Lovely food. Great staff. Not much else to add. Want to go back again especially to try the Sunday whole chicken
Fuckin love you guys. I wasn’t aware that chicken came in Banquet form.
Perfection - thank you. Maybe get branded wet-wipes?
hello, this was the second time visiting since the relaunch in July and the food has gone downhill massively. Chicken tasted re-heated, dry and pretty tasteless and my two favourite salads - aubergine & watermelon - like they were picked up from Tesco up the road. I am so disappointed such an awesome place and one of my favourite in London has changed, feels like a friend let me down :(
The food and cocktails were very tasty, and the music banging. But the service was abysmal. After 15 minutes of being ignored (even to the point the waiters looked right at us then away, and ignored us saying Hi as they walked passed) we were ready to leave. But for better or worse we stuck it out. When a waiter deigned to speak they were friendly and helpful, but it seemed like they were playing a game of 'How much can we get away with before the customers leave'. The food is good but not good enough to get away with that level of rudeness and ineptitude.
Food and drink was great, absolutely no complaints but the service was poor. The place was relatively busy & their seemed sufficient staff, however it took ages to get the attention of someone to order in what is a pretty small restaurant. Perhaps the manager should have a better service strategy in place.
Loved the staff service food music ambiance all perfect!
Great place with unique flavours - particularly the hot wings and chicken toast which were out of this world. The Seoul Destroyer Burger finished me off and I have a big appetite... The service was excellent- friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Even though it’s a very cool and trendy venue as a family with small children we were welcomed warmly and had a wonderful time. Price range was very reasonable as well. Highly recommended
I’d booked at table at 7pm and was told I’d booked for 7.30pm which wasn’t true as I had confirmation online as well as someone calling me to confirm. I was totally fine to wait for a table because I love the place - but don’t really want someone to lie to me when I have confirmation of a booking. Much better to say sorry we let someone in and theyre taking ages, there’s a 30mins wait. I’d have no problem to wait and have a drink but no need for the lies Chick n sours is awesome, no lies needed! PS new set menu is EPIC
The 18pp Special Set Menu is amazing but actually too much food! But hey, I would rather too much than not enough, I just feel bad about wasting food!
As we booked ahead of time would have liked to have been on our own table for 2. I understand capacity does not allow it but I think you should have that as a separate booking option. Felt like we were spreading into the next tables dining experience.
The food still tastes nice but changing the side dishes to tiny little bowls is a really negative step, particularly the watermelon which you also are now cutting into much smaller cubes. I doubt I will return.
We had the set menu for 2 - the side dishes for me were the standout items (aubergine, watermelon salad, pickled cucumbers, green slaw) - packed full of Asian flavours, well balanced with fish sauce and herbs used amazingly well. The nachos I was personally a bit underwhelmed by and as per a previous visit to the soho branch they came slightly lukewarm. The wings, tenders and fries were fine but for me not comparable to the earlier side dishes. A general issue is that there is far too much food for two and the amount could be cut back a bit to properly enjoy the range and avoid waste. A suggestion would also be that the food come out gradually and paired more (e.g., the tenders with some of the more flavoursome sides) given the intensity of flavours so the diner isn't overwhelmed or the great use of ingredients can be fully appreciated.
We were not greeted at the door but had to awkwardly make our way to the back of the empty restaurant where six staff stood behind the bar. We were told our reservation was unknown and treated in an unfriendly manner whilst they tried to seat us. They then gave us an earlier curfew on the table than expected at booking. Once settled the food was excellent and staff later apologised and confirmed our booking now showed but earlier the tablet was ‘having issues’
My favourite chicken burger place in london
Danielle was amazing at sorting out my birthday reservation and Molly was a really fun bartender - both made my birthday evening super special! The food and drinks were delicious and the downstairs area is great for a big group - they even took requests for the music ;)
Great food and good vibe.
Great service and food. Good value.
Great food, naked wings were great. Starters were also excellent. However the meal for a family of four was quite pricey.
Please go back to your old ‘the general’ burger recipe
Amazing food that I’m still dreaming about! The only down side is that it’s near impossible to hear a conversation. (#oldpeoplesproblems). But the chicken definitely makes up for it! Thanks!
Danielle was great help, she made it very easy for us! Thank you Danielle.
Best chicken (maybe food) I have ever had the pleasure of wrapping my lips around!!
