About Coal Grill and Bar - Gloucester Quays
We are set in the stunning Pillar and Lucy Warehouse in Glocester Quays. We have heaps of atmosphere, with exposed brickwork, low ceilings, timber beams and a waterside view. Sit back and enjoy the
south facing terrace or have a drink in our cosy cocktail bar.
The restaurant is directly opposite the cinema and adjacent to the factory outlet centre.
Never had a bad meal here. Lovely food.
Food and drink was great quality and very tasty, would definitely be returning.
Expensive compared with some other chains 10% service charge added to bill, no choice. Served an obviously dirty glass. Had run out of chicken wings. Other than that fine...
Great customer service
Lovely evening had can't wait to go back
Great service considering it was so busy.
Very disappointed with my first visit. We were celebrating with family. The seats had tape on them over the rips. Which was coming off so the sticky side tried to stick to our clothes. Plus your bbq plate with the 3 plates is miss sold. £19.95 + £1.75. Why don’t you just advertise it as £21.70. When it arrived it certainly didn't live up to our expectations. A shame as we had such high hopes. Also you didn’t have a baby changing facility. We asked a member of staff who advised it was downstairs?! We couldn’t find it. Hopefully you’ll listen to my comments and make some changes. Such minor things that could have made our experience perfect.
Lovely food, great service, bit pricey but ok once in awhile
Intend to return
Went for our wedding anniversary. We arrived early and were seated straight away. Food and drinks arrived quickly. Staff were welcoming and attentive. We had a wonderful time. Will go back again.
Cocktails, meal and service were all superb. Will definitely return :-)
Lovely meal, wish we could afford to eat here all the time , but a great place on a special occasion. Steaks are the best in Gloucester by a country mile.
The staff were very friendly. Service was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and it was a lovely atmosphere. Thank you
My husbands food was beef brisket was in edible dry and thick pieces if meat
Good food, good service.
Waited 20 minutes just for a jug of water, had to ask twice for a drink, asked the starters to come with the mains however the starters came out bar one persons, as they were too busy and we had to wait for our mains another 20 minutes, food came out bar one persons and had to wait 15 minutes till that main came out in which it was stone cold, gave us discounts however still unacceptable as was for a birthday meal pre booked
Lovely food, a little bit of a wait for the food to come out, which was a shame as we were supposed to be on our lunch hour, but wasn't overly a problem. Looking forward to visiting again
Waiter came to table asked if we were ready to order food didn’t ask us if we wanted drinks had to say can we order drinks first. Had sizzling chicken fajitas they were not sizzling only two small pieces of chicken not enough for the wraps & not very hot very disappointing
It wasn’t busy and yet the service was quite slow. One of the waiting staff didn’t make any effort to make you feel welcome and then to add on a 10% service charge, for what? I certainly won’t be returning to Coal in Gloucester Quays.
Great service Good Food Defiantly would go again
Really friendly and professional staff
Food was great, quite expensive though
Hi, When we 1st arrived we stood and waited to be seated for 5/10 minuets even though there were 6 member of staff congregated at the bar area doing nothing, we had to go up and ask about our booking. We added additional notes for a high chair to be put in place, this was not there when we arrived and the manager was surprised to see we required one (even though it was on the booking notes) Sorry to say but the service was slow, it took ages for our starters and then mains to come out. My starter was very disappointing for the price we paid (grilled halloumi and peppers) 2 slices of peppers and 1 slice of halloumi was not good. When I ordered my main I was then told after that there was no Beef Brisket so then I had to rush to choose something else (surly we should have been told this when seated and menus passed out?) We ordered the child's menu for my nephew, the ice cream didn't even arrive so we paid the bill and left. The waiter was not really interested in giving a good service. Sorry to say but we wont be returning to this branch of coal. Very disappointed. : (
