Cérès proposes a new take on Southern European gastronomy showcasing seasonal British produce in unique monthly menus.
An excellent local restaurant with delicious seasonal food. An interesting wine list to match. Very warm service and extra special to have the chef proprietor visit the tables for feedback. Hoping that they continue to thrive as a great addition to the area and a refreshing change from larger corporate restaurants.
Cute spot with really delicious food, would highly recommend the samphire and beef tataki. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.
The food and service was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely superb food! The music kept cutting in and out which muddles the atmosphere. The service was very friendly but I think it would be helpful to be told what’s being served (especially on the tasting menu) and offering fresh plates for the fish course. This is nitpicking though as the food really was excellent :)
Every plate was very creative and more important super delicious. Love the concept of sharing plates.
Wonderful food, particularly the hake.
I was really excited to bring my colleagues and friends to Cérès to get them to discover French and Southern European cuisine and I was not disappointed! Everyone loved the food and wine and we had a great time! Thank you Cérès for hosting our group last night!
A small outfit which principally delivers on the food. Excellent and well-sourced ingredients are put together in exciting dishes. A small menu full of deliciousness.
Sorry but we arrived at 8.15 and ate our main meal at 9.45. We were told the lamb would take a while but was not given an hour as the time we'd have to wait. The waitress was overworked (there should be two) and didn't smile very much. I felt a pain asking for another glass of wine when she walked past. There are lots of great restaurants in the area and very sadly I would not recommend this to anyone - even though the food was delicious. The time, expense and lack of service did not warrant the £120 bill for 4.
excellent all round - great menu and fab atmosphere- will book again soon!
Amazing food made with love!
Outstanding service. Would like to return and sample another menu choice.
We loved it. Everything was excellent quality. Staff were friendly and professional. We will be back very soon and have already told our friends about it. Thanks!
thank you, Cérès, for being worthy of the very first five star review I’ve ever posted. Camille and Sarah gave us a wonderful evening. The restaurant is unpretentious, on a distinctly unpretentious part of Green Lanes, but the moment you get inside you know you’re onto something special. I adore Camille’s cooking. It’s technically flawless and inventive, and manages to be both stylish and simple at the same time. The small wine list is excellent and Sarah’s warm welcome is genuine. I’m going to be there at least once a week for ever.
We had a lovely evening and the one who was intimidated by the menu discovered food she could eat and enjoy! The plates aren’t really ‘small’ so we ordered too much but it was all totally delicious.
A well run restaurant. Delicious food and a very efficient lady serving. Definitely will go again.
We had an amazing night at Cérès. It was 3 of us and we ordered the entire menu. The food was outrageous! One of the best meals I’ve had for a while. We drank the Kayra which is light Turkish red and goes well with everything as it’s not overpowering at all. We finished with both deserts and coffee. Brilliant service, space and atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!
The restaurant is lovely and decor calm and modern but the acoustics are challenging when it’s busy. We were a party of 6 and I don’t think sharing plates works well. Not enough to go round for all 6 of us and also some hard to eat - the gazpacho and scallop dish for example. The wine list is very good. Some nice choices. Cheese board and puddings delicious The service was great - friendly and helpful i would definitely come again
Sometimes when you pick a restaurant you have to choose between the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Cérès manages to offer the best of both. I first attended a wine tasting where each wine was carefully selected and admirably paired with delicious and tasty nibbles. The flavours truly made us travel across the mediterranean sea. I came back for a full diner to celebrate my birthday with friends. We've been welcomed by the chef who didn't hesitate to adapt the dishes to everyone's diet requirements. We had great wine recommendations who exactly matched our taste and every dish was incredibly savoursome. I highly recommend this place.
Very, very good. Thanks
Seriously classy cooking! Such attention to detail and seasonings. Highlights were perfectly cooked hake (wish I could do that), samphire tempura (who knew), exceptional wine...actually, everything was a highlight. Not one false move in the whole experience, served charmingly and unpretentiously in the stripped back dining room. A total delight.
Such a find. What a gem.
Good food but WAY too expensive for what you get.
