Xmas do for work colleagues, very good service and food, lacking bit of atmosphere due to not being very busy
Thank you for looking after us. See you again soon.
Always enjoy dining at Captains Club. Top food, great service from all staff members and as we come here a lot, it's lovely to feel valued Thanks Captains Club, see you again in a couple of weeks :)
The staff were very friendly, and the food was amazing, all piping hot and very tasty. We will be back.
We ate from the festive menu. My beef was collapsed on the plate - overcooked - and the celeriac mash was tasteless and mushy. The carrots were overcooked and not brought with the main course - I had to chase them. The restaurant is terribly noisy - you need a lot of sound absorbing fittings in there. Six ladies were screaming most of the evening at the top of their voices next to us, a loud mouthed bloke at another table nearby pushed up the decibel rating. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. We had one glass of wine so the bill of £108 seemed a lot for an indifferent meal.
Amazing afternoon tea. We loved it and the best afternoon tea I've had in a while ! We will be back. Thank you.
The car park is far to small and was full so had to park in the public car park and it was pouring with rain and got very wet walking to the Club.
My sister and I had a lovely evening at the Captains Club Restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. I would highly recommend a visit.
Just the best evening with friends, food was delicious, service friendly and the whole time was delightful. The captain's club never disappoints. Cant wait to come back!
A lovely afternoon tea spoilt by being questioned by the staff as to how we obtained our voucher. The tea was a gift from our daughter. My husband booked the afternoon tea and gave a code when booking which they failed to make a note of at the time. We felt quite uncomfortable, perhaps they could have asked about the code before we sat down, not after we had finished the tea and were having a drink in the bar.
Delicious meal and the, beetroot starter (can't remember what it was called) was a picture on the plate!
We had a wonderful lunch here, service and food were excellent, sitting in restaurant by window overlooking the river on a beautiful sunny day, it was perfect.
Lovely setting - great food and service - menu was a little heavy for a lunch time, but delicious, therefore a choice for a lighter option lunch menu would be an idea to offer customers - that said, I couldn’t fault a single thing.
Fantastic meal and excellent service. Looked after from beginning to the end.. Would highly recommend 5 star!! Thank you very much.
Excellent as always.
Excellent service with very knowledgeable waiting staff, who were equally well turned out. The ambiance was perfect. We were a table of 8 celebrating my sister's 50th & this was my choice . I am very pleased to say she was impressed & thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Lovely lunch, the set menu, which most of us had was delicious and really god value. It was a birthday meal out and they were so friendly and gave a candle in some chocolates once they found out. Excellent service and a thoroughly good meal.
I took my daughter & her friends for a special cream tea. She knew nothing about it. Michael Dettori organised everything perfectly for me, she loved it. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Michael.
Far too expensive, the food wasn’t good enough to warrant the price. Staff were very friendly and efficient
Lovely ambiance, attentive staff and delicious, well presented food.
Wonderful afternoon tea with excellent service
Great time wine great service very good most of the food fantastic had cod for my main a parsley crust soggy and weird couldn’t eat it, but the rest of the dish was really delicious. Definitely go again.
We were a large group of 20, the service and food was excellent! We were very impressed and are planning another visit in the summer so that those who aren't local can enjoy the fantastic setting of this hotel. Thank you for the wonderful food & very attentive service!
A lovely evening thank you.
Always nice and welcoming. We had 'Todays Special' - sea bass, which was superbly cooked and presented. Fabulous, can't wait until next visit. Ruth & Vic
