About Cloud 23
Cloud 23 is a destination bar on the 23rd floor of the Beetham Tower. Overlooking the iconic cityscape, take a seat by our floor-to-ceiling windows and revel in an afternoon or evening of indulgence and elegance. From opulent interiors to innovative drinks, afternoon tea and food menus, Cloud 23 is an experience you will never forget.
I'd suggest a little more direction on where to go when you arrive in the hotel. The area itself is very suave and the background music is nice and subtle.
Unfortunately not as good as we had hoped. From being seated it took 45 minutes for the food to be brought out - and then they had included a dietary error which I had made clear on the booking and to the waitress. A further 15 minutes before the replacement sandwich was brought out. Asked for a second pot of tea - took 25 minutes and had to ask twice. The waitress was lovely but clearly let down by the kitchen service. And then was charged an additional 10% service charge when the service had been anything but good. A lovely afternoon with my daughter but definitely not worth what we paid.
Lovely afternoon tea, great views, excellent service. Shame it costs so much! £110, plus 10% service charge for afternoon tea for two plus 2 glasses of champagne each is a bit steep!!
Really enjoyed our visit and the staff made it extra special
Fantastic experience and would highly recommend. Certainly be visiting again!!
Would not recommend, truly terrible service. Food was ok but nothing could make up for being ignored and having to ask again and again for more drinks. Ruined my hen do with my mum and best friend and her daughter. Never again
The service we was provided was outstanding, would highly recommend .Waitress went above and beyond, made us feel extremely comfortable ,and was very friendly.
The only thing which let it down, was the 10% service charge added to the bill at rhe end.
Very disappointing visit. Though my booking was made back in April the seats we were given were squashed in a small place next to a counter opposite an entrance door. Though the views of Manchester were stunning, I was also looking at the computer on the counter from my seat. (Not ideal when I look at a computer everyday at my place of work) We certainly weren’t amongst the atmosphere we could only hear from our enclosed area. The first drinks order arrived and it was incorrect. The curtain we were sat next to was tattered and torn and looked dirty. Not acceptable at all. The food was very average for the price. The scones were dry and the sandwiches were tasteless. The sweet slices however tasted better. Our waitress was rude. She did however apologise when this feedback was given to her. To cap off the experience our bill was incorrect and had to be redone. I am visiting from Australia and this was supposed to be a wonderful afternoon with close family members I don’t see often. We made the most of the afternoon together and we certainly enjoyed the views, but I would not recommended this venue as somewhere to visit for a special occasion.
Brilliant staff - really helpful with making our graduation celebration special. They happily stored the giant helium balloon that I’d delivered the day before and put it out on our table before we arrived which my daughter loved! A really special afternoon.
Service rather slow. Seated promptly on arrival then time delay before order was taken. Later, waited 12 minutes for teapot refill then had to ask again. Tea itself, and afternoon tea food, were tasty.
Amazing service from the staff. The afternoon tea was perfect and really filling. Could not recommend it more. Thanks so much for a lovely afternoon
Amazing place... scenery was beautiful 8/10
I felt disappointed with the service we received. I had booked a table of 12 for a friend’s 30th birthday and we didn’t get a drink until 35 minutes into our 2 hour booking!
Was for a special occasion for our 50th birthdays !! We got put on a table in front of service till , shocking really and noisy , so asked to be moved !! Food was quite nice , service just ok , overpriced we thought for the champagne afternoon tea Room very dated now needs an overhaul Wouldn’t return Much nicer venues for same or less money
Lovely but service charge of 10% is unnecessary when the bill is high anyway. Puts a dampener on it and you feel to guilty to refuse.
Booked bottomless brunch for my friends hen do and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and when they say bottomless drinks they mean bottomless drinks, we got so much for our money it was worth every penny, the staff were lovely and it was overall a great experience. The bride to be certainly enjoyed it too!
Although the vibe of the place was great, I was disappointed with the service. At one point we waited over 20 mins for tea. We had to ask to change the cups and take away the empty tea saucers. Also I wasn't expecting to pay 10% for service when I didn't think the service was good.
I bought the experience for a friend's 80th birthday. Their feedback was: very good decor low seats small cups great food great view Hope helpful, Joan James
Great and friendly staff Staff go out their way to make sure everything's how you want it and added a free birthday touch which was great
Started off as a brilliant day, until a bunch of people having bottomless brunch brought the atmosphere down by screaming across the restaurant can I have a refill. It's completely understandable people want to make the most of the money but there are certain ways to do so. And management certainly should have said something, because one the waitress looked uncomfortable and two the other guest started to become uneased like myself. As soon as the group arrived our table received hardly any service, we asked for a cocktail and the guy responded with oh I'll go and check and he never came back. It took a while to get any attention to get another non alcoholic drink. Since then we waiting a total of half an hour to get somebodies attention for the bill, and when the bill did come it wasn't correct. Over charging £20. I visited the Cloud 23 when it first opened and can honestly say the class which you pay for just isn't there. The food looks nothing special. For the price £35 pp you expect flavour. I would strongly tell people not to go to this place, unless you want to be stuck in a corner with loud people just coming to make use of the bottomless drinks offer. Since my visit the next weekend I wen't to another afternoon tea in my local town and WOW the service, cleanliness, atmosphere and half the price it wasn't even comparable to Cloud23. It was amazing ever since we walked through the door to the moment we left we was greeted with smile. Big companies like this lack the service, as they are all about the money which is such a shame. This place used to be amazing but unfortunately on this visit we left very unhappy, frustrated we spent that much on such a special occasion and finally a waste of our time. Won't be visiting again, and I urge others to avoid the hype around this place there is many other restaurants around which are miles better.
Superb afternoon spent looking over the sights of Manchester, dealt with expertly by the team with a small issue which had the chance of ruining the afternoon. Thank you, we will be back!
This is the third time I have been for afternoon tea/brunch. Excellent service as always and great atmosphere. Value for money was excellent. Will definitely be coming back.
