We had a fantastic 3 course lunch at the Captains Club Hotel. The service and food were excellent.
Extremely impressed, had dinner Monday and Tuesday evening. Choices were excellent with one of us being vegan and 1 vegetarian there was a separate vegan menu and we all enjoyed our food choices very much. Staff were great and lovely atmosphere.
very attentive staff, great menu and fantastic setting. thank you
To be totally honest I was disappointed on my visit to the restaurant yesterday for the following reasons. The waiter that served us was not at all friendly. After we had ordered our drinks we had to wait a while until I asked a second waiter where our 2 x half’s of cider were only to be told that you had run out of draft cider the day before. We obviously then had to order something else so not sure why the waiter took our order? I ordered the fish cake main course and was disappointed that the cakes had little taste and the greens were very salty. It was disappointing especially when I have been many times before and enjoyed my meal and service. However on a positive note the young lady that followed up with the service was very pleasant and helpful.
We have never had a bad meal at the Captains Club . The staff are always helpful and professional . All our family who joined us over the weekend for our wedding and had never visited the hotel before were smitten with it and would be returning , some from northern Ireland xx
I know it's Easter but to have no oysters lobster is very disappointed such a large established hotel should foresee the busy time and order accordingly
The food was delicious and the location is perfect. Your staff were all very attentive, but we felt that considering how many members of staff were working at the bar, that the service was too slow. We ordered a glass of wine and a lime and soda and waited 15 minutes for it to arrive, by which time, my husband had almost finished his meal and didn't necessarily want the wine anymore. The tea and coffee at the end of the meal took forever to arrive. Other than that, it was a lovely lunch.
Food was exceptional.
Delightful Sunday lunch, the sharing fish platter was just right for four of us as a starter.
I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received from not one but two waitresses. I had a lovely table inside overlooking the river which was nice as I was able to watch the river craft going up and down the river. The service was excellent and the food was lovely. altogether a good experience
Came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were made to feel amazing. Impeccable service. Amazing food. Perfect location. Thank you!!
Excellent Lunch as usual perfect service although very busy thank you Jane
As good as usual but it does get very noisy at times which stifles conversation.
A very relaxed calm atmosphere and food was exceptional. Would definatly go back.
Lovely dinner for my mum’s birthday 🎂 Would like to stay here in the future, excellent service.
The service was slow and once we had our drinks and food nobody came back to see if we were okay or needed anything else. Even when we left, as I handed in my gift card in at the beginning, we were ignored.
My wife and I had Sunday lunch ,the whole experience was excellent ,we could not fault anything and will return again
Thoroughly enjoyable stay; service excellent and with a smile. Will definitely stay again.
Were really looking forward to a belated birthday meal but unfortunately I was very disappointed with my meal, I told the Manager who didn't seem concerned at all. Considering how much we paid for the whole meal we thought the food would be more exciting, it sounded exciting on the menu, but failed to deliver. Will think twice about coming back, sorry.
Delicious 3 course lunch with beautiful view of the river from our table.
The food exceeded expectation (not as good in 2018). However, we did not appreciate the piped music - it just added to the high volume of noise in a busy restaurant.
Afternoon tea was very good value for money and our waiting staff were exceptionally helpful and professional. The price range for wine seems very excessive and not relevant to the local area. Enjoyable afternoon, thank you.
