The food was good, the tea selection was great, the service was friendly, and the view was excellent. The booking was for our 20th anniversary celebration, and even thought the staff was friendly, nothing was done especially for this occasion, I noticed that another table was celebrating a birthday and the birthday person had a complimentary drink with a happy birthday plate which was nice. I was slightly disappointed that our occasion didn’t have that. But neither less, it was still lovely.
Lovely experience, I had requested a table by the window as my friend and I were celebrating our birthdays and that is what we got. The service was a little slow at times but it wasn't difficult to get a waitress's attention and on the whole we had a very nice afternoon. The cakes and sandwiches were all delicious and I liked the Christmas theme. I would definitely recommend Cloud 23.
Great service and value. Excellent evening
The service on Saturday was really slow and the waitress was very rude towards my partner when she was asking about drinks. Normally the service is second to none.
Staff very friendly couldn't do enough for you, food and atmosphere great
Spectacular views over the city and high quality cocktails. Didn’t know what to expect but was very impressed. Thank you
Nice evening - great drinks and view
Loved my time at Cloud 23. View was fantastic and the food was good. Took some time to get served each time though yet I still left happy.
Very average at best!
Very relaxing and enjoyable couple of hours. The views over Manchester are fantastic, and there was a very good sunset too.
Booked 'free flowing' brunch for my birthday and start to finish we experienced disappointing, poor and rude service. I fully understand the 'must finish your drink before you have another' rule however when drinks were taking 10+ minutes to arrive, we found we were sat without a drink more often than with one - not really 'free flowing'. Further contradicting this, some members of my party were being told they were not allowed to order another as they had not finished but yet were allowing some others to order more, not very professional. I had been speaking to Antonia over email prior to my booking who was very helpful and arranged the booking for me, she also requested we pre-ordered our food due to the size of our party (10 people) so I did this and sent our order a few days before our arrival. However, when we arrived the waitress told me she would be over to take our food order soon. I assumed they had not received our order so we swiftly re-ordered with her. After ordering we waited approximately 40-50 minutes for our food and when we asked our waitress how much longer she said 'another 10 minutes as you did not pre-order' so I told her we had and she went to speak to the kitchen. When she returned she told me 'I know the customer is always right but, you're wrong because the chef doesn't have it'. At this point, I showed her my 'sent' emails to prove I had sent them and really did not receive any form of apology. To top off the experience, another waitress began to clear our plates when three of my party were still eating. She noticed they were still eating then continued to clear plates, very rude service with again no apology. Felt very unwelcomed throughout the whole experience and pressured to leave after she had cleared our plates. Such a shame, amazing venue and views. My food was lovely however many of my friends had hard boiled 'poached eggs'. We didn't say anything as quite frankly we were starving and already were fed up of calling over members of staff for more issues. Loved the 'Happy Birthday' plank with prosecco and strawberries I received and was really impressed with that until I found the fly in my drink... waitress did swiftly resolve that so wasn't an issue. Wouldn't return nor recommend to a friend unless just visiting for a drink.
my wife and I received a warm welcome and super duper service, thank you very much.
Booked a window table, that was definitely a great decision. The view was amazing. Cocktails were very tasty and staff friendly. It wasn’t busy when we were there since it was a Wednesday night, so I feel like it would’ve been great and perfectly doable if someone from the staff would’ve checked in on us just a little more often
1) I requested a table by the window 3 months before my visit, heard nothing back and was told we couldn’t sit by the window as it was reserved (a reservation I tried to make 3 months prior to attending). 2) Poor service! We ordered two drinks and waited for approximately 20 minutes for them to be made, 10 minutes after the waiter took our order he came back as he had forgotten it. 3) The bar is lovely however for the price of the cocktails there isn’t a great deal of variety. Wasn’t best please with my experience here and wish I had taken my partner to 20 Stories instead.
The view is stunning. The setting is a little tired... most chairs are poor. The staff were extremely pleasant but had to be prompted constantly to supply cutlery and take dirty dishes away etc and we waited a very long time for sandwiches and cakes.
Very disappointing sums up our recent birthday treat. The sandwich selection was good but we were not taken by the texture of the coloured bread. Extremely disappointed by the sweet selection comprising a chewy flapjack, a stale tasting tiny millionaires shortbread and a bright yellow sickly cupcake. Not worth the £55 bill. Service was poor. No waitress in sight and never offered a much needed top up drink. Waited ages to get the bill and longer to pay.
The skyscrapers being built around you has detrimentally affected the view on bonfire night. Still impressive for other nights. The food was an odd, over-fussy mix. Drinks were good but expensive.
Has to ask for thing from Many different people before actually getting it. I was advised things will be straight out but took 15 ,20 mins .
Staff very welcoming and friendly
Great, place. Amazing staff. The afternoon tea needs significant improvement.
Service not great, inattentive and clumsy. Food good quality but has deteriorated since I last came - meagre in quantity compared to other Manchester afternoon tea experiences. No house champagne or Prosecco available. Then the Veuve Cliquot ran out after one bottle! Paid £400 while there but definitely feel it wasn’t worth the money.
Really appreciated the welcome as it was my birthday with the free shot of Prosecco
