About Chai Thali - Camden
We bring you the very best of India’s street food. Rooted in tradition, bursting with aromatic spices and brought to you with a contemporary twist, Chai Thali is a nation of street food all in one place.
Blending the old with the new, Chai Thali is all about India’s traditional and modern street food cultures. Our authentic kerb-side snacks and sharing plates are delicious paired with a craft beer or one of our spice-infused signature cocktails.
Staff were very welcoming. Nice place to spend time with family. Food was overpriced and small portions. Overall, Taste was good. Thank you.
The food was nice but over priced. I think management need to review the prices and also think about increasing the portions. Also I found that the restaurant was located in an awkward place and was a bit hard to find.
Keep that up
Food was great but would be great to have more options for the non alcoholic mocktail selections.
Thanks Jannat for serving us for lunch yesterday afternoon. The food was amazing! We will be back.
Service and atmosphere perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the kebab - yummy. Starter lamb mince with kulcha tasted same as main lamb/mince. If we'd been advised ofthis would have ordered something different. Naan for £2 pricey - also other accompaniments like rice. Didn't enjoy my non-alcoholic cocktail. But delicious food - will def visit again.
Great food, was a little quiet when we went. Makes me think a lot of people are missing out. Portion sizes were a little confusing
Fantastic food and very attentive service. The mini thali was huge and such great value for money - ideal for a lunchtime meal.
quantity of food is less as compared to price charged!! Food is mostly sweet and not spicy. Taste of the food is decent but not as great as compared to other renowned Indian restaurants in London.
Worst dine experience
We were there on the Bollywood night the place had a nice atmosphere and is done up well The the food came quick and there was enough of it our waiter was wonderful vey polite and could not do enough then the dancing started that was good the DJ knew how to get the crowd going he played good music would recommend for a good night out look forward to the next event
Our group chose some dishes *not* marked as spicy, but then it turned out they were very hot! This resulted in a painful dining experience and some of us had to leave our food uneaten. Can get expensive depending on the dishes you choose. For example, a single naan bread costs £3.5... Other than that, the other dishes were very good. If you like hot food, head here. Otherwise be careful!
Great flavoured food , we had 3 dishes and they all tasted good and all had their own flavour characteristics which is often not the case in many curry restaurants
Amazing place to eat ... Great service and awesome ambience...
Food was good and service also. However, the restaurant goofed up on health & safety - they had left Christmas lighting wires all over the place and that created an accident and my spouse slipped on top of the wires and hurt herself badly. The Manager never turned up to say Sorry or Apologize - even worse was the fact - when we cam to know that the Manager was responsible for the wireless being on the floor without any warning signs.
Second time I’ve been here & really liked it both times! Its great that everything is genuinely indian :) (in terms of the biscuits, thums up & yummy chai) and the restaurant decor and service was great!
First visit will definitely come back.
Everything was brilliant just need to practice on your cocktails.
We enjoyed are evening at the camden branch the staff were very good and accomodating, the food was good, however the portion size were dissapointing and too small for any grown man to be satisfied and the lamb chops espeically measly 3 pieces of chops.when i enquired why they decided to serve such skinny pieces of meat the waiting staff had no answers although to their credit they did attempt to make things better by enquiring to the kitchen staff but were dismissed, if you have to charge more for proper chops then do it. I would like to visit again but it left a dissapointing feeling.
Great food and lovely friendly staff. Would defo go again.
I visited Chai Thali on Diwali, the ambiance was festive and service was impeccable.
Food was below par for the cost. Uninspiring.
I came here with my cousin. The food is amazing. It is nice to see some unusual different dishes as well as the traditional ones. The service was excellent. We will be going back for sure!
Came Friday night for my dad’s birthday and the food was lovely as well as the service! Defo would come back.
We had to send back the chicken wings as they were raw. Two of my friends who had the lamb had really upset stomach. My spinach paneer was alright although the completely puréed spinach was odd in texture. Restaurant decor lovely, staff were friendly.
