About Cafe Gandolfi
When I walk into Cafe Gandolfi every morning at eight o'clock, with the sun slanting through the big windows, the place is coming alive. Deliveries are arriving: bread, groceries, the fishmonger's van - and everyone is slipping easily into their routine, anticipating the first customer of the day.
We had a fabulous breakfast at Cafe Gandolfi. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was friendly and helpful too. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that will be in Glasgow.
Cafe Gandolfi has been a firm favourite and go-to place for nearly 30 years. What more can I say - its fantastic!
Nice food, well presented by attentive staff at reasonable cost. Will go again for sure.
Always a warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. The amount of choice available just on the breakfast menu is incredible. Food is always well prepared and presented and delivered to the table quickly. Excellent service, friendly staff and fantastic food.Highly recommended.
Great as always!
Just a great experience all round.
I've been to Cafe Gandolfi several times, usually its a great experience so if you are deciding whether or not to go, I would say its worth a shot, normally I get good friendly service and great food. However, I'm not sure why this time it was so bad. I gave extra stars in my review because of more positive past experiences. It was difficult to get attention for water/bill payment etc, overall staff seemed disinterested, a big contrast to the usual warm-friendly experiences of the past. I ordered the duck confit, and it was so dry I had to peel away the hardened skin to find edible meat beneath. (I tried chewing the skin, it was too hardened to chew through). For the price of the meal, this low level of quality is quite absurd. I took my partner there to show him my "favourite restaurant in Glasgow" and was a bit embarrassed at the experience I was able to show him. I hope in the future Cafe Gandolfi can maintain their usual standard of superb food and service.
Looked after us really well. Very accommodating given we were a party of nine plus two prams. Staff very friendly and lovely food.
We visited with some Australian friends who just loved the food, drink and atmosphere.
My favourite place to eat in Glasgow. Lunch and Dinner. Love the wood, tables, chairs and surroundings as much as the food and wine! Service always considerate, helpful and informed
Always come back for the quality food and continually impressed with the friendly staff.
Delicious fresh produce and excellent, friendly service.
Fantastic food & venue - thank you
Saddened to find what we were looking forward too was lacking in service, no Parmesan with soup, the Caesar Salad mentioned anchovies which did not find. Also you used to have strips of .parmesan with it. I fear your popularity on the tourist trail has lead to a certain lack of attention to detail and the old Glaswegian welcome.
Always a classic venue in Glasgow
Love this place. Best breakfast in Glasgow.
Love coming here for lunch/dinner. Feels just like home from home, so comfortable and the staff are brilliant.
Superb breakfast, high quality of food and service.
Excellent place to eat and more than a restaurant. Good, staff and atmosphere excellent.
My first visit was in 1979 when you opened, I have loved it every visit since, always consistently great, thank you.
It’s been a while since we’re last at Cafe Gandolfi but it won’t be so long till we’re back - it never disappoints!
Lovely place that I will visit as soon as I come back to Glasgow.
Table too small, even for originally planned 6 people and not 7. Really close to wall and no space to move around. Plates were perched in corners of table. Service was very slow. Good food though.
