About Chubby Cherub
If you have ever been to the cafes and restaurants of italy you will observe the small, compact and quaint nature of autentic italian café culture.
The chubby cherub is designed with this premise in mind.
We are a small intimate venue and therefore space is at a premium. Elbow room in some cases is not aforded for large groups however, we feel this makes the chubby cherub experience much better
Food ok, but not mind-blowing, service adequate at best, Had to have the bill corrected as a service charge had been added automatically, supposed to be added on parties of 6 or more according to online booking, and an advanced deposit of £10 had not been taken into account.
It is a lovely restaurant and the staff were amazing. There were a few things missing from the menu but there were nice alternitives. Everything was perfect.
Service was 4 out of 5 simply due to one member of staff who came across quite abrupt
Delicious as always and the most lovely ambience to eat in! One of my favourite restaurants in Belfast. Thank you guys for waiting on us. 😊
Our experience was disappointing primarily due to the service. There were a few very good staff members who were unfortunately let down by their colleagues primarily the front of house host. I’m not sure if she was overwhelmed by it being a busy Saturday but her attitude was poor and it felt like everything was a big ask. We were also overcharged in that despite confirming we had paid a deposit upon booking she didn’t deduct it from our bill ( I’ve emailed separately about this). We gave a tip mainly as one of the ladies serving was very good, as was the guy at the bar and the host didn’t even say thank you. Given the overall experience we really shouldn’t have tipped. On a separate point and maybe one not so easily rectified the place smells badly of damp and there is a problem with flies. Hopefully these issues can be addressed as the place has so much potential in terms of style and location.
Food was really tasty. Staff were super friendly front of house staff members could of been more welcoming. Over all would definitely come back.
Staff just seemed too busy, difficult to get attention or service. Disappointing given service charge added and appeared to be plenty of waiting staff.
Had a lunch date with my best friend was impressed with our service and the menu had some great choices to select from I had the salmon tagliatelle which was perfect and my friend had the Amalfi salad with was a great choice washed down with a carafe of Gavi wine Will definitely be back & would recommend this great restaurant 🍽️🥂
Food was delicious, all the staff were so friendly. Lovely evening and will definitely be back
We waited quite a while for our food. People who arrived quite a while after us were served around the same time, also I didn’t like a sevice charge being automatically charged to the bill. I found that very presumptuous.
Had a pleasant evening. A bit pricey.
Staff Excellent, wait a bit long for main course
Excellent food, wine and service
We visited last night for my wife's birthday and only got the table for 1 hour and 30 minutes, felt very rushed and my wife ended up eating her main at different time to myself as my order was wrong and had to be sent back. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Cocktails seriously over priced and served in a small glass with an iceberg in it to disguise the fact that the £10.75 cocktail was maybe quarter filled. Got good recommendations and was looking forward to it but just did not enjoy our experience as much as I would of liked.
Brought my wife and children not ideal for younger kids only glasses and normal cutlery however that can’t detract from the service and great food
Fabulously independent style and atmosphere. Great service, delicious food Thoroughly recommend this Italian restaurant - will be back next time we are in Belfast.
Nice venue but food very “ordinary” and pricy for what you get.
Amazing place, so romantic, great food and drinks!
A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Food was amazing.
I had a lovely meal here for my birthday. The food was beautiful and the gin brambles were even better. It is on the little more expensive side though. We had to pay an extra £50 (approx) for service charge, alcohol tax and something else.
Lovely staff. Ok food
Was really disappointed
Over priced and tried to take £20 more off me than they should have between service charges, ‘custom items’ and VAT because I didn’t drink alcohol, even though I’m only 17, overpriced rubbish will not be returning
Service pace was fine but our server was not very pleasant which effected our visit. Would return and recommend for the food, drinks and overall restaurant though
