About BRÚ House Kilmainham (formerly Union8)
Situated in the heart of the vibrant residential, cultural and business district of Dublin 8, BRÚ House Kilmainham, formerly Union8, is a casual and bustling neighbourhood eatery. It’s located within easy walking distance of Kilmainham Gaol, IMMA, St James’s Hospital and Hilton Hotel Kilmainham.
With an affordable all-day and evening menu during the week and a delicious brunch on weekends, BRÚ House Kilmainham is perfect for grabbing a bite to eat, having a glass of wine or choosing from our range of craft draught and bottled beer. You can always expect warm hospitality from our friendly and committed team.
We’re both a community hub and a popular spot with visitors from further afield. In the warmer months, come enjoy our beautiful and spacious outside terrace (which is dog friendly).
Great ambience and service, loved the lights and the covered terrace looked cool too. Would be nice to have more vegetarian options but this a good 'local' place for me.
Food was delicious. My Ribeye steak was rare as requested and cooked to perfection.i had the barbacue ribs for starter which were really tasty. We will be back, very good value .all social distancing strictly adhered to ,so very pleased.
Food was excellent as was the service, staff were so welcoming and could not do enough for you. Great spacing between tables and all other relevant covid measures were taken which was great. Already looking forward to heading back :).
I'd say you can get rid of the mention of former Union 8 - you are a new place ... It looks like you are afraid of making the step of moving on. Burger was nice, beet was good. I will be back - since we are practically neighbours
Great service and food. Will be back.
Food was very average, limited veggie options. Nice drinks and setting.
Good was good booking was easy
Food was quite disappointing. Frozen fries and bland chilli. Great waiter made the evening better.
The staff were very professional during this difficult time & we felt safe in the restaurant.
very pleasant experience staff were lovely
Great night, delicious food and superb cocktails!
Lovely evening. Staff were super friendly and pleasant. A little expensive but other than that a lovely enjoyable evening.
Extremely friendly staff who are constantly tentative without being intrusive . Atmosphere is chilled and very comfortable with great lighting . Food was served in good time , well presented and beautiful, Nice range of house beer. Overall great experience and will without question visit again.
Service was horrible and rude, place was overbooked and did get table we requested. Social distancing was not adhered to at the high tables.
We had a great night, thanks. Food was delicious and plenty of space and social distancing. Great to have Brú House in Kilmainham.
Excellent food, service and value !
Felt happy with the COVID measures in place.
Fantastic servers, great food and drink.
Lovely food, lovely beer. Excellent service. Will return
We really enjoyed our time at BRU House. The friendly staff made us feel very welcome. The service and quality of the food was excellent and great value for money. Looking forward to a return visit very soon.
After booking online for a table for 2 at 9 15pm we were seated in the corner of the civered outside area which was cold. We asked if we could move to seats inside the restaurant as we could see that there were unoccupied seats but were refused. The outside area has some heating elements but we were still cold. Eventually we were allowed to finish our final drink inside the restaurant. Be wary of booking a table at night as you may be seated in the outside area. Staff not overly attentive as I had to walk up to the bar at one point to request a drink.
Love going to Bru favourite restaurant without having to go into town, staff very attentive, nice atmosphere, great food but would love bigger rang vegetables with our meal,
The service was very disappointing.
In my opinion a big improvement on Union 8! I was never a fan. It was more style than substance and the food never lived up to the price tag. This however feels like a place you can go and enjoy good food a in nice casual relaxed atmosphere with attentive friendly service. We only had the main course . I went for the burger which was delicious and my wife had the special of the day which was tuna. We had a bottle of the chenin Blanc and a couple of Bru Lagers. All really good. A great addition to Dublin 8. I Will be returning really soon.
Great food and cocktails
