About The Butterfly and The Pig
We take pride in making basic foods, delicious and well presented; from the humble burger, served with home made mayonnaise and hand cut chips to our signature ‘open’ fishcake dish, presented in a Le Creuset pan, packed with potato and salmon, and a creamy egg oozing through.
The unique interior of the Butterfly and the Pig is best described as welcoming, shabby chic, vintage country. Our mismatched furniture and wallpaper give the Butterfly and the Pig a real comfort during the daytime, while eclectic resident bands and DJs ensure a more lively atmosphere later on.
The ambiance of the Butterfly and the Pig makes for a pleasant haven from the hustle and bustle of the street; somewhere to enjoy a quick lunch and a drink, or a leisurely dinner. Our food is excellent quality and prepared fresh on the premises every day.
A lovely meal in a friendly, comfortable and creative space
Special thanks to the staff on Sunday when they presented our afternoon tea with a candle in a cupcake for my wife's birthday
Great food! Cocktail menu is a bit short.
Service and food were if a range ally high standard. Went here for a lunch. Loads of options on the menu for vegetarians.
Tasty gluten free food is hard to come by but this place excels every time.
lovely food / drinks and nice atmosophere!
Excellent food and service
We met friends for lunch; the staff were great, friendly and helpful. A good menu choice but the portion size on some of the dishes was too big, we found this offputting and wasteful, such a shame because the food is good. On the day we were there the basement room felt cold and a bit damp. Prefer the tearoom experience upstairs.
Lovely afternoon tea Great sandwiches and plenty of hot tea Delicious cakes Service was great Place was clean and welcoming
Enjoyed our high tea. Good choice and large portions. We especially liked the piece of coconut ice that came with our bill. Would definitely recommend.
Food was great. Good value for money. But the waiter wasn’t the best. We ordered a bottle of wine. He just poured it. Didn’t offer to let one of us taste it first. Cutlery was kind of thumped down as were most of our dishes when they arrived. Felt a bit like being served by a bull in a china shop. Hopefully it was his first shift and he will get better over time.
We were looking forward to eating at the B and P during our short break to Glasgow after reading reviews. As it was a Sunday we were both tempted by the Sunday roast. Sadly this was very disappointing - the roast potatoes were hard and uncooked and the meat, which at first seemed generous, contained a large amount of fat and gristle. Shame as its a really nice pub with good service
I visited with Greek friends from Athens who had asked for an afternoon tea experience and this fitted in so perfectly. Lovely staff and interesting place to be.
Absolutely amazing food and fantastic staff. We shall do this again!
Lovely back pudding and prawn starters. Melt in your mouth steak in the pie with great seasonal vegetables
When we come into town for a show this is one of our favourite places to have dinner. Will be back at end of year for Panto. Booking already made.
Food was lovely. Esp cakes Great to place to chat with friends
Wonderful Sunday Roast. The quality of your food is superb. Quick and efficient service, wonderful atmosphere. What else could I ask for???
We had a nice meal apart from my salad being rather small in comparison to the other mains. Also it felt like the staff where rushing us constantly this was not welcoming or good service. I appreciate we had a booking to give back the table for a certain time however my friend wasn’t even give 2 minutes to read the menu when she arrived. This isn’t appropriate and ruined a nice meal.
Had a most enjoyable afternoon tea experience with our friend and everything was scrumptious. Very friendly and attentive staff.. Could not do enough for us. Defo recommend..
Excellent service and delicious food
Enjoy our first visit, will be back next time we are in town
We have previously eaten regularly in your Southside restaurant and while we were disappointed some of the dishes, especially my favourite Fish Cake, was not on your Bath Street menu the food we ordered was excellent and service was fantastic.
We had an excellent pre-concert (Christy Moore at Barrowlands) dining experience at the Butterfly and the Pig (South). Proper home-cooked food expertly cooked and presented in a restaurant style all without the restaurant price tag. The staff were friendly and helpful and appropriately attentive. Great atmosphere set in the self-labelled "shabby chic" and vintage environment. The Charles Rennie Macintosh tile display was magnificent! We will definitely return next time we visit Glasgow. Mark and Julie Wagstaff from the West Midlands.
I have coeliac and need a gluten free diet. I have been here many times and always have a great experience. Staff are very friendly. The portions are huge but the waitress offered me a half portion and even that I couldn’t finish. Very reasonable prices and excellent service.
