Modern Portuguese dining in a relaxed, casual neighbourhood setting.
A new restaurant in Ancoats from Simon Shaw and the team behind El Gato Negro Tapas
Food was excellent as always. I attended on 17/8/19 for dinner. Our waitress was fantastic. I believe it may have been her first shift! Please pass on the message. I was impressed with her professionalism.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly attentive staff.
Excellent food in a relaxed restaurant
Service was erratic with dishes turning up randomly that meant some of the party were waiting ages for their dishes, whereas others got everything all at once. Running out of a dessert early evening not really good and served the order a lot later despite being cancelled due to late service.
A bit unfair to criticise the atmosphere, there was only two tables in, I am sure when it is busy it's great. Definitely going to return.
We had such a lovely evening. The food was fantastic and the service second to none.
Fantastic food and helpful cheerful staff. Loved it
Really great food
Amazing food and atmosphere - will definitely be returning!
Nice food, good staff and excellent service.
Food was great. Service was gooo but not that attentive
Excellent food and service, would definitely recommend!
Our first visit - a great place and will definitely be returning. Fabulous food and service!
Great place - relaxed atmosphere, good value for money and top draw food quality. Every day prices for high day quality - definitely recommend
Great food, fantastic service!
Great location for my birthday party - food, service & wine all excellent.
Lovely food in a friendly environment,
The 3 for £15 is a good way of trying a range of dishes if in a group. Everything we has was very good. The place was a bit over - hyped before it opened. It is very good.
Service was slow at the beginning but improved as the evening progressed . It's good to go to a restaurant where the wine is also of good quality and not wildly expensive We will be returning. Hoppefully soon 😊
The food was utterly stunning. The Portuguese wine was wonderful. The service, alas, was so bad that it became calamitous. It's expected with tapas that things arrive as they are ready, but some things were completely forgotten and one dish arrived a full 20 minutes after the whole party had finished all their plates. We asked for a dessert menu, and the waiter promptly forgot and started wiping tables. We got offered other people's food, and had to remind them about our own. It's a shame, but the poor service would make me think twice about going back for some of the most enjoyable food in Manchester.
Great food once again
We had an amazing evening at Canto. The food in particular was incredible, and such good value! We’ve already been recommending to friends and family and will definitely be coming back soon!
Staff are friendly and personable, food is excellent. We’ve probably made our way through the entire menu and every single thing has been delicious!
Amazing food Amazing venue and environment Nick.... YOUR A LEGEND... BRILL CUSTOMER SERVICE
