About Chilston Park Hotel
The period charm of our traditional Kentish country house, Chilston Park, sets the tone for an authentic and memorable dining experience in the heart of the county. For formal yet relaxed evening dining, Culpeper’s award-winning restaurant near Maidstone offers a menu of seasonal modern British dishes. To accompany your meal, delve into the wine list – our experienced team will be happy to guide you through our selection, including our rare whiskies and brandies.
The elegant Marble Lounge offers an idyllic setting for traditional Afternoon Tea – with plenty of contemporary touches – and in the summer enjoy a light bite out on the terraces where you’ll feel every bit at home.
Gorgeous hotel and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely afternoon tea, with as much tea as we wanted and top ups of jam and cream for our perfect scones. We would recommend this to anyone who loves a traditional tea.
Lovely afternoon.. great service and delicious afternoon tea.
We had a lovely afternoon tea and the service was good - nice staff and our complicated ordering was accommodated well. Would definitely return.
Everything about the day was perfect, venue, lovely staff and exquisite food
Sirloin steak very tough...very poor value at £35
The best customer service i have had in years
Tea was delicious, service was prompt and effective
I had afternoon tea at Chilston Park over the Christmas period. While the atmosphere was very festive and the service adequate, I thought the Savoury Afternoon Tea menu was made up of snacks quite unappealing and very dated. Surely these days one would expect much more moorish and visually appetising offerings!
Our first time to your hotel and it was fabulous. Very attentive service, excellent quality food and champagne and the surroundings were beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend to everyone.
Service was a bit slow - we wanted another glass of champagne but waited so long to see anyone that we just paid up and left. Such a shame as I’ve been a couple of times before and it’s always been great service.
Fantastic experience, attentive and excellent service.
First time visit, and was very impressed with the atmosphere, service and high level of service. The Afternoon tea was delicious. The grounds and building are impressive and in excellent state, and the Christmas decor was stylish. Truely a memorable visit, so much so that we intend to revisit in the summer for an overnight stay.
We arrived early and asked to be sat by the Christmas tree when the people who were sat there had finished. However when we came trough, that table was occupied by 2 other people who had arrived after us. We were then sat next to the till which was noisy and draughty. The food and service was good but the lounge lacked atmosphere and as we were on the edge we had to put up with people walking up and down and also using the lounge to exit the building. We’ve been to Chilston Park several times for afternoon tea and this was a disappointing experience.
Beautiful venue, friendly welcoming staff beautiful food, lovely start to Christmas.
All good apart from hot selection in savoury afternon tea was just about lukewarm . Excellent service apart from that
Staff were very attentive and professional. Calm atmosphere and excellent food! Will be visiting again
Really enjoyed my afternoon tea. The server was very attentive and made our afternoon more special.
Had a very nice meal, but rather expensive.
Excellent friendly and efficient service - sitting in the Marble lounge for tea was a real treat - thank you !
A beautiful hotel with all the bells and whistles. Would absolutely return again!
We thoughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. The hotel was beautifully decorated.
Unfortunately the mushroom tart had been made with a sweet pastry. Other than that service was good and the rest of the food was excellent. Thanks for a lovely festive afternoon.
I came for afternoon tea to celebrate my friends 60th birthday. We had a delightful afternoon. Thank you.
We had our wedding with you 19 years ago and have been back a few times since. Yesterday we took another couple of friends for afternoon tea but the 'perfection' we have always previously experienced was not there. A serviette and two cups were missing from the original table set up so we had to ask for them. We could pick the festive menu or savoury. We all decided on the festive but there was not one cake as described on the 'festive' menu. We thought maybe the mince pies would come out at the end but nothing. The scones although smelt delicious when they arrived, were rock hard by the time we come to eat them. We then had to wait to pay as we could not find anyone! The Chilston Park is special to us as we have great memories of our wedding, but we left somewhat disappointed yesterday.
