Great atmosphere and enjoyable night however food arrived very late and we didn’t have time to get dessert we didn’t get full value for money. Complaint email sent however no reply.
I would never return to this venue, the advertising is very misleading. Quality food, I can assure you the food is by no means quality. Arrived at 7pm waited over 1 hour on drinks then another 2.5 hours on the pizzas. When I asked numerous staff about the pizzas I was told there was a large backlog in the kitchen. The place was so disorganised, Complete waste of time and money.
Unfortunately this wasn't the best experience I have had at cargo. My wife and I have been three times previously and had good experiences. I completely understand that the northern ireland weather can be unpredictable and Cargo did as much as the could to even be open as restrictions lifted, even releasing extra seats. Unfortunately he area we were seated in, Craneview Courtyard seat 445, was completely exposed to the cold weather with wind blowing constantly through our booth. When being seated we asked would it be possible to be moved near a heater, but because cargo was fully booked that wasn't an option which we completely understand. We then asked could a heater be moved closer to us but the girl we asked never came back with an answer. After about an hour we noticed a few other groups having heaters moved closer to them so we asked again only to be told that "It was against the policy to move heaters" and there was nothing they could do???? This clearly wasn't the case or we wouldn't have asked. In the end we gave up and left an hour before or 3 hour booking had finished. The food was good but it just wasn't a comfortable experience. Maybe if we had been on of the main marquees our experience would've been better. Not sure if we will be back anytime soon unless we know where we will be sitting in advance.
This was my 1st and last time here. Booked this for a family birthday thinking 1st time out in a while. Food took over 2 hours for dry bread and pizza didn't have time for desert because our booking was till 5 and only finished pizza 5 minutes before. Booked 5 bottles of beer on the app 1 hour later still no beer asked the servers numerous times to be told its on the way eventually went to the bar dpike to who I think was the manager to be told di yoyvsee how many people here they are all waiting on drink and food. This seemed like an inconvenience to him and stormed into the bar brought a bucket of beer and handed it to me. Ruined what I was hoping would be a nice day out with my family
Ou booking was for 7pm we kept trying to download the app for food and drinks and it kept saying error. We waited at least 40 mins on our first drink and also on all other drinks. We then received our pizza at 10.40PM after asking numerous time what was the hold up and they were completely burnt not one of them was touched. We received our desserts at closing time. Absolute disgrace for £75. I have messaged 3 times and have had no response. Not professional at all.
Service really slow, took 45mins for drinks to arrive, food was lovely but again very slow, seating area really cold & no heater provided even after asked. Firstly sat in St Clement area, beside a wood burner ,ashes blowing in our face, smoke everywhere, asked to be moved as I'm asthmatic, seated in courtyard, the view was awful, looking into rubble & weeds people beside us fell through tarpaulin on top of my friend, security didn't come over. After purchasing first round we noticed the cheaper variety of spirits, mixers & cocktails confidently removed from the list. The other table beside us 20mins before their table was up they were told to leave even after paying £40 to stay at table for an extra 2hrs, security were quite nasty to them & their drinks which they had paid for rrived after they had left. It was their wedding day which had been cancelled, felt for them. This was our first experience of Cargo for my friends birthday, it really has put us off recommending ,only for Matthew being so nice & the food, I doubt I would return.
I most definitely will not be back and will advise others I know not to go. Service is less than poor, waited 30mins on average for each drink order. We We’re placed in the wrong booth on arrival and asked to leave 30mins into booking as we were confused with another party. Glasses that came with our Prosecco were covered in lipstick, food order was wrong and to top it all off we were sat beside a bunch of scumbags that appeared to be on a lot more than just alcohol. If you are thinking of booking just don’t! Stay away and wait for pubs to open!!!
What an absolute joke of a place. Food disgusting. Service appalling. Toilets completely disgusting. NEVER AGAIN. Need a hard look at that kitchen food four bits of tortilla. Wise up.
We had an ok time overall, the food was fine. Nothing was explained to us and then someone came to take our order, we asked to see a menu and we were then told to scan the barcode on our table. It would have been good to know this while we were being seated! We had to ask for our prosecco that was included with the gondola deal, and then ask twice for prosecco glasses. The glasses eventually came and they were badly washed reused plastic glasses. Our server was very friendly and the drinks were cold. The pizza was grand. I wouldn't be rushing back and after reading some terrible reviews for yesterday, I think we were lucky! The toilets are absolutely disgusting, and I witnessed 3 girls going into the same portaloo. No toilet roll and diluted hand soap. We enjoyed each others company and the drinks were fine but expensive, it's just not worth the money and could be executed so much better.
