About Central Oven & Shaker
A one-stop-shop of wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, cocktails, weekend DJs, craft beer, salads and punch. Whether you're waiting for a train and fancy an afternoon coffee with a dip 'n' dough board, or some late-night slices and a boogie with the gang.
Great service from start to finish, our waitress was really helpful and attentive! The atmosphere was perfect and we got our food so quick but the quality was lovely! Fries were a tad over priced for what they were also nearly £4 for a pint of coke! The pizza was amazing though! Would definitely recommend!
The cocktails are really tasty. I would definitely reccomend as there is always 2 for 1!
Very attentive staff, even had a manager come over and discuss recommendations for cocktails which was really lovely and helpful! Great atmosphere and amazing pizzas!
Great atmosphere and good food
After stating to our waitress that the gnocchi was far too oily to be told ‘yeah sorry the chef says it’s not supposed to be that oily so my apologies’ & that was all that was said & the bill was brought over. Frose drinks are literally just full of ice can only drink half of the glass no wonder it’s 2 for 1 you only get 1 full drink. Carbonara was nice but didn’t really taste any different to one I’ve bought from Sainsbury’s. Melted cheese starter was the only positive. Over all disappointed as have been for pizza with no complaints but we won’t be returning for pasta night.
Music was slightly overpowering for a meal, felt like we were shouting when having a conversation. Service and food were both excellent.
Great place, food and cocktails!
Couldn’t fault meal or service. Thank you.
Fab service and great food!! Cocktails are always lush!
Amazing food and atmosphere
We were a large group of 20, entertaining colleagues from various offices. You looked after us very well, from the organised drinks in the private area, to coping with service on the meal very smoothly. The drinks and the food were perfect, we all had fun, so thank you for looking after us so well!! Claire
Staff efficient and friendly. Amazing cocktails. Easy to book online. Definitely will be back.
Great choice and quality of pizza toppings on tasty thin bases. 2-4-1 drinks offers fab.
First time to Central Oven last Thursday and really impressed with the place. Good atmosphere, great service and due to the 2-4-1 deals very decent value. We will be back !!!
We found the music was so loud for early evening and couldn’t hear each other. There were a lot of empty glasses on tables with sticky spillages. Our food was however delicious and the serving staff were really friendly and courteous.
Great staff fabulous atmosphere and the best pizza in Newcastle
Little bit disappointed that the restaurant was almost empty and they sat us right next to another table. Still loved the food and atmosphere. Personally a few more pizza topping options would be good.
Great value deal on Thursday , friendly staff
Great atmosphere, tasty food which is reasonably priced, feel that service can be slow to order initial and further drinks. Always seem to have to get someone’s attention to make an order
Excellent food and cocktails. I wasnt happy with table initially right next to service area of kitchen but I asked to be moved and it was no problem. Really good food, thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Love this place, cocktails are fab and love the price.
Waiting for the starter 1 hour 30 mins, for the main - way more than 3 hours. Garlic bread tasted nothing like garlic bread- more like raw bread and loads of cheese. Pizzas we had were terrible, honestly. Never had such a bad pizza. Dough was raw but at the same time super dry. Chicken was so dry as well. Sauce tasted like nothing. We understand that it’s cheaper on Thursdays, however for 2 people we spent 25£ still, and it was such a waste of time to sit there 3 hours and get the most rubbish food we ever had. Would rather pay normal price somewhere else and get a decent product.
We took advantage of the ‘Two Pizzas for £10’ (Thursday) and found it to be great value for money. The place was packed at 18:30 and the acoustics made conversation a little difficult. However, that’s just a minor gripe and no reflection on the staff, service or overall quality. Wine was very nice and average price for bar/restaurants. Would go again.
