About Coal Grill and Bar Telford
Delicious fresh food full of flavour and a rainbow of cocktails all served in a welcoming, relaxed and friendly environment. Table bookings for up to 6 people, please contact us for larger numbers.
I found the staff really friendly and helpful, unfortunately even though the food was prebooked, it took a long time for food to be served - one of our group had to leave before dessert. The position of the tables meant we one half of the group were in bright sunshine, and although a staff member attempted to improve the situation, it did not help all of those affected. Really need to look into having improved climate control. Due to the staff being friendly and helpful, the scores are higher than they would have been. The food and drink was good, but value for money was hit by some things being slightly overpriced.
A group of 10 work colleagues went to the Coal Bar and Grill, Telford on 12 December 2018. The food and service was excellent. We were served delicious food, promptly. The menu provided had something to suit everyone's tastes. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Well done to the servers for great customer service.
Overall the food was good, but very overpriced for what you were served. The service was fair, not exceptional, and not worthy of the service charge added to the bill! Surroundings and atmosphere were probably the best part of the dining experience. It was enjoyable but I won't be returning.
We had a few issues with food very overcooked hard to eat items missing from our plates and both me and my partner have had an upset tummy since
Need to get the online booking system sorted. I had an email confirmation but when we got to the restaurant they didn’t have a table for us. They did find us one however
Hi Katherine, thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Thanks for the bringing the system to our attention we are working on this right now. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Great food, great service
Dear Vickie, thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback. We’re so pleased to hear you had a good time at Coal Grill & Bar and hope to see you back here soon!
I find the coal grill quite expensive we have eaten here since it first opened and we have seen changes to menu and huge increase in menu prices quite of putting really. If prices continue to rise people will simply go elsewhere.
Really great food just a bit pricey.
service and food was slow, food was nothing special for the price. Waitress had an attitude.
Service was a little slow but it was very busy and i do appreciate that, the waiter himself was very polite and got everything right but we did have to wait a bit for some drinks and for the desserts
It was my first time here. It was my birthday treat. WELL what can I say ! what a FAB place. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere great and the service, WELL what can I say the young lady who served us was an exuberant lovely chatty helpful person. She deserves rise !!!! Definitely be back
Friendly service, good customer service.
Overall the food was very nice and the service was good. I had the coal burger which I found quite dry. The Nacho starter is tasty but the addition of tin tomatoes, rather than the salsa, make the nacho's rather soggy.
Me and my family had a lovely time, meals were lovely and service great thankyou
Waiting staff good and efficient. Food took a little long. Waited 55 mins for our main courses but other than that nice clean, friendly place to eat. The food was absolutely delicious as well, worth the longer than average wait.
Service was very friendly.
Tables extremely close together , can hear everything your neighbour saying and feel like dining with them !
Our waitress (red hair) was amazing from start to finish she really knew how to look after families as eating with very small children can be stressful
Great range of gluten free choices on the menu. Made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The only thing that would have improved the experience was a gluten free beer!
Service staff did not ask if food was ok . Waited 30 mins for a drink we ordered after reminding them . Staff didn’t get our resavation right
Food was OK, staff were very good and attentive, but the price of the meal (for what was essentially some re-heated, pre-packed food) was astronomical - approx. £63 for 2 people to eat a mains each and a shared dessert (no starter!) You know what you're getting with chain restaurants a lot of the time, but you don't expect that price. To put in perspective, the week before, I fed a family of 4 at a Wetherspoons for £20 less than this meal for 2 - the quality of the food was no different. This seems par the course for the Southwater restaurants though. Drinks also - extortionate. A bottle of Erdinger - around £6.30! you can buy it on tap around the corner for approx half the price. Nothing wrong with the place or the service, but value for money desperately needs looking at, when you're charging more than AA Rosette standard restaurants in the area.
A fabulous night. Great cocktails and tasty food. We’ve been many times and keep returning.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back again