Service was very slow considering there were many many empty tables early afternoon & we had paid £30pp for the vip experience. We were ok when our pizzas were delayed, we accepted that different areas had different beers on tap but the biggest disappointment was when our 3gr time had lapsed the the vip booth by 15minutes and an employee, who had not been serving us, rudely arrived with new patrons demanding that we leave the booth as we were 15mins over our time. We apologised as we hadn't realised the time & no one had informed us until now. We asked where we could sit as we had just ordered another round of drinks & were met with poor customer service. The employee in question did not have an answer the employee who had been serving us did not have an answer & so we suggested we took our drinks to one of the many empty picnic benches. The immaturity of the staff was very apparent. The "bouncer" then preceded to ask us to "drink up" on 5 separate occasions to which we informed him that "we had drinks on the way", that "the drinks order had not be completed right & we were still waiting on drinks" & "our drinks had just arrived so we would be finishing them first" The same "bouncer" never asked any other table to "drink up" instead he took phones to take many many photos of them. It seems that once your 3hrs are up they are no longer welcome I would not recommend this place.
Big shout to Victoria for her service throughout the day. It was quite a chilly day and there was a heater between two private booths. The booth beside us asked for the heater to be moved directly into their booth. A red head bouncer moved it and when we asked for it be put back so both booths could benefit, but a very aggressive no which was disappointing. Other than that, great day
The food was nice enough the pizzas were delicious. The alcohol choice was very over priced £36 for a bottle of Prosecco!! You are charging premium prices to have your G&T served in a plastic cup. I enjoyed it but I don’t think I’ll Be back.. too expensive. Staff were lovely. Just not threat value for money I’m afraid ..
Our table server Mitchell was a superstar!
The staff were lovely and the set up was ok (table was comfortable and marquee was good but toilets were not great). What let the experience down was the poor food and pints, I wouldn't really recommend for this reason.
Honestly the best service, all the workers were so kind, particularly Naomi, James R, Victoria and so many others that I can’t quite mind their names, had the best time
Horrific service from start to finish. Didn't get our pizza until half 10 after speaking to multiple waitresses and 2 managers. We were 40 minutes late being seated to our table, received dirty prosecco glasses(stained with lipstick). I understand the weather and these circumstances make the situation difficult but customers would appreciate staff being honest about waiting times.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as the service is shocking and there is no atmosphere whatsoever. You are told that you will be in a private booth but you are sitting in a picnic table with no heater. We also didn’t receive our food as they were taking that ong
Visited Cargo on Saturday 1st May and had a great few hours in one of the Craneview Caverns. The staff were lovely and so attentive. Thanks guys!
Toilets could have been more regularly monitored during Covid as they weren't as clean as they should be during a pandemic Cocktail jugs were super delicious, but ran out after a certain amount of time which was disappointing Food was lovely and service was super quick and attentive and friendly, however we did receive some cups that weren't thoroughly washed and had marks and stains Atmosphere was great and the private booth was perfect and relaxed and felt safe
The service was horrendous, clearly very understaffed and the waiters/waitresses were clearly ran off their feet. Bouncers were also having to run after servers to sort tables out. I felt very sorry for the staff. Very badly organised with severely long waiting times to be seated for a prebooked booth, and for food/drinks. I along with my party will not be back. A bad night all round.
Over priced food! £25 for a portion of slimy chickens wings, pints were all flat. The place was absolutely freezing, a table beside us got the big yellow heating tunnel switched on and pulled it over to their table!! 1 positive was the service, our sever Brendan was lovely, chatty and very efficient- definitely will not be back,
Arrived @6, table wasn’t ready for half in hour cause the previous couple were waiting on their pizza for a long time. We Waited over 3 hours for our pizza and over an hour on dessert. Drinks took at least 20-30 mins to arrive.
The servers were pleasant enough but the service was very slow, we had to ask for our Prosecco about 5 times and it came after the food was consumed. A friend waited over an hour for a drink she ordered. Our bucket of beers came with no bucket! Our wine came with grubby looking, scratched plastic glasses - the only alternative was a tall glass which we had to suggest, prices weren’t of a plastic glass price tag. I think the staff were all very young and inexperienced, it can’t have been easy for them, so I hold Cargo accountable for this bad experience and your lack of training and process. The lack of food choice was very bad - the veggie starter was just a joke, the pizza was nice when it eventually arrived - don’t go if you’re hungry. I recommend you skip desert. Toilets were gross, not maintained regularly. We were a table of 6 and 4 - we gave you over £500. We were so looking forward to getting out and indeed supporting a local business - you abused our commitment and we’ll never be back - shame on you, having a golden opportunity and letting the greed take over. You also need to tell your bouncers, they’re not in a nightclub and to calm down - it’s like they’re pumped and hoping for trouble.
Very overpriced for food and drink. Our group of 6 all had different pizzas but basically all pizzas were packed out with raw red onion and sweetcorn. Think my bbq chicken pizza had about 3 tiny pieces of chicken on it . Chicken wings and desserts were good but with pizza being the only choice of main it was extremely poor quality and extremely over priced.
