About Cinque Ports
A "best of British" story, with roots dating back to Mods & Rockers.
We serve food as good as you can get, simple bold flavours, classic gastro pub dishes with continental influences. Our menu is seasonal with local produce as we believe local tastes better. Roasted meats, seasonal vegetables, local fish and shellfish offered on a daily basis.
We always enjoy visiting Cinque Ports, great staff, service and great food.
I love inviting my friends from out of town here for a roast on a Sunday. Your staff are friendly, dogs are welcome and your food is good. It's interesting that if you sit downstairs, it's a totally different atmosphere to being up the stairs near the kitchen - although it's colder, it's a lovely, welcoming place for the doggies! If I was being REALLY picky, each course should have come out quicker and it would be great if the bill was set out to match the pricing on the menu, so everyone knows what they've paid for (ie. if 4 people pay for 2 courses, and 1 person pays for 3 courses, the bill should read £17.00, 4 times and £21.00, once...not itemised by each course. I appreciate this is for the understanding of the incredible kitchen staff talented chefs and getting the right orders through, but the receipt should be for the customer, and should 'match' the menu. I'm sure you'd get less annoying people (like me) challenging it, and getting their own calculators out! Anyway, by no means is this a complaint - we were royally stuffed and satiated from your hospitality. Thank you!
Friendly, kind and helpful front of house and waiting staff. Food was very good indeed. Our two young children also enjoyed their roast lunches. Great warm atmosphere and decor. Tables not on top of each other.
Came in for Burger Monday offer - delicious and huge beef burger for £5 what’s not to like! Excellent, friendly service as always. We’ll be back 😊
Great Sunday lunch - highly recommended
Great meal, nice place. Unusual not to be able to tip when paying with a card? If it's so it isn't taxed and the staff get more money fine. But there needs to be warning up front.
The team were amazing - from the guys who set up the room for us, to the kitchen and waiting staff who helped make a hectic party (14 adults and 15 kids!) run smoothly. The food was amazing with very generous portions, especially of the kids meals. Having the whole of the Quarterdeck meant that the kids were free to run around without annoying other diners! We had a bit of juggling to do with the bill (given the numbers - not a massive surprise!) - and were able to claim a 10% Dreamland member discount! - so overall a great success! Would definitely recommend
Had a Lovely evening midweek having a relaxed drink and a meal. Food good, staff really friendly, will definitely go again 👍Brilliant position looking out to sea
The bank holiday Monday lunch menu wasn’t very exciting, it took us a while to order because nothing was of interest to us so eventually it was burgers all round. The food was fine -although the beef burger “served medium rare” was very well done- but the overall experience was ruined when our plates were eventually cleared but it was then another lengthy wait for the dessert menus -and the kids’ ice creams that were included with their meals (or so it seems on their menus). After half an hour I actually had to call someone to come over and just decided on the bill instead as we still hadn’t even been presented with dessert menus and the air con was making us feel really miserably cold (which was odd because it was a very cloudy, breezy day and one of the waiters offered to close the door because of how cold my daughter said she was!).
Delicious Sunday roast and fantastic service
The venue is great, the service is great. We had a roast dinner with the promise of duck fat roasted potatoes that had never seen an oven. They are barely cooked and had been dipped in a deep fat fryer. Very disappointing as the rest of the meal was very good. But you can't have a roast dinner without roast potatoes especially when the promise was made on the menu we were handed when seated.
Good communication when booking for a large table.
The menu is very limited. A huge menu is not a great thing but a couple more choices would be good or returning frequently isn’t exciting
The food took forever to arrive especially given that it was a Sunday and the only option was roast it still took 45mins to turn up and it wasn’t busy. It was lovely when it arrived and the staff were friendly but the children were climbing the walls waiting as they were starving. I hope it was just a one off as I would like to go back again but not sure I can cope with the trauma of bored hungry children a second time
Excellent service, very attentive even though we were sitting outside. They saw that it was my birthday and wished me happy birthday. The roast lamb was superb. Every element of it was well cooked and spot on. Very pleasantly surprised by such quality food and service.
Great place, great staff, great vibes.
Nice Sunday Roast in lovely restaurant.. My only complaint would be that seats need cushions on them, they are not overly comfortable.
Enjoyed a yummy roast for 2 adults and 2 young hyper children. Generous servings and tasty gravy. The staff were all helpful, accommodating and friendly. Didn’t make us feel self conscious about the noise levels at our table. Very enjoyable Sunday afternoon 😊
Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch and great service.
Great food, staff and atmosphere.
Nice food good service. Would go back.
A lovely personal touch and so professional, thankyou. Nadean, one of the managers, is a real asset to your company.
Thanks for a great evening well done to you all.
Had a great time at quiz. Always enjoy the food and friendly service.
