Such a lovely place so pleased to be back
Lovely setting and super friendly staff!
Our cheese scones were like rocks so we brought this to the attention of the waiter who replaced them promptly with fresh ones. Overall a very enjoyable afternoon tea! Thank you.
Always have the best time at Chilston Park, the staff are always so attentive and friendly.
Lovely place, great service, very friendly, so pleased that a savory menu was available.
Dreadful service. We were in the restaurant for 2.5 hours and only managed to be served 2 courses. Had to ask for Yorkshire puddings with the roast beef. No stuffing with the roast chicken. Had to ask for bread with soup, no soup spoons. Manager had gone home when we asked to see him. Not good for such a prestigious place.
Lovely setting, savoury scones were like rocks. Service was lovely. Pity the afternoon tea wasn’t anything to rave about. It was okay. Would I go back for food, unlikely as it wasn’t a wow for me but was still nice. We did have a quiet afternoon which is what we wanted really.
We had afternoon tea with friends for a birthday treat and thoroughly enjoyed the savory choice of tea. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.
Took my Grandmother for afternoon tea here for her 80th birthday. We had a fabulous experience. Wonderful setting and ambience. Food was fresh and tasty. Would definitely come here again and maybe next time try a dinner
We did enjoy the venue but I was a bit disappointed with the traditional afternoon tea. The sandwiches were OK but not overly exciting and the cakes were not very nice, either too sweet or dry or both and again, not very interesting, I felt that they had just provided cakes I could easily pick up from any shop when I feel that in an afternoon tea, they should be a bit more special. However, with all that being said, I will say that the staff were very polite and friendly.
On arrival waited quite some time before being shown to our table. When cream tea arrived no explanation as to what fillings where in the sandwiches or what the cakes were. No waiter/waitress came to see if everything was fine with our tea or whether we required more hot drinks. Very poor service on this occasions n.
Absolutely brilliant, good food, very good attentive service, excellent surroundings and a very good price
Loverly food in relaxing elegant surrounding. Very attentive, friendly staff.
I really think there should be a minimum age for afternoon tea. We were next to a table of ladies who had brought two under 5s who were very bored and wanted to run around and yell as young children do. Not their fault at all, but I’m afraid it did impact on the ambience for everyone else. I’m not really sure why their parents thought this was a suitable event for them to attend. I have two young children myself and if I couldn’t get a babysitter I honestly wouldn’t bother booking. Everything else was amazing though! The staff, the venue, the food etc.
Great way to spend an afternoon
Fantastic staff, lovely champagne and atmosphere. Only thing that let it down was rock hard scones and tasteless patisseries - rather disappointing. As it was a 2 4 1 there is no complaints over price, just a shame the cakes were not up to standard. Special mention to our lovely waiter though, he was so helpful and friendly. As I said, lovely surroundings.
Hi Would have liked a bit of background music on a low level. Classical/piano/harp? Service was excellent as was the afternoon tea. Perhaps a bit of information on the house's history on the table would be good. Had to look up on Google. Will recommend to family and friends.
Great and attentive service in a lovely setting The restaurant was pretty much empty, so not much of a buzz.
We had the offer of 2 for 1 champagne afternoon tea which was great value for money. Enjoyed the food. Location was lovely and staff were friendly and helpful. The room we were in had a lovely relaxed atmosphere by the fire. Would definitely go again if a 2 for 1 offer was available.
Extremely disappointing. I had to complain about the sandwiches, they were wet and soggy with one even containing mould. The tea itself was good as were the scones. Cakes were disappointing and of poor quality. The sandwiches left both my partner and I unwell on the evening following our visit. We were considering it as a potential wedding venue, alas we will be looking else where. Our visit got off to a bad start with the state of the car park and huge craters filled with water, not the place to be driving a nice sports car in the inclement weather. We will not be returning
Staff attentive. Lovely setting. Lovely afternoon tea.
We had a lovely afternoon tea in the Culpepper restaurant which is beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were very attentive. Every thing was relaxed and we felt very well looked after. Kind Regards Lyn Watkins
Very nice afternoon tea, with excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely dining experience, good food and service in beautiful surroundings.
Service excellent on arrival ,but went down hill as the afternoon progressed . We asked for some butter when it arrived only three small pieces delivered ,but we had a table of four people in our party. Our friends who had been before said the standard and number of cakes where poor.
