About Cafe Gandolfi
When I walk into Cafe Gandolfi every morning at eight o'clock, with the sun slanting through the big windows, the place is coming alive. Deliveries are arriving: bread, groceries, the fishmonger's van - and everyone is slipping easily into their routine, anticipating the first customer of the day.
Always great to come back for an excellent meal!
Three days in Glasgow, three breakfasts at Gandolfi. Says it all! Championing Stornaway black pudding, Gandolfi will always get a visit from us. Great food, great staff, and great conversation with Seamus regarding a black pudding stuffing idea. Just thought of adding sage leaves as well!
Apparently the macaroni cheese was very good. Haggis not so. Dry and tasteless.
outstanding on every return visit spanning at least two decades. allergy list a good idea but needs refinement. awkward ‘allied’ allergies of ‘that awkward costumer.... me’ make it confusing at times. staff, however, keen to offer further advice so never a big issue. never a bad thought to be had and always to be recommended.
Looking forward to returning
Not as good as last time for Breakfast (was busier which may be the issue). Poached egg was hard, bacon was hard and below standard. Missed off Mushroom (replaced quickly). Toast missing from another breakfast (replaced quickly). Brown sauce removed from table without asking if we were finished with it (we weren't).
An institution in Merchant City, Café Gandolfi is still doing what it has always done, and brilliantly. The airy dining room, the relaxed and friendly vibe, the superb menu, excellent service and top notch drinks. Not forgetting the best brunch menu around. What's not to love. Go visit if you are in town. You won't be disappointed.
fabulous Indian wine and great atmosphere and staff as always. I was a little disappointed with the starter - I did not really enjoy the crab and crayfish coronation - felt it was not up to usual standards. The linguine with prawns was lovely however - sadly not time for dessert.
It is now a tradition for me to have a Gandolfi breakfast when i'm in Glasgow for work. It never disappoints! The service is always great and the quality of the ingredients is fantastic. Looking forward to my next visit already!
My favourite restaurant. Never fails to meet the mark. Love everything about Cafe Gandolfi. Keep up the great work.
A Glasgow institution with a good mix of specials as well as the old favourites.
Great food and lovely service. Will be back.
So many good memories of the place, will just keep coming back
The food was delicious, as always. A really pleasant girl served us, with a brightly coloured funky shirt on, short hair and glasses. She was very friendly and helpful.
Food and service was first class. Restaurant was full on a Sunday morning and had a great atmosphere. I would suggest you need to book.
Best breakfast in Glasgow!
Still one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. The fish dishes excel, but the vegetarian dishes lack that final touch.
Had a great breakfast and Bloody Mary
Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Very enjoyable evening with excellent food. Thank you.
Beautiful restaurant- had smoked haddies and crime brûlée’s with a fab bottle of Pinot grigio. Even though it was busy service was relaxed and really friendly
Delicious food and great atmosphere! Enjoyed the cocktails upstairs first and then great seafood and monkfish in the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Always excellent food, service and warm relaxed atmosphere.
