Excellent value, staff were lovely and friendly highly recommended x
Lovely afternoon tea ovelooking the lake, staff are a credit to the establishment
We had a great experience, the food was great quality and the service was excellent It's a great atmosphere and sitting outside in the sun with a drink was so nice and tranquil Hidden gem
Do you never act on emails ? I've sent 3 canceling my booking , asking for a rearranged date in October. You have taken no notice whatso ever.Next item , phone calls, a nightmare, 3 calls to dinner reservations, each time auto voice tells me to leave my number & they'll get back too me.To date I am still waiting, and this is over 3 weeks. I am disgusted with the treatment i have received, and to add insult to injury, your asking me to rate a meal that was never taken!!! More annoying still is the fact that the so called meal was paid for in advance through Groupon.
The atmosphere and value for money I got was excellent. As stated the food was good for what I paid but must say I was very unlucky with the waitress I got! She looked disinterested and forgot much of what we ordered. A shame because the other waitresses looked excellent.
I have been back several times to the Chevin hotel with a variety of people who didn't know about your hotel. I brought 10 people in February this year to help celebrate my retirement and they are ll keen to return again. Lovely food, great atmosphere. Efficient staff. Long may it continue
Been many times.spot on everytime see you again soon.
The restaurant was too bright and the waiting staff were too eager to remove plates. Also they didnt communicate with each other as we were asked 3 times if everything was ok with our meals!! The food was lovely but needed it neededmorw garnish as it was very basic.
Staff were excellent. Very attentive and helpful. Service was prompt and the food tasted great. We had 3 courses and loved them all!
I think for the money it cost us to stay would have come with a cooked breakfast not just a cold and very little chose . Also the evening meal was over priced and not much choice. The room we had was very dark and in need of updating plus we could not open the window with the curtains closed.
Stayed one night for my 30th Birthday. Paid £240 for 1 night stay, unlimited use of leisure facilities, 3 course meal and breakfast which seemed a really reasonable deal. However, when we got there at 2.45 pm (15 mins before check in time) we were told we needed to book to use the leisure facilities but they were already fully booked for the day and we could only go at 7am Sunday morning. I understand new rules due to Covid but I booked the room over a month ago, so if I was told we needed to book at the time of booking I would have booked in advance. The spa was one of the main things we were coming for so was extremely disappointed not be able to go on the Saturday afternoon as I had hoped. Also, we had breakfast included so assumed it was a full English as this is what was was advertised when booking but when we arrived for breakfast we were told it was continental only. Again I feel this should have been mentioned at booking as we were left disappointed. The rooms were dated and definitely in need of some TLC. The evening meal was really nice and staff were friendly but I definitely feel we paid a lot of money for what we actually got and could have probably got a lot more for our money elsewhere. We didn’t get what was advertised and what we expected which was a shame.
On the day we had fun, felt secure and the service was very good and a lovely location. However, everything leading up to it was really very awful. It started back in March when I wanted to get a refund for my Mother Day afternoon tea (due to the lock down) and was shouted at that that was not an option . Moving forward to late August and accepting that due to covid again these are challenging times, but having left 5 phone message and 5 emails I only got one reply and when I did get an email reply it then took a further 4 days for the next reply. So over all booking and communications with this hotel is worse then awful.
Really disappointing afternoon tea! No teaspoons - no extra hot water for tea - very poor cakes and the scones tasted like Fulton's! Dry and cold! Oh if only the cakes had been homemade and fresh! And coffee bought in a cafetier! Service was ok - sandwiches ok but price was expensive for what it was! Some sort of welcoming table decoration/flowers would have been better than a cold empty table. Not impressed - sorry.
Not much in the way of food but what we had was nice, Lovely surroundings
I was disappointed with the afternoon tea as the sandwiches where nice and you could choose what you wanted. Come to the cakes it was chocolate brownie some other chocolate and orange slice and a small bit of lemon drizzle cake with the scone, I don’t like chocolate so I didn’t have much cake at all. That was the only downside. They have changed it since I last went as I’ve been plenty of times.
Mattress was a little too soft for our liking. The breakfast was disappointing, with a cold breakfast I would have expected it to be continental but it was very basic with croissants, fruit and cereal and I think this could be improved as breakfast at a hotel is a big part of the nights stay. Thanks.
Myself and my friend had a lovely afternoon tea at Chevin Country Park restaurant. The food was lovely and the restaurant staff were very accommodating of our requests for the sandwich fillings. A beautiful location and the restaurant was very quiet, which was nice.
Bought by friends as a gift for my birthday Had a very pleasant afternoon tea. Food delicious, staff very polite. We were the only people in the dinning room so felt safe there. Lovely view too.
Really enjoyed our experience
Cheap bread, hardly any filling in the sandwiches the cakes did not taste home made and the scone was horrible. The staff however were a joy
The sandwiches were a little dry and the scones were shop bought which I thought was a little disappointing for an afternoon tea. I have had afternoon tea at many places before and in comparison the portion sizes were very small. Had I not got a Groupon deal I would have been very disappointed. The view and ambience however were excellent!
Absolutely fantastic stay!!! 3 course evening meal was beautiful. Only thing I would say is room looked a bit tired, in need of update and was gutted to find no full English breakfast? was so looking forward to it after our last stay, but there was plenty choice on the continental, will definitely be booking again soon, gr8 deal and value for money. Thankyou
Booked via the website for food. When we arrived we were advised that they were not doing the lunch menu and would only be able to do afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was fine and decent enough value for what we payed for it with the offer but having had afternoon tea here several times before as part of spa packages I was disappointed that it was not of the same quality that I have experienced in the past.
We were disappointed to find on arrival that breakfast the next morning would be continental. Although we knew already we didn’t have spa access due to COVID-19, when you have a full English breakfast taken away as well it doesn’t become value for money. There was a £12.50 supplement on the evening meal as well for the steak. We can’t complain about the quality of the evening meal, what we had was delicious, just not much choice on the menu
