About Cathay Rendezvous
Established in 1986 by Wong's family, Cathay Rendezvous is the longest established Chinese Restaurant in Bristol. A Bristol institution which has been copied and imitated by others but there is only one Cathay Rendezvous.
Within the elegant façade, the restaurant offers spacious and flexible air-conditioned rooms on two levels. Licensed for 150 people, we can cater for parties and events of all sizes.
Thoroughly enjoyed talking to the musician waiter. Get him to email me (composer to composer) ☺️
This is our second time at this restaurant and the food was just as good as the first time. The staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. Thank you for a relaxing lunch.
We'd never been here before and were very pleasantly surprised by the tasteful decor and excellent food - it's not your average Chinese - definitely a cut above!
Booked for 8 turned up with 9,no problem.Service and food first class appreciated by all.The option of a bottle of English beer on the drinks menu would have been appreciated, but overall an excellent experience.
Great food and drink at great prices!
Excellent food, attentive service and very pleasant all round
Very nice food. Would come again!
Food delicious and good variety. Will definitely recommend.
Great authentic tasting food. Lovely attentive staff. It was a little chilly in the restaurant and when we went to the bathroom but that’s no big deal.
The Sunday lunch was excellent. Very good selection of dishes and very good value for money.
Great food, very reasonably priced, very attentive staff.
Delicious food and attentive service.
We had a fabulous meal at Cathay Rendezvous, everything was tasty and delicious, I would definitely recommend.
Incredible food, welcomed a group of 8 of us with a fab round table so super social, helpful staff, I look forward to our next visit. Thanks so much.
Excellent service. Staff are friendly and professional. Great food, I just wished portions had been a bit larger.
Great service and loved the dancing dragon!
Overall a good evening enhanced by the Dragon dance. However food quality & service wasnt as good as previously experienced due to Chinese New Year celebrations taking place.
Everything about my experience at Cathay Rendezvous was fantastic. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful and we loved the decor and ambience of the restaurant. We were lucky to visit on a Sunday so were able to have the Sunday buffet, which is fantastic value but the food is also wonderful quality. Would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed our evening at Cathay Rendezvous! Service was quick and attentive and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
As always, the food was so delicious. The mock duck is addictive! Good sized portions and an impressive array of veggie dishes. This is my favourite place for Chinese in the city. The staff and so polite and courteous. It’s always a pleasure to dine here.
friendly service - great food
Excellent food and service. We will return (again)!
Another lovely meal with excellent service. We were on our way to the theatre but the meal was not rushed. This restaurant is a true little gem.
- Drinks took ages to arrive (had to ask in the end) and we weren’t asked if we wanted a top up, so we didn’t. Do you get much by way of wet sales? - Windows covered by blinds so was dark at midday Staff were not attentive. They delivered food and disappeared. No one asked how the meal was - Rice was delivered 5 minutes ahead of any associated meals, so it wasn’t that hot - I filled in the booking reservation stating this was a birthday meal but there was no recognition of this, so why ask - Food was ok to good though ice cream was grainy and had to be replaced - Sunday lunch is billed as a buffet. It isn’t. You order from a menu and it is then brought to you - Good squid, starters and Singapore noodles but Disappointing overall
A starter did not get brought to the table, we had to ask after some time waiting. A moan course and side also got forgotten, again we had to ask. Then at the end of the meal the waiter asked if we would like to see a dessert menu (which all of the party did) and it never got brought to us. Poor service and dull atmosphere. Would not recommend.
