About Buttermilk and Maple
Buttermilk & Maple
Buttermilk and Maple is located on the famous Welsh Back waterfront, close to the historical Bristol Bridge that gave life to the city.
For centuries the bridge was the only crossing of the Avon for miles around. As Bristol spread to the southern bank of the river, the bridge joined the two halves of the city. A Georgian bridge toll caused outrage and led to Bristol’s bloodiest riot.
Relax history is the past! Buttermilk and Maple is the perfect place to meet with colleagues, catch-up with friends, share precious moments with family or just to be on your own chilling out, we have free Wi-Fi and plenty of power sockets near tables to keep you connected all day.
We serve great food from an early buffet breakfast, trendy brunch, light lunch… or not, afternoon tea and dinner that you can enjoy in a very laid back atmosphere. Don’t forget to order the pancakes!
Our team will also be delighted to guide you on a journey through our bar discovering wines, craft beers, gins, whiskeys and other spirits which combined together will create our fantastic Welsh Back themed cocktails .
We also have meeting rooms and a mezzanine for special events.
Just pop in, contact us …… and follow us on social media to keep in touch and see what’s happening every day!!!
Fruit compote was great but fried breakfasts weren’t cooked well as poached eggs had been over cooked (boiled not runny) and we had asked for no hash browns but received 5 on our plate. Service and atmosphere were great but was disappointed by the food.
pancakes tasted frozen and stale placed in the back with poor lighting (from pictures of place you would get a great view) the lady serving was great friendly but very busy and overwhelmed as it seemed it was just her and the manager serving and couldn't keep up with everyone as they were apologising for the wait over and over
Absolutely brilliant friendly service with a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food.
Excellent. Very filling and good quality food and service. Too much food in fact.
I had the salmon and potato hash, it was way too much potatoes which weren't all cooked. I thought the potatoes would be grated or something lighter, plus generally the meal was dry. The gherkins were nice though. Cocktails were nice as well.
Fab service would like a more varied menu
I thought the food and atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed it so much I am considering bringing my whole family here for my birthday, however the service was so poor that it is making me reconsider. The girl who served us was rude, she never said please or thank you, we were sat with our plates empty after we had finished for about 20 minutes before we asked her to take our plates away. We asked for the bill and I sat ready with my card and she didn’t even look over at us was just chatting to colleagues etc and it wasn’t until about 10 minutes later when I asked for the card machine accross the room that she came over. She didn’t thank us for the payment or thank us when we left
We came to Buttermilk and Maple with a wowcher deal so the value for money was fantastic. 2 courses which were tasty and very nicely plated, compliments to the chef. Service was polite enough. Atmosphere was lovely and comfortable.
Food was really tasty and well presented, staff consistently checked on us which was really nice! £22 each for a three course meal on valentine's prosecco included was incredibly cheap for the quality of food and service. Will absolutely come here again!
Pros: Great taste and good value Cons: Food took so long to come out and one of the waitresses was impolite
Easy booking process. Great service, very friendly. Delicious food.
Very nice food. Little quiet but service was efficient and we enjoyed it.
The food was amazing, well worth the money.
I went for breakfast on my birthday had the Pancakes they were delicious! They even surprised me with a free cake with candle it was presented beautifully on the plate. The customer service was excellent. Will definitely be returning and recommending this place to others .
Great food and venue for a group. Cocktails amazing.
Had a wowcher but the gentleman who was front of house on 18th Jan was amazing... he was so polite and accommodating really relaxed and made us feel very welcome. Food was nice but without the wowcher I'm not sure on value for money.
Friendly attentive service. Food was piping hot, quick and delicious with good portion sizes.
Lovely staff and food!
Unfortunately, a really poor evening. We waited over 15 minutes for our drinks order even to be taken. Once we had found someone to take our order, our mains arrived after 30 minutes, the steak cold, and my salmon was really surprisingly small (and I dont have an enormous appetite but for £14 I felt this was a real rip off). Really disappointing evening.
Booked as a birthday brunch treat but very disappointing! My eggs Benedict was stone cold with rock hard eggs! The waiter apologised and got the kitchen to remake but my mother had to eat her meal alone while mine was remade. Not a great experience especially as the restaurant was particularly empty!
Lovely, friendly staff, good food, nice setting
Very nice food and the service was great. Nice place
Lovely place. Friendly staff, and really went that extra mile for my sisters birthday
Staff were friendly and fast. Although our reserved table went to someone else as we were late on arrival, we were offered a table just as good and had plenty of room for all. Relaxed atmosphere, great to catch up with friends with some excellent food and drink.
Everything was great, we will definitely be back.
