About Cafe Gandolfi
When I walk into Cafe Gandolfi every morning at eight o'clock, with the sun slanting through the big windows, the place is coming alive. Deliveries are arriving: bread, groceries, the fishmonger's van - and everyone is slipping easily into their routine, anticipating the first customer of the day.
Food & service was excellent. Great way to start a Sunday.
One of my favourite Glasgow eating venues. Had many meals here over more years than I care to mention! It never disappoints.
Pate starters are too large Reduce size and price Didn't like whole piece of smoked haddock at bottom of my dish of macaroni cheese Would be better flaked and mixed in Otherwise food tasty Bit pricey though
We went in for brunch and admittedly it was the latest possible time for a brunch booking. Most of the items in my full breakfast appeared to have been cooked some considerable time earlier and then left under a heatlamp or in a bain marie, definitely not cooked to order. The bacon suffered particularly badly from this treatment. It was really the kind of thing I'd expect at a budget hotel's buffet breakfast, not a Glasgow food institution. To make matters worse my scrambled egg had a hair in it so I returned it. When it came back it was evident that all other items on the plate had been transferred and a VERY hurried new portion of eggs cooked. Luckily I don't mind my scrambled eggs loose, but many would have called them undercooked. Although the waiter apologised very nicely there was no offer of even a free coffee by way of compensation which would have been a very cheap way of making amends. We have been to Cafe Gandolfi numerous times over the years, as have my parents, and have always recommended it to acquaintances visiting the city. I will be more cautious in my recommendations now.
The cullen skink and the vegetarian were both excellent!
Necessary to book ahead to reserve a space because it's always busy - and rightly so, the food is delicious. We came for a leisurely Sunday breakfast and opted for Eggs Hebridean (poached eggs, stornoway black pudding on a muffin with hollandaise sauce) which was a perfect start to the day. It has a lovely warm atmosphere inside and the staff are friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend to others and a return visit soon for us too.
Gandolfi's has been my happy place for a number of years, always enjoy a chance to visit. I would say, however, that the menu has become too elaborate
I haven’t been for years and it was just as great as i remembered. Great service, atmosphere and fabulous food. A few standouts for us , the bloody mary, the cullen skink and the Malteser Pot ! Wow, we wont leave it so long again x
Excellent meal for a cold winter's night. Nice, cosy atmosphere and good service.
Excellent food, service ad atmosphere. Dined here many times since Cafe Gandolfi opened and will keep coming back. I always recommend it to visitors to Glasgow.
We have few times now. Always great service with very delicious food.
I have loved this place since it opened decades ago. Now that I’ve also found the beautiful and atmospheric bar upstairs, there’s no need to go anywhere else in Glasgow. One of this life’s true pleasures.
Very nice food and lovely waitress. I’m gluten free and there was plenty of choice for me. Ideal.
Amazing as always, thank you.
Great restaurant and wine bar. High quality, unpretentious food and friendly service.
Sunday breakfast with friends from down South. Perfect ending to a great weekend before they’re journey home Thank you
Fabulous dining experience from beginning to end. Will be returning very soon.
Have been going to Gandolfis for several years but on this occasion (a friend of my who also went recently themselves experienced similarly), the staff seemed a little unfriendly and didn't seem overly warm towards us. This started from the lady who showed us to her table as well as our server. Hopefully just new staff and will improve in time.
Great meal and service. Will definitely come again when next in Glasgow.
I absolutely love Café Gandolfi and, even though sometimes I may not visit more than once a year (800 mile round trip) I have loved it since it opened. Please don't change a thing! Martyn Fletcher
Love the place it has a spirit of Scotland

Lovely birthday lunch with my sister. Huge portions and the food was delicious. Staff very nice and attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and will return again.
Very friendly and professional staff. Imaginative menu sourcing best of Scottish ingredients.
