Lovely staff , great food and great drinks
Food was good but I have had amazing from Browns before - maybe due to current reduced menu. Quiet but was a Thursday and social distancing in the place and always on the slightly more expensive side but worth the money m. Would recommend
The food on the whole was very good, and the staff friendly. However the wait staff were poorly trained if at all. They were constantly leaning over people to pass plates or items to other people, instead of walking round to them. Also we had to ask several times for more drinks. On every occasion we wanted more drinks we had to ask more than once.
Staff were great. Harvey was a great welcome host on arrival in the bar, great suggestions for cocktails etc. Staff in the restaurant were fantastic and really couldn’t do enough for us. Great meal, company and atmosphere. Thank you!
I have used the restaurant for more than 20 years. It used to have well-cooked and well-presented food at reasonable prices. On Tuesday, we got oversalted café food at similar prices and zero atmosphere because we were the only two diners. I shall not return, sadly. It BL used to be a favourite of mine.

We always like to be given the chance to rectify any issue should there be one that way we can ensure you leave 100% satisfied. Disappointed with price of food, seafood cocktail contained 4 prawns didn’t warrant price. Felt more like a pub then a restaurant. Cocktail made incorrectly. Service abit slow although friendly just didn’t seem slick. No menu available online. Website doesn’t work. Menu was on laminated paper we actually could not believe it! Would not recommend for a special occasion.
Good morning Jemma, Thank you for your feedback. It would have been more beneficial to you and ourselves had you raised the issues on the night of your visit. We always like to be given the chance to make sure you are 100% satisfied that is why we ensure all guests receive check backs. You are correct the menus at the moment are laminate sheets that is because we have only just launched this menu and so printing takes time due to alterations but should you come again you will be presented with a coated menu. Our website is currently undergoing development but will be up and running very soon but you are always welcome to call the restaurant or email us and we are happy to send out all our menus. Used to be one of my favourite places to eat BUT the menu has changed to more of a pub grub vibe although i was suprised at the quality of the food i just wish there was more of it. Very small portion for the money. Had the cheesecake pudding and couldnt eat it as there was nothing cheesecake about it. Stay away from the cocktails aswell. Pouring a combination of drinks into a glass and not mixing does not make it a cocktail very very poor!! Staff very friendly and proffesional. Paid £92 for 3 courses and 2 drinks i feel this is around £20 if not more overpriced. Would extreamly reccomend the restaurant goes back to the old menu and knocks the cocktails on the head.
Good afternoon Joe, Thank you for your feedback. We do encourage our guests to feedback on the day as this gives us a chance to answer any questions or rectify any issues. Our style of menu did in fact change over 18 months ago and has been widely received but as with any change unfortunately it will not suit everyone's taste. In answer to your comment regarding discontinuing cocktails, this would upset a lot of our guests as they do enjoy what we do, again had you raised the issue on the night then we could have done something about it. Took a group of 27 here for a celebration, food was lovely and the staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The place had a nice feel to it also and I can't say a negative thing about any of it - thank you!
The choice of main dishes is not wide. The tapas are average in taste. Maybe that is why the restaurant was empty at dinner time. The restaurant is beautiful inside especially at Christmas time with all lighting. The service was good.
Lovely atmosphere, food delicious and service excellent. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
Everything was great, service etc., and most of the food was good. I chose the stuffed cabbage leaves and sadly I felt they were tasteless and just stuffed with rice so a bit disappointing I am sorry to say, the other meals all got good reviews.
We had a fantastic works meal, all 13 meals were perfect, food hot, quality was amazing and fantastic price. Staff couldn’t do enough to help, highly recommend browns
The food was good. The service was ok, they got a few drinks orders wrong BUT they were friendly. My only real complaint was the table we all sat at, a round table and square table pushed together for ten people was not suitable we were all squashed together .
We celebrated our Works Christmas Evening Meal at Browns and they were very accommodating. Excellent, relaxed evening.
I organised for a party of 23 to have Christmas Lunch early December 2019. Bar and restaurant staff were welcoming, attentive, and polite. Food was well prepared and presented. Everything I needed for our group was provided for, thank you.
Wanted to share a massive thank you to Emma and her team on Friday 6th Dec, where my colleagues and myself had a wonderful meal, couldn't fault the service and friendliness of the team at Browns Lane. We will be back. Linda
Bar area and the service downstairs was very good and aligns with previous experience before ownership changed. Upstairs was a different matter. Despite prebooking our table was laid for 5 people and we were a party of six. My wife's starter was undercooked and being prawns would have left her feeling rather dodgy had she eaten it. Plates were delivered extremely hot with one waitress needing to use her sleeves to hold the plates. Changing waitresses during a service is never my preference although towards the latter part of the meal a supervisor took over and service greatly improved. All in all I was disappointed by the experience. It might be timing with it being a festive menu so will perhaps give it one more try in the spring.

Lovely evening, good atmosphere and delicious food. Very good value for money
I went here with friends for my birthday lunch and the restaurant was small, but lovely decor and atmosphere, as felt cosy and classy. There were 2 types of menus (Tapas & Normal), so plenty to choose from, also accommodate to any dietary requirements as a member of our party has a peanut allergy. However most of us went for the veg lasagna which was nice but we felt was missing something and maybe missing some spice. Other than that the that we all had a lovely time, just the food for what we chose was a bit of a let down for a veg option.
Absolutely amazing, great food, staff very friendly, nice atmosphere and very good prices. Will definitely visit again.
Quality of food was poor compared with previous visits.
We were very disappointed with the service. The waiter didn't seem to have been trained, removing plates before other diners had finished and just plonked glasses and wine on the table.

Friendly staff. One young lady needs to learn how to stack dishes as she dropped several things whilst we ate although this was not on anybody.
