About Chick'N'Sours - Islington
Chick ‘n’ Sours is a great restaurant masquerading as a chicken shop!
A whimsical menu of herb fed fried chicken, serious seasonal sides, sour cocktails & local beers.
Couple this with great tunes, loads of fun and you can see how we’ve taken it to the #nextlevel
Great experience. Loved the food. Will be back.
One of the best places in London for fried chicken. Plus great service and delicious drinks.
Really tasty food
Chicken in K-pop sandwich was dry, and too crunchy and covered in a mountain of salad)carrot, and too spicy, I had it before and it wasn't like what I received last night, the general sandwich felt undercooked as it was slimey inside the meat. The started was ok (Popcorn chicken) but again too crunchy. the ship cup chips were nice. The music (hip hop/rnb) was blaring and we had to talk at an unnormal levels to hear eachother.
The sizes of the starters got bigger and the staff was so much nicer than before. Highly recommend.
Absolutely delicious food and a great place full stop! I can't wait for my next visit.
Food was excellent as always. the side dishes are just delicious. I did have some issues with the music volume. I'd been two times recently (not on a weekend in the evening to be fair) and the music was nice background sound. On Saturday evening it was very loud and it was hard to hear what my dinner companions were saying. We did mention it to the waitress who kindly turned down the music a bit (we were also sitting under the speaker) but she said that it was a DJ inspired restaurant which meant the music had to be rather loud. I'm not entirely sure what that means but I feel like it's nice to be able to hear each other talking without having to shout. Anyway, food was great.
PLEASE can you put some salads or something lighter on the menu. I had a DELICIOUS noodle salad in your soho branch and was disappointed not to find anything like it on this menu. I know your whole thing is fried chicken but I think you need to include one or 2 healthier things on the menu. My kids loved it but then there was nothing for me to eat so it would put me (and a lot of people I know) from going back. Cocktails were delicious and chips too.
Had a lovely dinner and the service was wonderful, great bunch of staff. Definitely will be back - still thinking about that cucumber starter... delicious!
Amazing food & service. Chicken toast is out of this world!
Absolutely loved it! Relaxed atmosphere, superb food, incredible value.
The chicken was not as good quality as in the haggerston branch.
I love chick'n'sours. I have been countless times and each time taken a different group of friends to open up their eyes to such delicious chicken. I was excited when I found out that there were now vegan options and I took my friend along with me so he could experience what we've been having all this time! However his quorn patty was laughably bad. It was something I might buy in a supermarket, when I was expecting the batter and taste that is used on the chicken. That was disappointing.
The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was spot on. Will definitely be coming back!
Food and drink was great, staff friendly. Music maybe a bit too loud but not really an issue! Will be back!
Love Chick’n’Sours! Best chicken, people and venues in town. The rest are irrelevant!
Booked a table for early on a Friday evening. It became apparent quite quickly that they wanted to turn the table around. We had barely taken our coats off and sat down before being asked for our drinks order. We were asked 4 times in less than 10 minutes before finally choosing a cocktail whilst the waiter stood at the table. When the cocktails arrived they were half full and packed full of ice - not good value considering the £7 price tag. Our table was directly under the air conditioning and very close to the door. I asked if it was possible to turn the air conditioning down a bit. The waiter said she’d asked the manager, came back and said that he’d said No and smiled. There was no offer to seat us somewhere else (and looking around there were other tables) so my friend suggested we swap seats and he got the air conditioning and I got the door. It’s mid-December. Whilst we were eating our food waiting staff were clearing away plates when not all of us had finished eating. The brioche burger buns weren’t steamed on the grill so they were dry. We asked if there were desserts and the manager said No and then just stood waiting at the table so we felt obliged to ask for the bill. The bill arrived within minutes and the manager came back straight away with the card machine before we’d even got our bags/wallets out. We were splitting the bill 3 ways and he just took each card and tapped them on the card machine. He noticed my surprise and asked what was wrong and I told him that I prefer to be able to see the amount before having my card tapped and he took one of the receipts out of his hand and showed me the amount before walking off. Felt uncomfortable and awkward and that they wanted the table back. I would have preferred to have been told they needed the table back by a certain time so we could decide if we wanted to stay, there’s plenty of restaurants to choose from on Upper Street, rather than rushed through. Food was nothing to shout about. Won’t be recommending.
We had such a great lunch for our Christmas Party! Thank you so much for the delicious food and excellent service. The SRA team
Staff were friendly and polite, and food was great. One minor point was it was not immediately clear to us we had to go to the front desk to pay. We sat there for quite a while waiting for the bill.
We felt rushed to leave, soon after we had eaten. Also my cousin said she can’t have nuts or sesame yet her water Melon was covered in it anyway. She didn’t want to make. Big deal out of it so just didn’t eat it. Food was nice but I feel like last time I enjoyed it more(different menu choice).
My first visit to Chick n Sours, and I'll probably go again. The food was really good, and the service was excellent, our servers were superb. The only aspect is that for a lunch time visit, and only including one drink each, it was relatively steep, coming in at over £70 for three people. I can't remember if you guys do a lunch deal but it'd be well worth investigating, and would make me want to come more often.
