The food was amazing, the view was stunning and the service was exceptional. Thank you also for accommodating my special request of where I’d like to sit. It was much appreciated.
Lovely location! Nice friendly staff! Interesting menu and good food! Great service and all round experience!
A most enjoyable eating experience
Food was really good quality and prepared really well although there wasnt quite enough for me. Service was excellent and the staff were very well mannered and presented.
We had the most delicious meal, served quickly and efficiently. The waitrons were attentive and friendly. We will be back!
Delicious food Caught out by price of specials as had no indication of them But food lovely none the less
The service was fab, and we felt incredibly relaxed and looked after. We are 8 mums who needed a chilled night out, the atmosphere suited - it wasn’t too load! Food was plentiful and tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly, professional with a sense of humour! Thank you again,
Excelllent service from wonderful staff, they deserve far more stars. The food however was fairly dry - particularly the scones from the afternoon tea. However, a lovely time was had and the atmosphere was beautiful.
Great food in a beautiful location; thank you for making my mother's birthday special.
Just a little niggle, when we paid the £96 bill, we placed £100 on the table, which was collected, but at no point did anyone attempt to return with the change. This was to be left as a tip anyway, so wasn’t a problem as such, but it would have been courteous for you not to assume. Many thanks
We had a good dinner after a day's walking around the area. We then stayed the night in the castle tower! Fantastic way to get away from it all for a mini break. The staff were really friendly. And I now know what a "hanging kebab" is!!
A good choice especially as I’m vegetarian. Very friendly staff and food arrived quickly. Food priced similar to other places in the area but wine was more expensive. Lovely and warm and cosy on a winters evening.
Good food as always. A little disappointed in the seating - we understand you can't get always the tables with view as it'll be popular but we were told you need to book a while in advance to get that and it made us feel like booking 'only' 6 days in advance was frowned upon. Plus we've been in the last few months at peak hour for Sunday lunch, booking 2 hours in advance, and got a panoramic view table... Instead this time we got to sit in the quite dark library part, would been nice to sit in one of the dining rooms at least. Overall food was good though, making it a lovely experience thanks to the great company we had!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Everything was spot on (except the most delicious baked apple dessert needing more cooking....not that it stopped is demolishing the lot!) I’ve already left a trip advisor review, which proves how impressed we all were! Thank you, & we’ll definitely see you again!
A 5* rating on all aspects for a 5* experience. I was recommended by a friend to come here and it didn’t disappoint. We had a table by the window overlooking stunning views. A great find!
it was great. Special mention for our waitress. She was special! :)
Had the roast this time, was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful
Please see my very positive feedback on Trip Advisor.
A very enjoyable evening. Excellent food in lovely surroundings. Friendly staff and food good value. Visiting from Scotland, but hope to be back again next time we visit the area.
Great food and fantastic atmosphere.
Superb find. Great food in a unique location. Will definitely be back.
Always a pleasant experience. Friendly, efficient but unobtrusive staff. The food was beautifully prepared, presented and very tasty. We mostly ate fish, the starters - the Sharing board was super, the King Prawns likewise. Mains we all had Haddock excellent. The wine was good also - we will be back.
We have been coming here for a while mainly for the views and nearby short walks. The beer selection is great and the food is very tasty. The only problem and it's very minor was the noise in the side room, I appreciate that some noise creates the atmosphere. There were times when I was struggling to hear the conversation responses. Maybe some more soft furnishings to take the edge off? Otherwise very happy with the service and lunch.
Friday night meal with friends. Warm welcoming, fires on lovely & warm. We were recommended the sizzling king prawns to begin & this were delicious. 3 guests went for the fillet steak, the meat & the way it was cooked were “the best I’ve ever had” by all 3. I tried the fish hanging kebab a delightful dish. The castle & all the wonderful staff was a delight & throughly enjoyed by all. Thank you.
Great team, super food and unique environment. I have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.
