About Cecchinis Ardrossan
Situated in a converted old Power House on Ardrossan Harbour, Cecchini's Ardrossan has spectacular views that stretch past the Marina onwards towards Arran and is just a few minutes from the ferry terminal. Be it a romantic evening in our restaurant, a catch up over drinks in the Bistro or coffee outside watching the sun go down there is no finer place to enjoy an occasion.
Couldn't fault the entire time. Good service, great food enjoyed by all 5 of us. Would have stayed longer to enjoy the singer but with children had to leave after desserts n some drinks.
Cannot complain about meal or staff ,young boy who mostly dealt with us was outstanding keeping us informed about when we would be served our meal Complaint is ,, if theres a party booked in for a meal, then more staff should be on duty , and customers who are in for a meal should not be waiting approximately 20 mins for each course to be served ,, and when asking for a bill , should not be waiting till gentlemen decides theres to lovely young ladies at the bar , I'll serve them first ,, As I said meal was lovely and the young boy who was serving was outstanding
We reserved a table of 19 for my birthday. Positives:- Lovely location Food was pleasant (most of the dishes were relatively good, although one meal was the wrong type of pizza and another of the dishes was luke warm, at best) Staff good but not exceptional Cocktails well prepared Live music was very good Negatives:- Communication was ok but didn’t reply to one of my e-nails. I provided a pre-order to help with organisation, and also did name and food order place tags, these just seemed to get ignored and staff shouted out each dish as they were bringing it out. We stipulated that we would pay for all food and a welcome drink upon arrival for each person. Martin agreed that no drink orders would be taken at the table, however staff continued taking drink orders at the table and adding them to our bill. We popped in on Thursday when we arrived in Scotland to see where the table would be and was a little annoyed at being told that we may not have the area that we first agreed, due to a funeral being held. After speaking to Martin & Tara we managed to sort this out. All in all we had a good night and everyone enjoyed themselves, but just a little more organisation amongst management and staff would have made all the difference. I must say that I am hyper critical when it comes to things so don’t take this the wrong way. I would recommend and visit again.
The food was really nice however the service was extremely slow and I had to ask twice for our dessert menus and for the order to be taken at which point the table was cleared of our remaining dinner plates! One of the drinks had a large hair in it so was glad my little girl had spilled most of it but we were not offered a replacement and still charged for the Lemonade and lime with the black and grey hair in it which no-one at our table has black hair! I also ordered milk for the kids but never materialised and as it was getting late went home to get the kids a drink as this was the quicker option! Shame the service let the food down.
Pleasantly surprised at the improvement of menu choice and quality of food. Unfortunately even after numerous requests indicating the importance of vegetarian gluten-free menu options this was a very poor experience. Staff made themselves aware of the request - identified the customer in our party who needed vegetarian gluten-free - produced a menu specifically for gluten free customers- then it ended badly. A dessert described as gluten-free - i.e. chocolate brownie sundae was chosen by one of our party. This was served at the table and server was asked to confirm it was gluten-free- the reply was "yes". This was the only dessert of this kind ordered from our table. There was a wafer roll in the dessert and had been confirmed that the dessert was gluten free. This was partially eaten when waiter returned to inform the customer that the wafer was not gluten-free as previously stated by the server. This has caused extreme discomfort and symptoms for a coeliac customer. The supervisor had the amount of food applied to her deducted from the total bill from our table in excess of £160. This is not acceptable in present day food service regulations and a poor attempt from a local restaurant to comply with dietary requirements. It took around 40mins to resolve the situation, however, the final bill included a charge for the "complimentary" glass of wine which had to be adjusted before payment.
Excellent food and fab service.
Lovely meal, service good.
Fantastic device We were looked after tremendously well by Tara and her team The food surpasses our expectations
Although we reserved they couldn’t find our reservation and we didn’t get the table we requested. We were given a different bottle of wine from what we ordered.
Excellent stop-off for lunch when we're picking our daughter up from the Ferry coming in from Brodick.
The table we had was very cold as it was under the air conditioning. It was also very noisy from people sitting at the bar
Great meal and tailored service was amazing Thank you
As always Cecchinis Ardrossan has friendly staff, excellent food and atmosphere!
Wonderful attentive staff made our experience extra special
We’ve had better pizzas from supermarkets. Bread with the olives was dry, sliced bread. Would expect something a little more interesting. Very disappointing visit, won’t be returning.
I originally booked on a Thursday evening and requested our seats be in the bar area as that's where the quiz is normally held. Upon arriving I was told the Friends quiz was upstairs and fully booked. I did not see any advertisment telling customers you had to specify a table upstairs for the quiz. I've never known the quiz to be upstairs. So me and my friends missed out on the quiz, mainly due to poor advertising on Cecchinis part I believe. Then we waited a long while for a drink as the bar downstairs was clearly being used to make cocktails for people upstairs. This resulted in quite a few people waiting at the bar for a drink for a long time. I'm aware this isn't the bar staffs fault but if you're having a Friend's quiz, you're going to have a load of women drinking cocktails and this wasn't planned for at all from what I could see. I'm a regular customer in Cecchinis and do enjoy it for food and drinks and it does have a good atmosphere but on Thursday evening it was a bit of a shambles. I actually felt sorry for the bar staff. Poor management in my opinion.
I was there for the Friends Quiz. Firstly, we were put upstairs, it was roasting, the air con was off. I asked if I could be put on . The girl said yes I’ve just put it on. We all came along for the quiz and were then told it was £2 per person, not a lot of money but I have never had to pay for a pub quiz in my life. Let alone, it wasn’t advertised as a paid for quiz. This just leaves a poor taste in the mouth as it’s just sneaky. Anyway, we stayed and it must have been about 45 degrees on the balcony bit. When you walked upstairs it was actually smelly because of the heat from everyone’s bodies. I asked if the air con was on and I was assured it was. Another member of staff told me that upstairs was broken so the first woman had lied. Drinks were watery and not made well. Staff were miserable as always. It was all just a bit rubbish. Poor show for what could have been a good night.
The meals was really great the whole place was great and we will definitely be booking to come back again soon, and the staff was so friendly and looked after us well.
Very good as always.
Was too busy! Food was as good as! Had noisy rude irritating underdressed loud mouths right next to us when we were trying to have a romantic birthday meal. Asked for a quiet corner, got a quiet corner until those two guys arrived.... food was lovely and so was the wine. Prices were better than expected.
Due to the time of our meal it was so busy and very noisy. Food was excellent as normal. Staff very attentive even though they were very busy. Overall a lovely meal
Was booked for my sons 18th birthday dinner and everything was great. Would visit again.
Lovely service. Value for money. Food lovely
The four stars for atmosphere is only because the mezzanine floor gets unbearably hot at times.
