coming back and recommending to friends. Such a shame as you had such potential but business live or die in customer service and you haven’t got it right!!!!
Need to up the game!
Took 40minutes for our meals to arrive after ordered. Which is a little bit too long. Booked a table on father's day and had an email saying that dad's get a free dessert when you get a main meal. We had our children with us and father in law, nobody offered us free dessert, plus didn't ask us if we wanted any extra drink's or desserts when they cleared our plates. The pub is nice and atmosphere good, just very slowly service and disappointed with offer not being homoured, couldn't find anyone free to ask, so left disappointed.
Fab breakfast ....not greasy...very hospitable staff ...we will be back ..thank you x
Great food, very nice pub. Definitely recommended.
Perfect service and lovely food! Love the light bites menu 2 courses for £10.
excellent food in impressive surroundings. will become a regular diner
Great food, kids enjoyed the pudding 😀
I like it in the C&B but I think the food is not as good as it was. I had ham and chicken pie with mash and gravy (this was very watery and tasteless). My sister and husband had scampi and chips, the chips were undercooked. Her hubby had burger which was dry. The service for ordering drinks needs to improve as this is very slow. Come on C&B I want you to do well!
We enjoyed our food and drinks thank you.! We loved the decoration and especially the toilets ...which were a joy ! Thank you !
Excellent food every time we dine, especially the Sunday roast it is delicious!
enjoyable Sunday roast
Not enough staff on so we were not asked if our mains were okay. Burger buns were dry. Staff were attentive until more customers came in. Nice place, very clean, tidy, and well presented. Starters were really nice.
Lively night with friends, joined in the pub quiz, good fun.?
This is the fourth time we've had tea at the cock and bottle since the revamp. Tea on Saturday was a bit of a let down. The gammon was incredibly salty needing a glass of water to finish it. We also had dessert and my dad ordered a knickerbocker glory. He had an added surprise when he spooned out a pannini sticker wrapper. The manager was incredibly apologetic and didn't charge us for desserts but how clean are your pots and pans. We left a little disappointed.
First visit as we are moving to the village. Really impressed with the pub itself and couldn't fault any of our meals. Steak and ale pie was excellent
A little bit too expensive for me to be a regular visitor. Could do with a mixed grill option on menu.
We came here last night for my mum's birthday the food was excellent as always we would definitely be visiting again soon
When we arrived the booking hadn’t reached the Cock & Bottle, however there were tables available so no issue. Also disappointed the Fisherman’s Pie has been replaced on the new menu, that said there’s plenty of other options to choose from. Stayed for the quiz afterwards which was great.
