About The Cliveden Dining Room
Precisely executed and exquisitely presented dishes are what guests at The Cliveden Dining Room can expect. Situated in the beautiful Cliveden House and overlooking stunning National Trust gardens, visitors are surrounded by grace and grandeur as they enjoy a dining experience to be remembered for all the right reasons.
The tremendous talent and irrepressible drive of the team at Cliveden is evident throughout the dining experience, from the harmonious atmosphere in the kitchen to the immaculate finishes to innovative dishes. This extends into the restaurant space itself, where princely decor and attentive service create a truly incomparable dining setting. Steered by the availability of seasonal produce, the well-conceived à la carte and tasting menus are a gastronomic tour de force of outstanding English produce.
Though both offerings change frequently, a sample à la carte might list starters of Portland crab and roasted cauliflower with cauliflower couscous and wild sea herbs, and twice-baked Lincolnshire Poacher soufflé. For the main event, diners might sample the likes of a fillet of skrei cod with fennel, saffron and
shellfish; Jurassic Coast rose veal with sweetbread, carrot and black garlic; or a loin of locally stalked wild roe deer with salt-baked beetroot, blackberry and parsley root.
Food, service all good my only suggestion is please could you improve the lighting. I appreciate this is an historic house but it is just too dark
Absolutely delicious Sunday roast. Great service. 👍👍👍
Excellent service and delicious well presented food. The Dining Room is a beautiful place to enjoy a special evening out. The whole experience was wonderful.
Fabulous celebratory Sunday lunch at an iconic venue. Delicious food all round and excellent service.
Food fantastic. Excellent service and staff so helpful and polite. The bonbon trolley is an amazing idea perfectly executed
We visited Cliveden Dining Rooms for my father’s birthday. We were very well looked after and the staff even left a birthday card on the table for my father. Food was very good and we were allowed to bring a birthday cake to substitute dessert. The venue itself is beautiful. We are likely to come back based on this visit.
un hermoso aniversario!!!gracias
Service was attentive without being "in your face" Great space for a treat.
A delicious Sunday lunch, very good service and lovely atmosphere. Definitely to be repeated.
Beautful view, excellent food and service. Highly recommend
We enjoyed ourselves as usual - I was particularly impressed that the sommelier remembered that I had a preference for a particular style of champagne glass! My only issue is that there is no lunch service on a Saturday as I could then come twice!
We had Dover sole which was delicious The pushed potato was rather disappointing (clearly spent too long under a heat lamp) The cost of the sides give the portion size does not feel like good value. The service was impeccable. The salted caramel soufflé was superb.
Tasting menu always amazing. Welcoming service.
The food and service was fantastic
We could not have chosen a better place for our celebratory (Pearl wedding anniversary) meal. The staff spoilt us from the moment we entered the dining room until the moment we left. The food was truly delicious as was the Cliveden 66 cocktail. Thank you Cliveden Dining Room for making our evening so special.
The experience, was lovely. Service excellent and food first class, the one fly in the ointment was an under-cooked souffle desert, but this was removed from the bill. We would certainly return
Superb dining experience comparable to that of a Michelin Star restaurant.
Fantastic Sunday Lunch
Cliveden is always a delight, nothing is ever too much trouble, from the moment you arrive till the time that you sadly have to leave, the food is superb, we count the staff as our dear friends. The dining room to us is a theatre and we love every second as part of the audience.
A sommelier with an attitude problem, he seemed confused when I asked for a recommendation and pointed us straight to a £350 wine with no real explanation why. Our starters were served before the wine we had selected had arrived. When I queried this, I was given a blank confused stare by the waiter. Just not a great experience overall. The food was good but would have tasted better with a better attitude from the staff. To be fair, one of the waiters was engaging and fun.
We had a fantastic dinner at the hotel, our only regret was that we did not have enough room for the salted caramel soufflé. The quality was first class and the waiters were very helpful and attentive.
Great views as well.
We came for Sunday lunch to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. From the moment we arrived and were met at the door and then inside, everyone was very friendly and welcoming, it provided a great start. The waiting staff and just about everyone we had any dealing with made us feel valued guests. The food was excellent, and the wine by the glass selection was excellent (I only had the one...designated driver, however my wife...different wine with each course, and champers to start too!). We will return!
service and politeness of staff very good. Tasters menu very good and not rushed.
