About Cafe Gandolfi
When I walk into Cafe Gandolfi every morning at eight o'clock, with the sun slanting through the big windows, the place is coming alive. Deliveries are arriving: bread, groceries, the fishmonger's van - and everyone is slipping easily into their routine, anticipating the first customer of the day.
Wonderfully relaxed. Great menu, brilliant prepared and presented. Top, friendly service.
Meals are clearly cooked from quality ingredients that provide flavour. Service was excellent and the food was served quickly. The decor at Gandolfi is always a talking point.
Great service, lovely food and a nice warm atmosphere. We were late due to train issues and the staff were so accommodating and amended the reservation. Overall a really enjoyable experience and some of the best macaroni cheese I've ever eaten.
Great as always but I am a fan. My favourite restaurant in Glasgow.
Nice wee place! Will be returning again soon :) Food was spectacular, but should offer a smaller sized portion - I couldn't finish and I hate food waste. Staff were excellent, cannot fault the service at all.
We came for a work christmas meal and it didnt feel like your typical 'christmas night' - tacky/poor food etc. It was lovelly - everything about it - from the way that we were greeted when we came in, to the food, the atmosphere, we had a fantastic night. The food was really special and we all left happy. Many thanks - and we will be back!
Excellent meal at Cafe Gondolfi
The food was excellent and the staff soon made me feel comfortable. The prices were higher than I usually pay but the food was well worth the money. One criticism that I would make is that there too many adjectives in your menu. It is sufficient to use 'Smoked Salmon' not 'Summer Isles Peat Smoked Salmon'. I would recommend your establishment for a special occasion: alas, I cannot afford to eat there regularly.
Never changes - and that’s a good thing!
Excellent food and service. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.
It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at Cafe Gandolfi and had forgotten how good the place is. An impressive menu, excellent wine and knowledgeable staff really made our evening. With a guest visiting Glasgow for the day from London the restaurant showcased the best of Scottish cuisine. I’ll be back!
Excellent seafood , with perfect suggested wine pairing
A little expensive but vg quality
The food was very good and good value for money, very warming and ample portions on a cold evening. The Nero d'Avola was not the best I've had so I thought a little over-priced for the quality, but it still all disappeared! Service was pleasant, efficient & friendly.
Great espresso, breakfast of avocado and poached eggs on sourdough toast and toms, really tasty. Partner had french toast and bacon with maple syrup, delicious. Friendly service and the restaurant was nice and cosy.
Went for breakfast , lovely inside and lovely menu orange juice way overpriced at £3.95 a glass eggs Fiorentine were perfect also ordered full Scottish breakfast only come with 1 egg would be better if it came with 2 eggs also bacon was undercooked they could work on buying better standard of butcher meat , usually go to cafe zique in the west end but tried cafe gandolfi for a change , but will be sticking to cafe zique
There is an all round quality to Cafe Gandolfi. My last visit was at noon for lunch and even at that time the place was going like a fair. The best testament was on departure when I walked past a significant number of other local restaurants. The largest head count by far was at Gandolfi
Great menu selection, options well explianed, food was amazing and beautifully presented
I’ve been coming here for years. Great place for breakfast. Staff friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommended
Brilliant food and drink....
GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE
A tempting menu that delivers it's promise and more. Friendly staff with a pleasant buzzy atmosphere in a quirky atmosphere. An established Glasgow institution that is as good as ever if not better. My lunch guest from Edinburgh had not been before and just absolutely enthused.
Really enjoyable visit as ever, will be back.
